Chapter 627: A Prelude To Revealing Her Medical Skills

Lin Shuwen was caught by surprise. He quickly picked up his briefcase and followed behind her. “Where would you like to go? Let me send you there.”

Mrs. Fang halted. She mulled briefly and felt that Lin Shuwen probably knew her son’s condition best since he had been taking care of Fang Chen all along. Hence, she did not turn down his offer and walked out as she said, “My friend’s son just came back from abroad. He is a highly revered doctor, so I wanted to show him Chen’s medical records.”

The moment Lin Shuwen heard this, he was stunned. He wanted to tell Mrs. Fang not to bother. However, he could understand why she needed to hear it from a doctor herself no matter how good Huo Yao’s treatment was.

Hence, he did not try to talk her out of it.

Lin Shuwen took Mrs. Fang to her friend’s place and arrived 30 minutes later.

Lin Shuwen felt puzzled when they ended up in front of the Huo residence. He asked her. “Are you sure this is the place?”

Mrs. Fang failed to notice anything amiss with his expression. She undid her seat belt as she replied. “Uh huh.”

Lin Shuwen pressed his forehead as Mrs. Fang opened the door and got out of the car. He parked the car by the roadside, turned off the engine, and got off as well.

Just as Mrs. Fang was about to press the doorbell, she noticed that Lin Shuwen was still around and had even walked over towards her. She could not help looking at him perplexedly.

Lin Shuwen explained to Fang Chen. “… It’s such a coincidence. The doctor who treated Fang Chen happens to live here too.”

Mrs. Fang went quiet.

Before long, Song Ning walked out to get the door for Mrs. Fang since she was already expecting her.

The moment Song Ning caught sight of Lin Shuwen, she was stunned. “Didn’t you swing by to see my daughter previously… Mr. Lin, right?”

Since she was Huo Yao’s mother, Lin Shuwen treated her courteously. “Mrs. Huo, nice to see you again. I am surprised you remember me.”

Mrs. Fang was still wrapped in thought about Lin Shuwen saying Fang Chen’s doctor resided here as well. Judging from the way Song Ning and Lin Shuwen interacted, they were clearly acquainted.

She entered the living room in a daze.

Huo Yulin was sitting on the couch. His spectacles helped to cover up his pale complexion. He stood up and greeted Mrs. Fang when she entered.

Mrs. Fang kept thinking about what Lin Shuwen had just said outside, so she could not help turning to look at Lin Shuwen. “Is he my son’s doctor?”

Huo Yulin was the only renowned doctor Mrs. Fang knew of in the Huo family. She even pointed at Huo Yulin as she spoke.

Lin Shuwen said nothing. Song Ning asked quizzically. “Treat your son? My boy just came back from abroad two days ago.”

Lin Shuwen made no mention of Huo Yao treating Fang Chen when he came bearing gifts previously, so Song Ning did not put too much thought into it.

Mrs. Fang finally recalled that Huo Yulin had just come home. “Sorry. I simply forgot.”

Mrs. Fang looked at Lin Shuwen and waited for him to clarify the situation.

Lin Shuwen cleared his throat and shook his head. “No, he isn’t.”

“Huh? Then who was it?” Mrs. Fang was taken aback.

Song Ning did not understand what they were saying, so she said, “Why don’t you let my boy see your son’s medical records first?”

Mrs. Fang stopped looking at Lin Shuwen. Instead, she retrieved the medical records from her purse and carefully handed them to Huo Yulin.

“Give me one moment,” said Huo Yulin after taking the medical records. He lowered his head and started to go through them.

Lin Shuwen wanted to speak up.

Since Mrs. Fang was looking at Huo Yulin intently, he held his tongue.
