Lord Chapter 13
The Almighty Lord Caspian
Chapter 13 Buying Over Southlake Corporation
Moments later, the Stewarts finally regained their senses. Then, they burst out laughing.
âHas he lost his mind? Holding his wedding on the same day as Mr. Richard! Heâs going to humiliate
himself!â
âA grand wedding, huh? Heâs not only a loser but also a show-off. I canât get why Willow likes him.â
âLook. His clothes have faded due to frequent washing. Yet he boasts about holding a wedding a
thousand times grander than Aliciaâs!â
âWillow, I really donât understand what you see in him. You know what? I think you should divorce him. The sooner, the better. You have so many admirers. Pick anyone, and theyâll surpass this loser easily.â 1
Willowâs expression darkened as she listened to her familyâs jeers. She wanted nothing but to shut
Caspian up.
She was furious after listening to his bragging. âCaspian, why would you brag about having a grand
wedding? Can you please be more practical?
âI never knew you were such a show-off! Youâre enjoying the moment, no doubt. But have you thought
about how humiliated Iâll feel when the time comes?â
But then, he gazed straight into her eyes. His gaze was solemn and passionate. âHoney, Iâm not bragging.
Iâll walk the talk. When the time comes, Iâll ensure you become Southlake Cityâs happiest bride.â
She was immediately stunned. Caspian sounded sincere. It didnât seem like he was boasting.
Willow could feel his determination when she met his gaze. She chose to believe everything he said.
âOkay. I believe you.â She didnât even know why.
Maybe it was because of his firm gaze. Or it could also be because of his heartfelt confession.
âAlright then. Letâs do it this way. Letâs have our wedding at the same time that day. Then weâll know
whose marriage is more glamorous,â Alicia suggested.
âAlright. Willow will surely have a memorable wedding on the 30th,â said Caspian.
âDeal. Youâd better not bail on Willow at the last minute!â Alicia imagined them feeling embarrassed on
her wedding day. She couldnât help but scoff.
âCas⦠Caspian Lynch, right? What if you fail to keep your promise?â Marilyn abruptly asked.
+15 BONDâ
âWerenât you guys egging us on to divorce? If I fail to keep my promise, Iâll break up with Willow and leave Southlake City altogether,â he said.
âSure. Everyone here is a witness. No one forced you to say that. When the time comes, I hope youâll keep
your promise.â
Marilyn had always considered the daughters of the Stewart family as alliance tools. They were born to help the Stewart family ally with other elite families through marriage.
After Willow and Caspian divorced, she would take Willowâs marriage into her own hands. She would then let her marry a young man from a reputable elite family in Southlake City.
âDonât worry. I will,â Caspian promised.
âYou heard him, Willow. Are you sure youâre leaving the Stewart Residence with such a boastful loser?â Marilyn asked.
âYes, I am!â Willow was enraged, too. She didnât even hesitate.
âAlright. Thatâs your choice. As the head of the Stewart family, Iâll retract all of Willowâs shares in Stewart Group. Iâll consider returning them to you after youâve cleared your mind and divorced this loser,â Marilyn
said coldly.
Silence followed. Who couldâve expected Marilyn to banish Willow from Stewart Group?
Willow had her own company, but without Stewart Groupâs support, her company would probably fail to
attract any business.
She was stunned. She started her own company, but she had also been helping out at Stewart Group all
these years.
But now, Marilyn decided to cast her out just because she wasnât pleased with her husband.
âI hope you wonât regret it. After this, youâd better not beg Willow and me for help,â said Caspian calmly.
âThe Stewart family, begging you for help! Youâre delusional!â Marilyn scoffed.
Marilyn was worried. Willow could always use her identity to withdraw money from Stewart Group. Thus, Willow might use that money for the wedding. That was why she froze Willowâs shares.
That was also why she chose to drive Willow out of Stewart Group. Firstly, it was to protect Stewart Groupâs property. Secondly, it could also cut off a great amount of Willowâs income.
âYouâre kidding us, Caspian. You havenât taken your pills today, I assume. Why would we beg a loser like you for help?â retorted Henry.
âNonsense. Youâre just a loser. Thereâs no way weâd beg you. Youâre worth nothing to us! Now, get lost!â
Alicia mocked him.
They were delighted to see Willow being driven out of Stewart Group.
Thus, Stewart Group would be theirs in the future.
They had been conspiring about how to drive her out of the company and the family. But now, they didnât have to do anything. Willow was already eliminated.
âWillow, letâs go.â Caspian didnât want to waste his time on them. He tugged Willow, who was gaping, and
left.
âScram! I hate people who keep showing off but are really incapable!â Marilynâs harsh words came from
behind.
They had already stepped out of the gates when Willow came back to her senses.
âCaspian, you can always tell me if you want to break up. Why must you stir up trouble during the banquet and humiliate me?â Willow asked furiously.
Caspian was stunned. âI donât intend to break up.â
âWell, why did you make that bet with my grandmother then? And before my family, too,â she asked.
âBecause Iâm sure Iâll win.â
âNow thereâs only the two of us. Stop pretending. Iâm now your wife since weâve already gotten our marriage certificates. I have some savings left for you to organize the wedding. I donât want you to feel
embarrassed!â
âDonât worry, honey. Iâll keep my word!â Caspianâs eyes were again full of determination.
Willow remembered the 12 million dollars he invested in her company. Could he really be the lucky winner
of the 15 million dollars?
If he was, he should still have three million dollars. (1)
That should be enough for a wedding.
At that thought, she asked, âLetâs go home⦠Where do you live?â
âLetâs go to your house, honey. Iâm renting, and the house is too small.â Caspian scratched his head and
âYouâ¦â She shook her head resignedly. Then, she sighed. âHop on.â
He got into the car with a smile. Then, he texted Sylvia.
âThere are two things to be done. Firstly, Willow and I will have a wedding on the 30th of this month. It must leave the entire Southlake City in awe.
âSecondly, buy over Southlake Corporation on my behalf by tonight. Iâll take over the duties as the CEO
tomorrow.â
