Chapter 30
Forcefully Mated to Him
Ajax:
December Second.
"We have three more intervals left before every nonessential pack member is tucked safely in the bunker." Cipher says as she scans her list one more time. I nod my head as I go over the numbers once more. I just wanted everyone to be out of harms way already.
"Good, hurry up. I want you to go over and help set up the med camp with the pack doctors when you're done with that. Once this thing is over I want to try and help all of our injured to our best abilities." I say shoving my fingers through my hair. A wave of frustration consumed me, causing my muscles to become tense.
"You got it, brother." She says quickly, before returning to her duties. I glance back over to Weston who just finished with the last warrior.
They step of the sparring mat and he sends the young man over to the other side of the room with the rest of the warriors. Hundreds of them stood around waiting. They waited for my command. They waited for another Alpha to invade our lands. They waited to fight for their pack, for their blood.
Weston and Samuel make their way over to me and I huff out an annoyed sighed. We have to go over the battle strategy one more time, just to make sure each of us has got it right. I spread out the map of the territory lands on the make shift table that stood off to the side of the large gym.
I was just about to speak as the gym doors were slammed open. A breathless Marcus scans the room. His eyes stop at mine and for a moment it seemed as though he feared for his life. He jogs over to me and I step away from the table. What is he doing here? He's supposed to be on his way to take over guarding Octavia.
"Alpha." He bows respectfully once he is standing in front of me. "I'm afraid I have some bad news."
I suck in a deep breath of air as my fist clench at my sides. The whole room goes silent and everyones ears perk up. This could be it. They could be setting foot onto our territory right now. I don't allow myself to breath, a moment of fear washes over me, but Iimmediately push it away. I don't fear Jalex or his pack.
I nod once giving Marcus the okay to speak. His eyes shift for a moment. "I was on my way to make my shift, standing guard for the Luna, but when I arrived everyone inside had been slaughtered. There's no sign of Cynthia or Octavia."
Everything stops. Not one even dares to blink or breathe. The room fell silent, the only thing that could be heard was the howling wind outside.
There's no sign of Cynthia or Octavia. His words ring through my mind.
I break. A ferocious growl rips through my chest as I flip over the make shift table and punch at the concrete wall beside me, causing pieces of it to crumble off. Everyone jumps and takes a few steps back. My chest heaves up and down angrily. My whole body is shaking. My wolf is beyond angry. All I could see is red. I'm going to murder someone.
"What the fuck do you mean there's no sign of them? Where the fuck are they?!" I yell out loudly stalking over to Marcus wanting nothing more than to strangle him. I refrain. This isn't his fault. He's just the messenger.
"There is only one survivor and he doesn't have much time left. He's currently being interrogated, before being brought to his family. I've already had our best tracker sent out to see how far the scents lead us." His eyes refuse to meet mine, finding his shoes much more interesting. I take in a deep breath. My chest hurts. I feel like I cant breathe. I'm aware that my lungs are receiving oxygen, but it doesn't feel that way.
She's gone. He has her. I should've kept her by my side. This is all my fault.
"Weston, select our two best warriors and go over the battle strategy with them once more. Samuel you're coming with me." I don't allow any room for argument and no one dares to disagree with me. "Take me to the survivor." I all but growl towards Marcus.
He leads us over to the med camp, all of us practically running. I push myself to run faster as a loud growl rips through the air. Everyone around the camp stops jumps in fear.
"How fucking dare she?!"
Cipher.
I push through people and the make shift curtains and cots before making my way into the building. Cipher storms out into the hall. A broken clipboard in her hands. Her breath is ragged and her eyes almost black. She tosses the clipboard to the side and lets out and angry scream.
"You!" She points her finger at me as I run up to her, grasping her by the shoulders as she shook violently. "You left our Luna alone with that psychopath!" She yells at me, beating my chest with her fist. My brows furrow at her words. What? What is she talking about?
The hall is filled with doctors and assistants as a bunch of loud noises go off in the room beside us. The guard is dying. His mate and child cry and sob over his body, begging him to hold on longer. Cipher continues to scream and yell things at me and Samuel, but all I can do is watch as Lucy Maxwell loses her mate. She holds her daughter close to her chest as she heaves heavy sobs. The little girls eyes are squeezed shut as her chubby cheeks are stained with tears. Lola Maxwell. She loves to be read to by her Luna.
Octavia. I snap out of my daze and turn back to find Cipher and Samuel screaming at each other, an inch of space between them.
"Enough!" I yell yanking them both by their shirts and into a separate room.
"A woman is losing her mate. A little girl is losing her father. And yet you two are yelling just outside of their room acting like fucking maniacs!"
Cipher crosses her arms stubbornly and Samuel turns and kicks over a nearby chair.
"Someone tell me what the fuck is going." I spit out harshly, tired of this whole situation.
Octavia:
My lip quivers as I hold back more tears. I've only been here for about forty minutes and I'm sure everyone thinks I'm a big fat baby. At least that is what I'm making myself seem like. Fucking pull your shit together.
