Chapter 12: Sleep Is Overrated

Ash looked kind of sad I mean I've been through a lot today should I go? I know when I get there I'm just going to want to sleep. I hate canceling on people! I texted Abigail and let her know that I wasn't feeling good which is true. She was very understanding and didn't ask any questions which I was thankful for. I'm not sure if I can trust her yet.

"Actually I'm gunna stay here." Ash gave me a smile.

"I'm going to the store really fast to get some grocery's for my mom wanna come?" I didn't want to stay here by myself so I agreed.

When we got into the truck it was freezing. I looked at the floor to see my sweater I wore before the party so I quickly put it on. Ash chuckled and put the heater on. It was to quiet in the truck so I turned on the radio. One of my old time favorite songs were on 'Crush Crush Crush ' by Paramore came on so I turned it up.

"This song is so ..." Ash began but I cut him off.

"Shhh I love this song!" He shut up right away and I was glad he did. I began going crazy and pretended I was in a music video. I was surprisingly comfortable acting weird in front of Ash. I could see Ash staring at me from the corner of my eye.

"Look at the rode."

"Sorry can't help it when I have a gorgeous girl serenading me." He winked and I gently slapped him on the shoulder.

"I'm not serenading you, I'm just singing along."

"You and I both know that's not true."

"In your dreams Ash."

We finally got to the store, Ash told me that I was able to get what I wanted but and usually that would be dunk food but I didn't want to look like a pig so I just grabbed some strawberries and some other healthy foods and placed them into the cart while Ash was placing almost every unhealthy food he could find. I couldn't help but laugh.

We continued going through the food aisles and was shocked when Ash bumped into a familiar looking face.

"Ash?" A girl said walking towards us.

"Oh hey Danielle." He said giving her a hug which kind of made me jealous.

"Wow who are you feeding, a zoo?" She said looking towards the cart.

"Anyway Ash, I was wondering since tomorrows my first day at school would you mind showing me around?" She said touching his shoulder obviously ignoring the fact that I was there. Great please don't be another Erica!

"Not at all." He said smiling, how come I get the feeling I'm third wheeling here?

"Oh, Adrianna meet Danielle, Danielle meet Adrianna." Ash said smiling.

"Hi." I said giving her a fake smile and she seemed to do the same thing back. She had light brown thick curly hair it was obviously natural and brown eyes.

"Well we got to go, see you at school tomorrow?" Ash said finally, I already didn't like this girl and its not because of her relations with Ash there's just something about her I don't like. Geese why am I getting so jealous? I hate it!

"Yup see you then." She said giving Ash another hug. She had to at least be a junior.

Ash paid for all the food and we placed it all into the back of his truck. When we got to the house Ash's step dad was nice enough to help get the food in the house.

"So Adrianna, how long are you planning on staying?" Ash's step dad said. I swallowed hard. I wasn't really sure. Talia slapped her husband on the arm.

"You don't have to answer that sweetie, take all the time you need." I smiled at her mouthed the words thank you. We all sat down at the dinner table and Talia served us food she made while we where at the store. Everyone was very talkative and it was a nice dinner unlike the ones I have at my house or did have at my house.

Ash and I went upstairs and deciding to look through some of the boxes for pillows blankets and stuff like that.

I sat on the floor opening trying to open one of the boxes that had my pillow in it but it was duct taped shut.

"Do you have scissors?"

"Yeah. I'll go get them." Once he left I looked around his room I could see my bedroom window so I walked over a closed the curtains I wasn't sure if I was ever going to have the same relationship with my mom again. If I refused to leave the house she would've sent me to New York. I haven't even talked to my dad since he left and I'm not sure if I want to.

"What are you doing?" I turned around hearing Ash's voice.

"Nothing." I said grabbing the scissors from his hand and getting back on the ground to open the box. Thankfully their was labels on the boxes so I knew what was in what box. I finally got the box open and pulled out my pillow and threw it on Ash's bed.

"Thanks."

Ash's P.O.V

Adri's life is so fucked up right now its hard to believe that all that shit has happened to her and she's still sweet. It's my fault that she got kicked out! I shouldn't have let her drink or made her get to the point were she felt like she had to just to prove a point.

