Chapter 772 - Unreasonable

The eight Sect Elders weren’t that easy to fool, especially Situ Yao. He knew the truth about Long Chen. The grand elder that spoke to Long Chen looked back at the other grand elders. All of them came to a silent decision to take it by force, or the situation would be out of their control once Bai Lan made his appearance.

The eight of them moved in unison. They ignored Suxue and Suyan and encircled them from eight different directions. Each of them was at the Ninth Earthly Martial Stage, so Long Chen couldn’t defeat even one of them, let alone eight!

Suxue could only handle one of them, though they naturally dared not harm her.

“Now!” The eight of them moved together at an incredible speed. The regular cultivators spectating from down below saw that they had no chance of obtaining even a sliver of the inheritance.

Suxue and Suyan panicked. They never thought that the elders would be so shameless. Their faces were red with anger!

“Big Brother, be careful!” Suyan warned Long Chen.

She wasn’t aware that Long Chen was strong enough to kill someone at the Eighth Earthly Martial Stage. She thought Suxue was the one who had killed Chen Yang.

But Long Chen wasn’t in a hurry, because he sensed that Bai Lan and Lei Ji were finally moving. When the Sect Elders launched themselves at Long Chen, Bai lan and Lei Ji appeared spontaneously in front of him. The other people from the Demon clan joined in and agreed too. They wanted the Demon clan to obtain the Seven Star Lord’s inheritance as they would have a chance to learn it too.

Situ Yu was one of them. He had actually been waiting for Situ Yao to return with the good news, but he had never expected something like this to happen. When he arrived here, he saw that Situ Yao had already changed back to his normal attire and was standing with the other elders.

Everyone was looking at Bai Lan with confusion.

Another grand elder chimed in. “Patriarch, are you thinking of protecting him just because he saved Princess Yan’er? You need to consider which is more important, the inheritance of the Seven Star Lord or the life of a mere girl. We will not agree to your decision if you refuse to see the bigger picture!”

His words were sharp, and everyone supported him. The Demon clan had risen to its current strength due to the inheritance of the Divine Demon Lord. The inheritance of the Seven Star Lord would increase the Demon clan’s strength to greater heights. No one would be in favor if Bai Lan were to give up the inheritance for the sake of his daughter.

Suyan cried out of frustration when she heard that. This was the first time she realized that her uncles, who usually treated her well, were venomous snakes! They would sacrifice her for the sake of the Seven Star Lord’s inheritance.