A shaky breath escapes my lips. I grab onto the chains, a burning sensation pulses through the palms of my hands but I ignore it as I try to rip the chain from the concrete. Just like the last twenty times I've tried it, it didn't work.
Because the chains are made of silver they're keeping my abilities at bay. I want to scream out in frustration, but theres no use in that because I'm still gagged. My shoulders sag with defeat as I lean up against the cold wall. They have me holed up in a musty basement. It has one window, reinforced with steel bars. It's too far for me to even reach but I could feel the cool draft that seeped through. It's ridiculously cold down here.
I've only seen him once. They look alike. It was scary, the resemblance my mate shared with my kidnapper. If I hadn't know any better, I'd say they're related. I bring my knees to my chest, trying to keep as warm as possible.
The door creaks and squeals loudly as its pulled open, revealing how dated this house must be. Three sets of foot steps can be heard coming down the stairs. My head perks up at the sound of her voice. That alone has my blood boiling. When I get the fuck out of these chains I'm going to tear that pathetic bitch to shreds.
"Hello, my little pet." Her voice is shrill as she releases an annoying giggle. I don't give her the satisfaction of looking at her. I need to find a way out of here. Out of these chains.
I flinch as a bucket of cold water is thrown onto my already shivering frame. That is the third bucket of cold water they've thrown at me. They want me to reveal battle strategies, fucking morons. I don't know jack about what Ajax was planning on doing.
The sound of Siren's heels resound throughout the room as she creeps closer to me. Squatting she grabs ahold of my face roughly, squeezing my jaw with unnecessary force. Her brown eyes were dark and filled with amusement.
"Tell us what your pathetic mate is planning." She whispers through clenched teeth. She yanks the cloth out of my mouth and tosses it to the side.
I laugh a little. "If you truly believed he was pathetic you wouldn't care what his plans are. You wouldn't fear him this much."
Her hand connects to my cheek with a loud smack. I bite my lip, holding back the tears that threatened to spill. I hold on to my sore cheek for a moment. She laughs along with Cynthia and I roll my eyes, before gathering the salvia and a bit of blood that pooled in my mouth. I turn to her quickly and spit directly into her face.
She shrieks, falling onto her ass.
"Ajax is going to tear you apart. Limb by limb." My eyes connecting with all three of them. If Ajax didn't do it, I will. Ted didn't seem fazed at all as Cynthia rushes to Siren's side, giving me a dirty look.
Another set of footsteps can be heard coming down the stairs and everyone straightens up and backs away from me. The smell of honey wafts through the room, almost making it feel warm. Almost.
"Siren, don't you ever fucking learn?" Jalex's face was smooth and expressionless. His voice cold and uncaring.
"I'm sorry, my love. It won't happen again." Her voice shook with fear as she took a small step towards him. She was making herself small for him and I don't understand why. What did he do to her? What did he promise her?
"No, I suppose it wont." Jalex sighs and make his way over to Ted. He whispers something quickly and Ted nods his head.
"Wait!" Siren shrieks as Ted takes multiple advancing steps towards her. "I can do better, I swear!" Tears begin to spill down her cheeks as Ted grabs her roughly and drags her back up the stairs. I don't bother trying to listen to where they're going or what he is going to do to her. The basement is soundproof. I cant hear anything on the outside. Not even through the creaky old window.
He turns to face me, his ice cold blue eyes were void.
"Tell me, why haven't you and Ajax mated?"
My brow raises in suspicion. Why does he need to know such a thing?
"I-I dont see how any of that is your business or h-how it matters to our situation." My whole body trembled beneath my soaking wet clothes. I never knew that I could be this cold, it must have something to do with the silver chains. I feel like a mere human being.
"It matters because you're in heat."Cynthia scoffs and rolls her eyes at me. She loves to pretend like she knows everything.
"W-what?" I ask my body beginning to shake more than it was before.
"Did you think drowning you in cold water was a torture strategy?" Jalex raises his eyebrows as he leans down in front of me. I push myself as far back as I could, keeping as much distance between us as possible. "Oh no, no. I'm just trying to keep your temperature down so you don't die on me. A shewolf's heat can be lethal, fatal even."
My jaw clenches as he pushes through my safe space. His nose brushing against the side of my temple as he dares to connect his lips to my skin.
"Tell me, is he scared?"
I release a breath I didn't know I was holding. "You should be the one who's scared. After all, he did kill your daddy."
"Yes, he did kill them and for that he will suffer an unbearable death."
"Them?" Confusion laced my tone. Who's them? Ajax only killed the man who violated him and his father who allowed such horrible events to take place.
A dark chuckle rises from his chest as he pushes his hands through my tangled hair causing me to flinch. His touch was soft at first but became rough quickly. He pulled on my hair tightly, bringing my face closer to his.
"If you know anything about that pathetic son of a bitch's battle plan, I will give you a death more unbearable than his." He practically roared in my face. With a violently shove he releases his hold on me, my head bouncing off of the wall behind me. I clench my jaw in anger, trying not to release any painful noises. I didn't want to give these people anymore satisfaction I'm done crying like a weak child.
