Chapter 120
I'm Sorry My Love Novel
Chapter 120 30 Years of Hard Work
After she finished her words, Georgina clasped her hands together and rested them on her knees as
she was genuinely nervous. Even though she had managed to analyze the whole situation clearly, she
still couldnât tell what was going on in Aidanâs mind. He had turned himself from an illegitimate child into
the widely-feared President Pearson, so he was clearly someone of astounding intelligence and
capabilities. However, even though it seemed like Aidan was on the losing end within the Pearson
Group this time, Georgina still wasnât sure if her terms were attractive enough for him.
Aidan curled her lips into a smile as he gazed at her with an unimpressed look. âYou want me to marry
you, huh?â
Georgina took a deep breath. âThatâs right. If it werenât for the mistake that occurred in between, we
shouldâve been the ones getting married three years ago. Furthermore, both our families have already
ââ
âI think you might have misunderstood something.â Aidan interrupted her. âThey wanted you to get
married to Justin, not me.â
Georgina froze upon hearing this. âHow could that be? Iâve always treated Justin as a brotherâ¦â she
muttered. âThatâs why no one brought it up,â Aidan replied. Sienna was fond of Georgina, but if she had
found out that Georgina was getting married to Aidan, she wouldnât have allowed herself to get too
close to Georgina. She couldnât bring herself to be fond of a woman who was about to marry a man she
despised.
There were two main reasons why no one had ever brought up the marriage between Georgina and
Justin. Firstly, Justin had a firm stance on this matterâhe refused to agree to the marriage regardless
of Siennaâs words. Sienna had no choice but to give up on him. Secondly, since the Crossleys were a
wealthy family, and Georgina was their only daughter, her father was extremely fond and overprotective
of her. Her family would never allow her to date someone with a physical disability. These were the
main reasons no one ever suggested a marriage between the Crossleys and Pearsons.
On the other hand, Sienna would never allow Georgina to marry Aidanâthat was probably the last
thing Sienna wanted. Gordon was worried that Aidan would start disobeying them after he grew more
powerful, so Gordon immediately ordered Aidan and Leanna to get married when Lenna showed up.
Georgina calmed down before speaking again. âIf thatâs the case, donât you have more reason to marry
me? In that case, they would be helpless, and youâd be able to get revenge on them!â she uttered.
Aidan simply knocked his long fingers on the deskâs surface as he thought about something. âOur
marriage would be just like Anna and Zaynâs marriage, Aidan. Both parties would benefit from this. You
know how Iâm the only daughter at home, Aidan. Iâm bad at managing the company, so I will hand over
all of the business to you in the future. Iâd rather marry you than some random guy that Iâve barely met.
Youâre the best option I have in mind.â Georgina insisted.
After a few seconds, Aidanâs calm voice filled the room. âBut youâre not my best option,â he replied.
She pressed her lips together. âDid you fall in love with your ex-wife?â
âWhat has that got to do with you?â Aidanâs gaze turned colder when he next looked at her.
âI donât understand what youâre doing, Aidan. How could you get yourself hooked on the same person
for so long? You shouldnât forget how hard youâve fought to be here. You claim that no one has the
power to tell you what to do, yet you listened to your parentsâ orders and got married to that woman,
didnât you? Furthermore, I bet your father doesnât know about her pregnancy yet, right?â Georgina
asked.
The temperature in the office seemed to turn a few degrees colder the moment she finished her
sentence. âWho told you about that?â The words Aidan spat out of his mouth were like ice shards
stabbing through Georginaâs skin. His icy gaze made Georgina clench her fists in fear. Even though her
lashes were trembling, she kept a smile on her face. âThe walls have ears, donât they?â she said with a
smile. âHowever, you donât have to worry. Iâm not going to use this to threaten you or anything. I just
wanted toââ Aidan scoffed once more. âWhat makes you think Iâm going to let you threaten me?â
Georgina froze upon hearing this. Then, Aidan got to his feet and walked over to the floor-to-ceiling
window, where he stood with one hand stuck into his pocket. There wasnât any emotion in his voice as
he spoke. âShe got pregnant after getting a divorce with me. Why should I take responsibility for
something that isnât mine? Even if the childâs mine, do you think I care about it?â he asked. âEven if
youâre not sure whether the childâs yours, I know your dadâs going to order for the child to be born.
Then, he will get you guys to run DNA tests just to check if the babyâs yours. Have you thought about
this, Aidan? Even if the child isnât yours, your dad might do something in order to take away the power
you have in your hands. He mightââ âYou sure know my dad well, huh?â Aidan uttered with a
somewhat sarcastic smirk.
âIâm just sharing my predictions.â Georgina walked over to him before continuing in a soft voice. âIt
doesnât matter if you donât want to get married to me now, Aidan. You can consider whatever I just said,
and give me an answer when youâre ready. As an act of sincerity, Iâll show up at the charity dinner with
you tomorrow. Then, it will ruin your fatherâs initial plan.
⦠Jonathan knocked on the door and entered the room after Georgina left. âShould I prepare a female
partner for the charity event youâre attending tomorrow, President Pearson?â Aidan turned around and
gazed at the entrance before speaking. âWell, thereâs a living and breathing option standing right there.â
âAre you talking about Miss Crossley?â Jonathan asked. âSheâs right. The fastest way to stop Gordon
now is for me to marry someone from the Crossleys. This would benefit both parties,â Aidan uttered.
âPresident Pearson, do you meanâ¦â Jonathan was shocked.
Aidan gazed at the other man with a blank look on his face. âIâd save myself 30 years of hard work if I
got married to the Crossleys, wouldnât I?â
Jonathan was speechless. Since when did President Pearson learn to crack such dark jokes? Aidan
didnât seem like he was waiting for Jonathanâs response as he continued talking after that. âIs Lux
Magazine on the charity dinnerâs invitation list?â
âYes.â Jonathan hastily responded to the manâs question after he recovered from his shock. âAs per the
charity dinnerâs rules, Lux sells one of their jewelry pieces. Theyâre also getting two of their in-house
jewelry designers to auction their own designs.â
âSince when did Lux get their own in-house jewelry designers?â Aidan asked. Jonathan was
momentarily speechless but quickly reminded Aidan of the other designer. âQueenie, the other in-house
designer, is the one that took Mrs. Pearsonâs spot to go to Paris three years ago. She came over to visit
you in Pearson Group once, and you gave her the opportunity that Mrs. Pearson didnât wantâ¦â
âI remember her now,â Aidan said while giving his assistant a blank gaze. âYou sure have a lot of
answers, huh?â
Jonathan chuckled. âDo you have any other orders, President Pearson?â
âI want you to get someone to take a picture of Leannaâs product tomorrow,â Aidan uttered after a
moment of silence.
âCan I get President Woodley to do it?â Jonathan asked.
âGet someone else. Heâs too obvious,â Aidan replied.
âGot it. Iâll go deal with it now.â
