Chapter 20

Being human

Blood Traitor//Derek Hale

The only thing that kept Luke from attacking Peter was the stare that Scott was giving him.

"There are others who can help me get what I want, Scott. More innocent - and far more vulnerable." Fear settled in Scott's eyes as he bolted out, not giving Luke any chance to stop him. It wasn't like the vampire could do anything. He was getting weaker day by day.

-Time skip-

As annoying as it was to hear Jackson's voice again, Luke couldn't help but join in on the conversation that Whitmore had with Stiles and Scott.

"You want me to take her to the formal?" Asked Jackson in disbelief.

"I don't want you to. I need you to." Said frustrated Scott.

"Screw you. You know what? Screw you too. In fact, screw each other." Luke rolled his eyes.

"Hey, you know he saved your life, right?" Pointed out Stiles.

"He left me for dead."

"He got shot for you." Growled Luke.

"Oh, yeah? Show me the bullet wound."

"You know it healed."

"Convenient." Luke was seriously considering slashing Jackson's throat.

"Just do it for Allison, okay? She's in serious danger. I'm talking around - the - clock danger. She needs someone to keep an eye on her at the dance."

"Have her dad do it, okay? He's the one actually equipped to handle this."

"How am I supposed to do that and keep him from finding out about me?" Asked Scott and almost pleaded Jackson with his eyes.

"Not my problem."

"You're her friend too. You are. All that time that you spent with her to get to me you can't tell me that you didn't get to know her and like her. It's Allison. It's impossible not to like her. You can't tell me that you don't care if she gets hurt."

"What if I get hurt?"

"Then it's worth it."

"Not to me."

"Oh, my lord... All of this wouldn't be so difficult if you just decided to come to me for help for your little supernatural problem. I could provide you with power that would make you invincible." Smirked Luke and the other three boys were staring at him with wide eyes.

"Oh yes, just imagine. No bullet could ever hurt you; you'd stay young and handsome forever; you'd be the fastest living being on the Earth and let us not forget about the ability to make anyone do exactly what you want."

"What would I become?"

"A vampire of course. Just imagine it. And there are way less vampire hunters than werewolf ones." Luke saw the lust for power in Whitmore's eyes.

"The only not very pleasant thing would be the process of making you a vampire, but let's be honest, changing into any supernatural creature is never a pleasant experience."

"H-how would you change me?" Shuttered Jackson.

"All you'd have to do is drink just a little bit of my blood, the rest would be up to me."

"What rest?" Asked Stiles, who remembered that the vampire blood is poisonous according to the research he did. Luke's eyes hardened.

"Ah, you know, after the venom in the blood kills you, I'd have to burry you in the graveyard, then, after you would come back to life, you'd have to dig yourself out. Then you would be hungry. So hungry that not even those you love the most would be able to stop you. You would kill them, drain them of every single drop of blood they have in their body. The next thing would be the sunrise. The moment the light would hit your skin, it would burn right off. If you'd survive that, then you'd be hit with the realization that you can't feel the warmth. Your fingers would be forever cold. And I'm not even talking about the regret you'd fell after the images of their dead bodies overflows your mind." Stiles paled, Luke was not talking about normal way of becoming a vampire, he was remembering how he became one. And it sounded horrific.

"What I'm trying to achieve here is snapping some sense into you. I'd do almost anything to just receive the infinite sleep. I'd do almost anything to be normal. Human." Luke the side glanced at Stiles.

"Human is the most supernatural being in Beacon Hills right now."