"You're all, fools." I sigh and rest my aching head on my knees.
"Shut up, bitch." Cynthia sneers. I don't bother to look up as a set of foot steps begin to descend the stairs.
My eyes close tiredly and my mind immediately pictures my mate. Once I feared him so greatly that I risked my life to get away from him and now I want nothing more than for him to come get me. To rescue me.
I shouldn't need him to rescue me. I am better than this. Although these silver chains don't leave me with much of a choice.
"Alpha, the warriors are lining up now as we speak and will be ready for battle in thirty minutes. There has been a wolf detected a few yards outside of the territory lines, what would you like to do." Ted's voice is taught and strict, almost scaring me. That man is too uptight for his own good.
"Great. Whomever they are, kill them. Also I want her ready for transport, grab the other chains."
"Right away, Alpha." Ted exits the basement and I lift my head just in time to see Jalex and Cynthia leave along with him.
Once the creaky old door shuts I admit to yanking at the chains once more. A small grunt escapes my lips as all the energy leaves my body, causing my limbs to fall limp. I don't know why I keep trying, each time I fail.
I rest my still aching head against the cool wall and wait. Wait for opportunity to strike.
I'm not sure how much time had passed, but I could feel myself become a bit warmer. It felt nice to not shiver violently and I feel a bit stronger. I'm not going to try yanking at my chains though. I search the ground for anything sharp I could possibly pick the lock with but all I could find was a small pebble. How useless is that?
More time passed and I hadn't heard a peep from the three freaks who captured me. My mind did wonder about Siren. She seemed genuinely afraid when Ted dragged her away. It was sad how badly she wanted to please Jalex. I don't know what he's promised her, but I'm sure he hasn't delivered. It seems to me he treats her like trash.
"Ted!" Someone from the first level of the floor shouted. I could tell they were on the first floor because with these silver chains on I could here any farther than that. They must've left the door open a crack. There was a shuffling of foot steps before the creaky door swung open and two sets of foot steps could be heard descending the stairs.
Ted and some other burly looking werwolf appears before me carrying a ripped army green duffle bag. He dropped it on to the floor lazily and gave me a smile. His dark eyes and greasy hair gave me bad vibes. Who was this guy.
"Well aren't you pretty?" He chuckles as he bends down to unzip the duffle bag.
"Shut up and keep it moving. Boss wants her upstairs and out of here with the rest of us in five minutes." Ted says pulling on a thick pair of black leather gloves. Is he going to remove my chains? Is this my chance to escape?
My heart rate increased slight at the thought of getting out of here. My thoughts faltered as I imagine taking on the both of these men. Would I even be able to take down ted on my own? Gosh I am the most pathetic Alpha female I've ever met. I'm sure cipher would've figured away out of this, she's a bad ass. Hell. I'm sure Cipher would never even get caught in a mess like this. Only an idiot like me could manage do something so dumb
I watch carefully ad Ted removes a lighter and smaller pair of silver chains from the duffle bag. Great, I'm really never going to escape. He gives me warning glare, almost begging me not to do anything stupid. But like I said I'm an idiot.
The moment Ted gets close I lurch forward and take a bite out if his jogger clad legs, my fangs tearing through his pants and flesh.
"What the fuck?!" He growls jumping back and nearly falling. He drops the silver chains and grasps on to the fresh wound. I spit out the metalic tasting blood and smile a little. "You fucking crazy bitch!"
The man behind him begins to cackle, nearly falling over from laughter. "Oh jeez! She got you good!" He had a bit of a southern accent which made me wonder where he's from and whats he doing way out here in the east.
"Shut the hell up Rick." Ted grumbles and he climbs his way back up and onto his feet. I gulp down the lump forming in my throat and swallow the fear that began to build. Obviously I knew that I would get into trouble by doing that but it felt good to fight back.
"You're going to regret that." He shakes his head in disappointment. His grip tightens onto the silver chains that he picked up.
"Go ahead. Injure me. Hurt me. You'll just anger them both."
"Both?" Rick questions.
"When my Ajax sees me in this condition, freezing, battered, and bruised he's going to make your deaths ten times worse. He'll tear you all apart."
"I dont fear anyone." Ted smiles before raising the chains and allowing them to come crashing down onto me. One time. Two times. Three times.
The silver makes contact with skin, muscle and blood making me feel weak and coaxing me into the darkness until I cant see anything.
IMPORTANT:
Im sorry for the delay. I obviously know how the story will end at this point and I have known for a while now but I have grown tired of writing not only this story but the rest that are on my page and I apologize. I get a few reads on this story so thank you for reading but I just don't feel motivated to do it anymore.
Even though the numbers are there I feel as though people are not actually reading it and that sounds strange. I have gone through some pretty rough things these past two months which is why I disappeared again. Now im back and would like to finish this story so that I can give my ghost readers the proper ending that they deserve.
If you read all of that thank you. please comment and press the star to vote because even though ive lost motivation to write it still means a lot.