My feelings for her are so mixed up and I don't know how to explain them. I just don't want to hurt her, she's going through so much. I wonder what she was like before I met her. She went to the restroom to change into something more comfortable and that meant I had to go downstairs soon or I would get shit from my mom in the morning.

I went downstairs to the kitchen and decided to make some popcorn.

"Dude Adrianna is so hot! Did you see what she was wearing this morning!" I heard Jared say from down the hall.

"Yeah! Totally bangable." I heard Chad agree.

I walked down the hall has fast as I could super angry!

"What the fuck!? Don't talk about her that way!"

"Calm down! You know its true." Jared said fist pumping Chad.

"Stay away from her!" I said walking away, I didn't want to start a fight cause I might break a bine in his body if I did.

I heard footsteps coming downstairs. I turned around and was shocked at the sight of Adri. She was wearing black cotton shorts with a grey sweatshirt. I couldn't help but look at her from head to toe. She probably figured out I was checking her out when I heard her giggle.

"It smells like popcorn." She said coming closer to me.

"O-Oh I'm making some." Did I just fucking stutter? I never stutter!

We walked in the kitchen and Adri sat on a barstool.

"This means a lot to me Ash." I looked at her and smiled. She gave me a weak smile so I knew she was just pretending to be somewhat happy. But who would be after they just got kicked out of there house with a letter?!

I put the popcorn in a bowl and grabbed two soda cans. When we were about to go upstairs all five of my brothers decided to come in the kitchen. They each took big hand fools of the popcorn.

"What the fuck?"

"What?" Brock said obviously being sarcastic.

"Did I say you guys can have some? This is my popcorn!"

"I don't see your name on it." I could hear Adri giggle a little bit and it was really obvious she was trying not to.

I pushed him back and grabbed the popcorn and started to walk up stairs, I could here little feet following me and I'm pretty positive all my brothers were check Adri out.

We finally got back into my bedroom and Adri sat on the bed, I went to go put the popcorn down and laid down on the bed with my feet towards my pillows. Adri took out a book and began to read, I didn't want to bother so I took out a book too trying to mock her.

"You don't read why do you have a book in your hand?"

"Because my name is Adrianna, duh." I said in a girly voice.

"Oh my god! Never do that again!." She put the book down and grabbed her laptop.

"What are you doing?" I asked out curiosity.

"Just going on Netflix's, wanna watch a movie with me?" She said turning off the bedside lamp.

I didn't answer her, I just sat up and got closer to her. I pushed the computer off her lap a little bit so it wouldn't fall off the bed. I grabbed her face and placed my lips on hers.

She bit down on my lip a little and she started running her hands through my hair. I guess good girls can be bad when you want them to be. We broke away from the kiss and she fell back on bed smiling. I laid down with her this time and wrapped my arms around her.

She pulled the blankets up and we just cuddled.

"I'm not even tired." I said.

"So, its nice just laying in the dark sometimes, its relaxing."

"I guess you're right."

"I'm always right."

"ha-ha okay, whatever you say." I can imagine her rolling her eyes at this point.

"So you never answered me when I told you to say you like me."

"That's because you already know the answer."

"So. I want to hear you say it."

"Ahhh, I'm so tired." She said pretending to fall asleep.

"Okay sureee."

I pulled her closer to me. I'm pretty sure she could feel my heart beat racing. She's the first girl that makes me feel nervous or get 'butterfly's' as the girls say.

I wasn't sure what was going to happen with us but I need her in my life. What would happen if I never commented on her singing or gave her a ride from the party. It scares me to think we wouldn't be in the same bed right now if I didn't give her a ride home.

Adrianna's P.O.V

Ash has turned the worst night of my life into a really amazing night. I can't believe I had the guts to say I like him sober but I'm glad I did. I think he likes me back, I mean he acts like it right?

"Things happen for a reason, life will get better trust me." Ash said.

"I hope so, shouldn't you go downstairs now so your mom doesn't yell at you or anything,"

"Nah, we're not sleeping so we're fine." I giggle at his reply.

"Sleep is overrated."
