Bonus Chapter..

Author's POV.

Evelyn woke up as her alarm went off. Turning to her side the bed was empty. She let out a sigh and tried to ease the ache that caused her. She sat up and rested her head on her hands. Heavy with thoughts for not receiving any news from her wife. Work hasn't been easy and managing their little daughter was not easy at all. She wanted a shoulder, she wanted Kai to tell her it'll be alright.

Lost in her thoughts she sat there for what felt like eternity till a soft knock was heard on the room door.

" mommy " the little girl called out.

" come here baby, mommy's up." Evelyn brushed her eyes and spoke in the sweetest tone she could muster right now.

the door opened and their little girl ran straight to her.

" good morning Laira. " Evelyn said taking the girl to her lap.

" Good morning mommy! " Laira squeked hugging her mommy tight.

At that moment Evelyn felt alive. The little anger she had for Kai for not being there faded away. Kai gave Evelyn the best gift she could ask for. In fact Laira was just like Kai. With black thick hair and dark eyes. She was a little piece of Kai.

Kai named their girl 'Laira' saying that in that way she could think of her every night when she's away.

' Laira means stars' as a matter of fact the girl's eyes looked like a night sky full of stars.

Laira was three years old now and she would often ask her mommy to tell stories about mom( Kai) and how mom named her.

" Are you hungry? " Evelyn asked upon hearing her little girls stomach rumble.

" starving! " Laira said pushing her head back with a pout. She was a dramatic little thing just like Kai.

Evelyn let out a laugh and carried her daughter.

" come on mommy will make you something. "

" Yay! And I want chocolate milk today! " the girl cheered in her Mommy's hands.

" Uh - huh, what else do you want? " Evelyn spoke holding her daughter tight as they went downstairs.

After breakfast Evelyn dropped Laira at hinari's place with all her books and toys. Hinari was more than happy to take care of her granddaughter when both the mothers were away.

It was a busy day at work for eve.

At lunch time her phone buzzed with a incoming call. Seeing it's her friends she answered it with no hesitation.

" ey! Good afternoon" jacky spoke he's voice filled with energy.

" good afternoon! It's so nice to hear from you'll" eve said.

" eve, let's cut to the case. We're going out for a drink tonight and you're coming with us." shahira spoke in a serious voice and eve could almost picture her face.

" what tonight? Guys, Laira? She's at mama's place now. I have to pick her up in the evening. " Eve spoke.

" Girl- you can ask hinari to take care of her for another couple of hours. You haven't gone out with us since when? You must come." jacky snapped.

" I know. I'll try my best if not I'm sorry. " eve said.

" let us know alright? The 13th floor okay? We'll see you there. " shahira said before cutting the line.

God that was sudden. Eve thought to herself. A part of her wanted to go out with her friends when a part of her wanted to go home with her little girl and have dinner and read stories till both of them eventually fell asleep. Taking the chance she called hinari almost immediately.

" mama, " eve said as hinari answered the phone.

" yes dear what is it." hinari spoke genuinely concerned.

" Can you see for laira for a little longer today? My friends asked me out now. If it's hard I understand I'll come take her. " eve blurted out in one breath.

Hinari laughed at the other end of the line.

" Eve! That's no problem. You go out have some fun tonight okay. Laira will be with me you don't need to worry. In fact take the whole night. I'll keep the girl with me. " hinari said calming eve down.

" You can do that for me? " Eve asked.

" of course hunny. Go have fun but send me the location you're going to just in case alright? " hinari asked.

" okay mama! Thank you so much. " eve spoke excited at the thought of going out.

With that they cut the line and eve sent the location to hinari. She knows for a fact that hinari would always have her back no matter what and that made her feel safe.

She drove home in the evening as quickly as she could. Once at home she took a shower and threw on one of Kai's shirts and mom jeans considering she is now a mom going to grab a drink. She pulled her blonde hair back in a messy ponytail and put on her pair of boots and went off.

When she arrived at the bar her friends were at the car park waiting for her.

" Look at her! " shahira exclaimed as eve walked upto them.

Shahira was a friend of eve's back from university.

She wore a black hijab with a pair of trousers and a long shirt layered with a Trench coat on top. She must admit that Shahira was always the classy one of them all.

" It's so nice to see you'll! " eve squeaked hugging shahira tight.

Jacky and Nicole stood watching they're interaction with a smile.

