Chapter 1

Prologue

Shattered not broken

Prologue

After the accident — a single misstep on the grand staircase — Stella's soul was caught in the friction between Reality and Unreality. It shattered.

Scattered across countless dimensions, her soul fragments were swept into new lives. Some ruled empires, others served tables. A few became heroes; more turned into villains. The universe accepted each of them as whole, their soul power indistinguishable from any other being.

But deep down, each fragment felt it — the ache of incompleteness. A silent emptiness they carried from birth, impossible to explain.

Among them, one of the largest fragments had risen to greatness — known as the Grand Mage of Soul Arts and Space-Time. She held immense knowledge, power enough to bend reality, yet something was missing.

Then, one day, she encountered another soul. A stranger who felt... familiar.

When they met, both were overwhelmed by an instinctive desire to merge. The Mage peered into the other’s soul and saw it — a perfect match, like puzzle pieces longing to be whole.

They merged. No one was destroyed; no one was consumed. Their lives, memories, and powers combined into something greater. And with that joy came clarity.

The Grand Mage — now more whole — began to search across her dimension for the rest of her soul. Fragment by fragment, she reclaimed herself.

But then, she hit a wall. A boundary.

Even with power vast enough to shatter worlds, she couldn’t breach the edge of her dimension. Not even gods or eldritch beings could help — they believed nothing existed beyond it.

But Stella remembered. She knew other dimensions existed. Parts of her soul were still out there — unreachable, yet real.

And then, fate intervened.

In the dark of space, she found it — a colossal ring shaped like the symbol for infinity. Floating. Silent. Forgotten.

At first, she mistook it for space debris. But the moment her fingers brushed it, her body trembled. Goosebumps spread across her skin. Her barriers — powerful enough to withstand all gods in her realm — shattered like paper.

The metal pierced her chest, embedding itself into her. A storm of foreign energy surged into her mind, and darkness swallowed her.

When she awoke, she remembered.

A new memory — not hers, yet part of her — had fused into her consciousness.

That “ring” was the Core of the Beyond, the last remnant of a being unlike anything else. A solitary existence born from the concentrated will of countless universes.

It had once drifted through dimensions, seeking kin. But wherever it went, gods panicked. Worlds tried to destroy it in fear.

Eventually, it chose to end itself.

Its body faded — but the Core remained. Waiting.

And Stella, through unimaginable luck (or perhaps something else), had merged with it.

Her hair and eyes now shimmered like a night sky — endless, starlit, unknowable. Her power reached absurd new heights, enough to tear through dimensions like silk.

With her new strength, she completed her mission. She collected every last fragment of her soul across the multiverse.

Until only one remained.

The original.

She stood beside her unconscious body — the girl who had once fallen down the stairs — now just a shell on a bed.

But this time, she didn’t fuse into the last fragment.

She let it fuse into her.

And as Stella Rivera’s original body opened its eyes, the stars themselves seemed to reflect in them. Her true self had returned.

Her mission — her reason for existence — was over.

She was whole.

And, with nothing left to do

…

She yawned.

Then closed her eyes and went back to sleep.
