Chapter 789 - Thunder Prison

The Blood Devouring Domain was still blocking the view. The clash from the two fused Emperor Seals and the Ever Changing Spear had destroyed the arena and sent a large plume of dust and sand into the air, blocking everyone’s vision temporarily.

No one knew that Long Chen was currently holding the Three Thousand Star Clusters and used it to pierced the Ever Changing Spear. Situ Yu used the last of his strength in a bid to destroy Long Chen and take the Three Thousand Star Clusters.

A cracking sound made Situ Yu despair, and his face paled. He saw the Ever Changing Spear slowly disintegrating from the tip after being hit by the Three Thousand Star Clusters. Situ Yu's eyes were wide with shock.

“There’s nothing impossible about it. Die.” Long Chen’s Three Thousand Star Clusters proceeded to pierce Situ Yu’s heart.

Long Chen put his Divine Weapon away after Situ Yu’s heart was destroyed. The latter’s other organs were also slowly being destroyed by Long Chen’s essence. Situ Yu was dead.

Long Chen removed the Blood Devouring Domain, and everything quieted down. The crowd could finally see what had happened in the arena.

Long Chen had only brandished the Three Thousand Star Clusters for a brief time, but everyone had felt its terrifying power.

After the power of the Three Thousand Star Clusters disappeared, Long Chen and Situ Yu were seen standing. Long Chen was unharmed, but the spectators with better eyesight saw a hole in Situ Yu’s chest. Blood flowed out slowly from it.

Everyone had expected that someone would die today. Situ Yu would've needed to kill Long Chen to take the Seven Star Lord’s inheritance, but they never thought he would be the one who would die instead.

The brief silence was replaced by an uproar, with the Demon clan shouting the loudest. They still didn’t accept Long Chen as one of them and instead placed all of their hope in Situ Yu. No one had expected that Situ Yu would lose.

“Little Yu!” Situ Yao never thought his grandson would die in this short fight.

He had painstakingly raised his grandson for many years, and now Long Chen had killed him. Situ Yao could not accept the result, and killing intent flowed out of his eyes.

“Die!” He ran towards the arena and appeared beside Situ Yu first. He hugged Situ Yu and confirmed that his grandson was now just a corpse.

“Long Chen...”

Situ Yao’s eyes were bloodshot when he glared at Long Chen.

Lei Ji was the first to move. “Situ Yao clearly wants to attack Long Chen. Should I go?”

He had asked first because he noticed that Bai Lan hadn’t done anything.

Bai Lan smiled mysteriously. “Don’t worry. We can just sit here and wait. Situ Yu lost even with the Ever Changing Spear. I doubt that Long Chen would lose to Situ Yao.”

Lei Ji pondered for a moment and then nodded in agreement.

That was why he hadn’t moved. But what Lei Ji failed to notice was that Bai Lan was scanning his surroundings carefully, not because of Long Chen, but because of the suspicious movements of certain individuals.

Situ Yu’s death caused a large ruckus, and a lot of people surged towards the arena. They wanted to inspect what had happened, especially the members of the Demon clan. All of them were angry and wanted to tear Long Chen to pieces. If remaining Sect Elders weren’t maintaining the order, the entire place would’ve delved into chaos.

Even the people from the Thunder clan couldn’t sit still as they approached Long Chen.

The situation slowly turned chaotic.

“Sect Elder Situ, kill him!”

“He has broken the rules and killed Big Brother Situ! Kill him!”

Bai Lan said nothing, but the rest of the Demon clan started shouting one after another. They wanted to pin down Long Chen to kill him!

Situ Yao couldn’t control himself when he confirmed his grandson’s death. His anger boiled over, and he glared at Long Chen as he carefully stored Situ Yu’s corpse. Situ Yao only made his move when everyone was tense. He blatantly ignored Bai Lan and Lei Ji and he attacked Long Chen using his strongest technique, the Heavenly Demon Transformation Fist’s Tribulations of Three Lifetimes.

Everyone clamored when they saw Situ Yao attacking Long Chen. Situ Yao was roughly as strong as Situ Yu, but his standing in the Demon clan was much higher. There were very few people who commanded as much respect in the Demon clan and the Divine Demon Empire.

But another incident took place at the same exact moment.

There were two Thunder Elders stationed near the Demon clan and where Bai Lan was. One of them was Lei Yuan, who was standing near Bai Lan. All of a sudden, lightning surged out of their bodies.

The lightning was so fast that it instantly enveloped Bai Lan and the Sect Elders.

“What is this?” The Thunder clan’s treasure packed a lot of destructive power, so the crackling lightning burned many of the weaker disciples. Even though they weren’t killed, the lightning singed their flesh open.

There were two such attacks. One was aimed at the Demon clan’s Sect Elders, while the other was aimed at Bai Lan and Lei Ji. Bai Lan didn’t hesitate to shield his daughters. Lei Ji, on the other hand, immediately recognized what it was. He was livid, but there was nothing he could do, because the lightning cage was so fast that it entrapped him, Bai Lan, Su Xue, and Su Yan.

“Who used the Thunder Prison? Who used the trump card of our clan?” Lei Ji was seething as he unleashed a thunderous roar. Everyone around him was pushed back, except for Bai Lan and his daughters.

The weaker members of the Thunder clan spat blood after being hit by the shockwave of Lei Ji’s shout.

The lightning formed a circular cage and trapped all of them. The lightning was special in that it was a fierce purple. It flashed menacingly around them, and the burning energy made everyone wary of touching it.

Bai Lan and Lei Ji were trapped. The Sect Elders were trapped too. The disciples around them weren’t protected like Su Yan and Su Xue were, so the purple lightning killed many of the ones who were close to the sources. The Sect Elders recognized what it was and stopped moving.

They had seen how the Patriarch of the Thunder clan was imprisoned by the Thunder Elders!

What is the Thunder clan doing? Everyone had the same question and were shocked by the sudden development. Long Chen’s duel was surprising enough, and now the Thunder clan was popping out another surprise?

“Thunder Elders, what are you doing?” Lei Ji calmed down and looked to them for answers. The seven Thunder Elders were standing in front of him, while the rest of the Thunder clan was following them. Most of the Thunder clan didn’t know what was going on, but they did know that this was an internal conflict between the Thunder Elders and their patriarch. Both sides were the giants of the Thunder clan and represented the two largest factions. Lei Ji was the strongest member, while the seven Thunder Elders’ influence over the Thunder clan was deep.

Situ Yao stopped when he saw what was happening. All of the Sect Elders except for him had been entrapped by the Thunder Prison. Situ Yao carefully considered his options here.

It was clear that the Thunder clan had a significant goal to achieve if they had used two of the five Thunder Prisons. The Thunder Prisons were their final trump card, and they had actually used it to imprison the two patriarchs.

The Thunder Elders stood in front of Lei Ji without fear of their patriarch’s glare.