" Let's go in before it gets too late. " Nicole finally said and they all went in.

Jacky got the ladies their drinks while the others waited in the lounge area.

" how's Kai doing? " Shahira asked eve. Not hearing from her wife for awhile was a pain in the ass. Kai knew it drove Evelyn crazy too. No matter how it made her crazy Evelyn had a smile on her face.

" She's doing fine I suppose." she replied.

Just then Jacky got back with the drinks driving all the attention to him.

" Thank you love." Nicole said taking the drinks from his hands.

The lounge overlooked the view of the night city Where skyscrapers were lit up. They spent the evening catching up with each other. Later Nicole and Jacky dragged themselves to the dance floor while Eve tried her best to stay away from it.

Seeing Jacky and Nicole dance with each other so closely made Eve feel some way. It was mixed with frustration, sadness and almost jealousy. She could not remember a time Kai and her have spent such a time together. Even when Kai was home they both rested with nothing much to do. Now seeing all the young people so close to each other made her feel lonely. She had a few extra rounds of drinks while the others were dancing.

It took sometime for the others to pull themselves out of the dance floor. When they came back Eve has gone over 5 rounds of drinks. Nicole decided it was the best for the ladies to freshen up while Jacky waited at the entrance for them.

Outside of the bar she stood leaning against the wall in her uniform she adored so much. Young ladies threw glances and whispered as they walked past her. Yet she could not care less. She had her eyes and mind fixed on her lady. She checked the time and waited till her wife came out.

She straightened herself and took a few steps towards the entrance to check as it was getting colder outside.

Just then in a rush a young girl came running out bumping straight on to her. The girl almost fell on the ground upon the impact when Kai held her up.

" Are you alright young lady? " she asked concerned. Seeing few tears rolling down from the girl's eyes. The girl scanned kai up and down still in her embrace.

" Uh- yes officer. Thank you. " she said and pulled away.

" are you certain? Do you need any help? " Kai asked lowering her voice and gaze.

" I'm fine officer. I must go." the girl spoke in one breath and ran off. Kai couldn't do anything to hold her back. She watched the girl run off without turning back.

Knowing something is off inside she stepped in. Upon seeing Kai in the uniform the security immediately stepped aside and let her in.

Kai walked through the crowds. Where few heads turned to her.

She walked over to the lounge area and looked around hoping to see who she was finding.

Just then she heard a man shout. It came from the direction where the restrooms was. She hurried there. A few people stopped to see what was going to happen and Kai walked through them to the front. Just what she saw sent chills down her spin. She clencthed her teeth.

Eve.. Evelyn stood there along with shahira and Nicole apologizing to a young man. She did not wait a second and stomped towards them pulling the man back.

It took a moment for eve to realize who has come to save her. Her eyes widened and tears started rolling uncontrollably. Kai took a moment to look at her wife who Nicole and shahira was holding on to.

" You bastard. You made my lady cry. " Kai said in a low threatening voice and pulled the boy up by his shirt. The boy looked young and for a moment Kai thought he might have something to do with the girl earlier. She pulled him closer while he struggled to get out of her grip.

" let go of me! I swear I didn't do anything. " the boy whined.

" then why was my wife crying and apologizing? " she spoke throwing the boy far on the ground. He hit the ground with a thud before standing up and running away.

Kai turned to her wife who looked back at her with glassy tears filled eyes. Taking a few steps toward her Kai pulled Eve in for a embrace.

" hey, don't cry. I got you." she spoke in a soft voice.

When they were out of the bar Kai lead Eve into the car and the others went off after having a moment with Kai. In the car Kai slid into the driver seat as Eve sat on the passenger seat lost and shaken.

" Love, are you alright. " Kai spoke gently holding Eve by her chin.

" How did you even come?" she asked her voice low as a whisper.

" I didn't talk to you the past few days since I was planning to come home. I knew it'll drive you crazy. When I got home mom said you came here so I did too." she said followed by chuckle seeing her wife turn red.

" It did drive me crazy." Eve said her cheeks flushed.

A smirk appeared in Kai's face and she took her wife's hand and kissed the top of it.

For the rest of the car ride Kai slid her hand up and down on her wife's thigh. It made Eve's breath hitch every time Kai's hand reached the top.

