Chapter 756 The Stewart’s Only Hope

Willow was too embarrassed by the situation to think about how to answer their questions.

The truth was, she was not pregnant.

But she knew that telling the truth would only disappoint everyone at the table. Melinda asked, “Don’t feel embarrassed about this, Willow. Pregnancy is a big deal for every woman. So, how many months pregnant are you?”

Willow tried to shift the attention away. “You should ask Caspian. He knows it better than I do.”

Willow also wanted to have a baby with Caspian, but he had been busy.

They had also been using protection, which meant that there wasn’t a chance for her to be pregnant.

Caspian was stunned as he wondered what he was supposed to know better.

He noticed that everyone was looking straight at him.

“Caspian, Willow’s too embarrassed to talk about it, so you spill the beans already!”

Caspian shook his head and replied, “You guys shouldn’t be acting so nosy about our private matters.”

“We’re worried about Willow. We’ll have to take good care of her, and we need to know how long she’s been pregnant!”

“You should be more careful in treating your pregnant wife from now on.”

Everyone at the table gave their comments.

Logan and Sherry were also extremely anxious.

Caspian realized that this wasn’t something he could fool everyone over.

Everyone at the table raised their glasses and put all their hard feelings with each other behind them.

Logan kept looking for opportunities to strike up a conversation with Sherry throughout the dinner, but the latter kept ignoring him.

He felt helpless even though he still cared about her.

Sherry was both embarrassed and anxious.

Caspian wasn’t able to do anything other than suppress his anger so as not to cause trouble for everyone at the table.

However, Willow had different ideas from Caspian.

She believed it would be best for Sherry and Logan to reconcile since she could tell Logan still loved the other.

But Willow had no idea what to say or how to mend a relationship that was broken for 20 years.

The Stewarts also wished for Logan and Sherry to reconcile.

If it happened, the Stewarts and the Massey’s relationship would be official, and everyone would be overjoyed.

The Stewarts began to persuade Logan and Sherry to reconcile with each other.

“Mrs. Massey, your husband had been looking for you for 20 years. Why don’t

you return to his side?”

“That’s right! Someone like Mr. Massey could have easily looked for another woman if he never loved you. But he waited for you for 20 years!”

“It’s been 20 years already, and Caspian’s safe and sound as well. Why don’t you finally reconcile with your husband?”

Sherry was about to open her mouth when Caspian replied in her stead, “Please stop it. This is my family’s private matter.”

Marilyn was furious. “How could you say that, Caspian? Think about how much your mother had suffered alone for 20 years! Do you want her to keep on living like this?”

Kate chimed in, “That’s right! You’ve also just lost your job. Do you still want to involve your mother in your unstable life?”

Caspian was speechless as they had made some good arguments.

But then again, Caspian believed that he could provide a life without worries for Sherry.

Caspian didn’t fully blame Logan for their tragic past. He was mostly furious that the Masseys shunned Sherry.

Caspian calmly replied, “We can wait until I’ve finished investigating what really happened 20 years ago.”

Logan smiled and replied, “I don’t mind. I’ve already waited for 20 years. I’m not in a hurry for you to change your mind. But for today, let’s just enjoy a meal as we celebrate Mrs. Stewart Senior’s birthday.”

Logan knew better than anyone that reconciling with Caspian and Sherry would take time.

As long as he kept in contact with his family, they would surely return with him to the Masseys.

Logan left Stewart Residence after the dinner.

Caspian, Willow, and Sherry had also returned to Riverside Villa.

After all the guests had left, the Stewarts started unboxing the gifts from Logan. to find priceless antiques.

Kate was beaming with joy. “As expected of Mr. Massey!”

Melinda chimed in, “That’s right! We will soon rise to fame and power if we play our cards right with the Masseys!”

Kate explained, “I think only Willow will be able to convince Sherry to change her mind now.”

Marilyn asked, “Why do you say that?”

“I’ve noticed that Sherry treats Willow better than anyone else. I’m sure she would listen to Willow.”

Kate could tell that Sherry truly favored Willow as her daughter–in–law.
