Fix You

William

My nail digs into my palms as the fresh smell of my grandma's homemade speghetti sauce wafted through the air. Whenever my grand parents visit, it was always hard trying to resist food.

My grandma was one of the best cooks ever, so it was difficult to deny the yummy food she serves. Also, she always demanded that I eat or she'd raise hell.

"Dinner is ready, darling." My grandma softly tells me, holding up a plate of noodles with a generous amount of red sauce on it. I unclenched my fist, upsetting that I am having to eat. "There's more where that came from."

I just send my grandma a smile before I grab the plate from her, going into the living room with the rest of my family. It was a bit crowded in there, considering that everyone, including my grandpa, were in there. But there is more than enough seats.

I plopped down onto the recliner, pushing the noodles around on my plate.

"Will, eat up before your food gets cold." My mom spoke as she shoved a forkful of the pasta and sauce into her mouth. I continued to push around the noodles, the thought of food in my stomach making me already queasy. "William, eat!"

I swirl the noodles on the fork, taking a bite of the warm, flavorful sauce with pasta. My mom nodded in approval before she looked back at Grandpa, who was telling the twins stories about my mom when she was a kid.

I sipped on some water as I ate, quickly getting filled up by the carbs and liquid.

I set my half eaten food aside, shifting my eyes to my sisters, who were already on their second plates of pasta.

"Is that all you're going to eat, sweety?" My grandma asked, looking at my plate in disappointment. I weakly smile and nodded. "Are you feeling okay?"

,

She pressed the back of her hand lightly against my forehead and neck, furrowing her brows.

"I'm just not that hungry." I reply with a shrug, looking down at the delicious speghetti that I would love to just gobble up. "I'll eat the rest later, Grandma."

I shoved my fingers down my throat hurriedly, my dinner slithering up my throat, into the toilet bowl. My throat began to throb at the watered down stomach acid that gushed through my throat.

After I made sure every bit of food was out of my system, I just sat their on my knees for a moment, studying the redish water and chunks of chewed noodles.

I cringed at the sour smell, quickly flushing it.

"William, do you want dessert? I made apple pie."

My eyes widen at the offer my grandma made. I absolutely love her apple pie. It was better than any other pie in the world, and I can promise that.

Just a little slice won't hurt right? Just a few bites?

I accept the offer, including that I only wanted a small piece. Lucille looked at me weirdly when she heard my request, but shrugged it off moments later.

I kept down the small slice of apple pie for the rest of the evening, the feeling of it in my stomach making me feel uneasy.

I wasn't really used to having a lot in my stomach, that's why it's easier to throw up bigger meals.

Soon, everyone began to settle down and slowly go to bed. I took that as a chance to escape to my room for some time to myself.

Don't get me wrong, I love my family. They are the best. But sometimes, they become so overwhelming and a handful.

Once I got into my room, my friend Amber called me, instantly informing me about how her 7 month long boyfriend cheated on her with her step sister.

It found the scenario amusing, but it was awful that the guy did such a thing. I didn't know the guy well, but I thought he was genuinely a good person for Amber.

"Maybe I should just date girls."

I let out a small laugh, "maybe you should." Amber giggles at my agreement, the first happy sound I heard from her in the call. "I can beat him up."

Amber pauses for a moment before she let out a loud laugh, snorting at my offer. I felt a little hurt that she was laughing at my threat, but even I would.

A little 5'8 boy trying to beat up an over 6 foot tall football player... I would pay to see that.

"Awe, thanks Will. But I think I have a better chance beating him up then you do."

It sucked that all my female friends were taller or the same height as me. 5'8 really isn't that short... Everyone around me are just giants.

"Well yeah, he can't hit a girl... All you have to do is put some high heels on and step on his toe."

Amber snickers, "mhm, sure Will. Little shorty." At least my boyfriend didn't just cheat on me... I rather be short than heart broken. I kept my thoughts to myself, just humming a response.

Amber and I only talked for another 15 minutes before she hung up because she had to finish up some homework.