When Kai pulled upto the driveway Evelyn's heart was pounding. She was sweating with the alcohol kicking in she was a simple mess trying to keep her cool. Kai got off first and came the other way and opened the door for Evelyn. When eve was about to get off Kai sweeped her out of the car into her hands. She turned her around and slid her hands under and held her from the bottom making eve wrap her legs around Kai's waist. Evelyn Wrapped her arms around her neck and rested her head on her wife's shoulder letting Kai incharge. A smug grin crept onto Kai's face knowing her wife was now in her hands.

" you look nice." Kai whispered to her wife's ear as she carried her in. It made Evelyn's heart pound even faster. she buried her face into Kai's shoulder and muttered, " don't lie. I look like a mess and I smell like alcohol and sweat I know that."

A chuckle left Kai's chest as she closed the door behind them.

" You'll be all better after a shower. " she said carrying eve upstairs.

Once in the bathroom she put her down. Eve did not dare to look up to her. She knew how ridiculous she might be looking now.

" get in the shower. " Kai said before going out closing the door behind her.

What the hell! Kai! Evelyn screamed internally. It was killing her. Anger and frustration took over her and she quickly took off her clothes and got in the shower. Cold water hit her body but she was burning. " what the fuck Kai." she hissed under her breath while pulling her hair back frustrated.

Just then she heard the door open and footsteps grew closer. She froze and put her hand over her mouth not making any noice. The shower curtain opened and Kai stood there with her boxers and sports bra on.

She stepped in and eve turned her back to kai. A part of eve wanted to run. While the other wanted to give in to Kai.

Kai wrapped her arms around eve's waist from behind as cold water hit the both of them.

" I love you." she whispered to eve's ear making her burn even more.

" I love you too." eve said in a whisper her voice

quavered.

" look at me when you say that." Kai demanded turning her around.

" I love you too." eve spoke her head low this time.

Kai laughed softly at her wife's reaction.

" I said look at me in the eye. " she said grabbing her chin and turning her head up finally looking into her wife's eyes.

" I love you." eve repeated each time her voice sounding more weak and low. Kai smirked making eve blush.

Both fell silent and the sound of water echoed the room. Kai slowly leaned forward looking into eve's eyes. They were glossy and it was Kai's favorite shade of blue since the day they met. She sank deep into her wife's eyes while leaning forward and stopped. Now inches away from her lips. Eve's lips trembled knowing what is to come. She slowly closed her eyes. Kai smiled and was about to gently take her wife's lips by hers when suddenly eve pulled away.

" Acho-" she sneezed and sniffed as Kai couldn't help but laugh.

Eve looked down wiping her nose and sniffing.

" alright it's time I get you out of here." Kai said and grabbed a towel from outside.

She wrapped it around eve and carried in her arms.

" Kai you don't have to carry me everywhere. I can walk." eve whined in her wife's arms.

" why would you walk when I can carry you. " Kai said looking down at her wife. Eve grinned and buried her face in Kai's chest and muttered, " okay."

Kai put eve down on the bed and got a her night dress and helped her get dressed.

" would you like something warm? " Kai asked once they were dressed.

" warm?" eve repeated tilting her head.

" hm. Like hot chocolate." Kai said.

" yes. " eve said with a smile.

They went downstairs and Kai started making hot chocolate. Eve stood beside her leaning on the counter.

Once it was done she poured it into two mugs and handed eve hers. Eve took a sip of the warm chocolate and it immediately made her insides melt. She was about to take another sip when she caught her wife staring at her.

" what is it? " eve asked brushing her lips with her hand.

Kai did not say a word instead put her drink down and raised her wife and placed her on the counter. Making her sit.

" holy shit." eve cursed and put her drink on the counter. Then covered her mouth realizing she cursed.

" laira is not home remember? It's just us for the night." Kai spoke leaning closer to her wife. Eve shut her eyes slowly as Kai placed her lips on Evelyn's gently.

Eve gave Kai full control and slid her arms around her neck. Kai pulled her closer to her body and kissed her hungrily. A low whimper escaped Eve and Kai smiled into the kiss while continuing to take her lips on hers. Her hands explored eve's every curve making circles with her fingers.

" Kai." Eve whimpered letting her know it was her limit and so Kai pulled away gently.

Both took a moment to catch their breaths.

" what do you say we take the hot chocolate to the bedroom?" Kai asked with a grin.

" I would love that." Eve said mirroring the same grin and took the mugs in her hand while her wife carried her upstairs.
