Charles sat on the sofa with a sunken yet serious expression.

Jean seemingly came home in a hurry. “Dad, I just tried to visit the governor, but Deputy Gibson was standing guard at the front and barred everyone from visiting.”

He urgently picked up his pace to finish the task assigned by Caspian.

After Alton had left, Sylvia spoke up once more, “One more thing, Caspian. The Hoff family’s butler wishes to speak with you.”

Caspian was amused. “Oh? The Hoff family’s butler wishes to see me? At a time like this? Very well.”

Two minutes later, Joseph sheepishly entered the luxury suite.

He had first seen Caspian back during the Hoff family’s banquet.

He could tell that Caspian was a powerful and smart man. He wasn’t someone he could afford to offend.

Joseph’s legs had given out right as he finished his words. He knelt down before Caspian while beginning to cry out of fear.

He was worried that receiving a declaration of war might anger Caspian and his life would be forfeited.