I got ready for bed, showering, brushing my teeth and hair, all of that. I glanced at my wardrobe for a minute, mentally choosing a few outfit options I could wear tomorrow.

I laid in bed, letting out a much needed breath.

"It was awesome, Will, you need to see it!"

I shrug at Macy's movie suggestion, "Chick flicks aren't my thing."

Macy looked bewildered at my reply, "but it's such a good movie!" She grabs onto Scott's arm, tugging it, "you should watch it!"

Scott glanced at her with a raise eyebrow as he ate a potato chip. "Uh, no, I'm good." Macy let out a  groan, biting into her sandwich. "Not eating today, Will?"

I look at my tray of food that was barely touched. I ate a carrot stick or two, but I mainly just drank water. "I've had a stomach ache all day."

He nods, "oh ok. Hey, do you know where Amber is? She told me about what happened."

I think for a moment, trying to remember if I saw the tall girl at all today. "I think she just stayed home today."

"I wouldn't blame her. If I got cheated on with my sibling, I wouldn't want to ever talk to anyone." Macy spoke, sipping on a can of coke. "Give it a few days, she'll be back to normal."

Nodding in agreement, I take another swig of water. The cold liquid filled my empty stomach, but there was still an ache in it. The smell of food floating around the room made my stomach clench. It didn't matter what food it was, good or bad, it still made me hungrier.

I should just got to the library or go to my car during lunch... The lunch room was too loud for my liking anyways.

A tray was set down in the seat in front of me before Macy let out a giggle. I look up, seeing Shane, Macy's boyfriend, peppering kisses on her face.

I've always been jealous of their relationship. It was one of those relationships that everyone wanted. Cute dates, dinners with parents, romantic walks by the beach, sex every weekend, it was just a lovely relationship.

Shane wasn't that bad of a guy either. He was nice, never got upset that Macy had guy friends. I think Macy told him Scott and I were gay, so that's probably why he doesn't care.

Scott's anything but gay and I don't even know about myself anymore.

Anyways, Shane was cool. He made Macy happy so that's really at that matters to me. As long as he doesn't do what Amber's ex did, I don't have a problem with him.

"You have to watch it with me, l!" Macy beams to her boyfriend, eating one of his fries. "It was the best movie ever!'

"Sure, we can watch Netflix and chill." Shane spoke, winking at her. Macy's cheek reddened as she smack Shane's arm. "What?"

She giggles, shaking her head, "you can't talk about that in front of my friends. They don't need to know how we spend our time."

"I think it's obvious." Scott comments with a mouthful of cheese burger, ketchup smearing on the corners of his mouth.  "Macy can't stop talking about it."

Macy opened her mouth to say something, but quickly pursed her lips, her cheeks heating up even more. Scott and I snicker at her embarrassment. "Ya know, fuck you, Scott."

Scott just gives out his signature smile before  he resumes eating his lunch.

The coffee shop was very quiet today, only a few people here to read or sip on later afternoon coffee. Lucille was 'sick', so I am with that Anthony guy that applied.

I guess he got the job.

He was cool though, had a sailor mouth for sure. I swear, every other word was a swear word.

I don't really mind cussing. I cuss a bit, but I try and limit myself so it doesn't become a habit and my parents get mad. But it's annoying when people cuss all the time just to sound cooler or something. It's different if you're joking around or something.

He was nice company though, so I didn't really mind.

He told me about how he's been adjusting well to the new school and how he hopes his parents settle down. Apparently his dad is in the military so he's used to always moving around.

We spent the rest of the evening just talking, getting to know each other. I talked about my siblings and horrible teachers while he talked about the stories of moving around and going to tons of different schools.

At the end of the night, I had gotten his number. I felt a little happier talking to someone else and gaining another potential good friend.

I hope we become good friends since we'll be working together and seeing each other more. I just smile at the idea as I closed the cafe door, locking it.

Sorry that the first handful of chapters haven't been interesting, I'm just trying to introduce him a bit more and his friends and family and all that.

Also, my chapters are kinda weirdly length. Some are long, some are short, some are in between... But uh yeah..

I hope you're enjoying<3
