Chapter 01.

Kai's Pov.

Myself , Mama and Steve sat ourselves at the table for dinner.

Steve is my older brother. Mama is Japanese while our so called father is American. We have no father in this family since the day he left us for another woman. I'm not complaining, none of us are. we like it better that he's not here. Time's are hard and all three of us do jobs and try to earn even a small amount of money for us. Mama works at a restaurant. Steve works in a shipping company while I work part-time at a cafe. I'm stil in high school and it's my last year then I'll be out for good.

The three of us are close as friends, we share anything with each other and there's no language rules either we can speak how ever we want yet Steve and I never talk to Mama disrespectfully. We don't get into each other's life's much not even mama. She's cool as long as we're safe.

Today's dinner is pretty decent if you ask me. We got some cheesy chicken, rice and beans. Steve and Mama was talking about work while I on the other hand took a bite of the last piece of chicken on my plate.

*Chomp~*

I chewed on something rock hard. I stopped chewing anymore. There's a stone in my chicken?

" Mama! What did you put in the chicken? " I asked with a mouth full of food.

" What's wrong? " She asked calmly taking a bite of her own.

" There's something like a stone in my chicken! " I said.

" Must be a piece of chicken bone. " She said looking up to me.

" Or- maybe you broke a tooth. " Steve said while placing his fork down.

" What?!- " I looked to Steve who had a smirk plastered on his face.

" Granny! " He said leaning back on the chair.

" Ste- " I frowned at him and spoke but was immediately cut off by mama.

" Kai! Eat your damn food without talking. " She said then took a sip of her wine.

I returned my gaze back to Mama then slightly nodded and ignored the stone like God knows what and ate on.

After dinner the three of us went to our rooms. My mouth was slightly hurting from that Stone from earlier. I head to the bathroom and decided to rinse my mouth off to have a look. As the water touched the tooth in the bottom corner of my mouth, I felt a sting of pain go through my nerves system giving me a instant headache. What the fuck! I broke my fucking tooth!

Halt of the tooth is missing and I suspect it's in my stomach at the moment. No no no- the pain was unbearable making me want to bang my head against the wall. I clenched my teeth trying to make the pain go away.

I have school tomorrow. I Have to do something to make this pain go away before that. Painkillers! Yes that might work. I stormed out the bathroom into the kitchen and went through the drawer that had medicine hoping to find a painkiller. After a second of scrambling around the drawer I found a painkiller tablet card with only one tablet left. Only one! Damn it. I guess I'll just have to survive with this now and get more tomorrow.

I swallowed down the tablet with some water and went to bed.

Next morning~

I woke up to the sound of Mama yelling me to get up, from downstairs as usual. Oh~ I love her. I sat up and yelled back.

" I'm up! " And made my way to the bathroom.

My head was still hurting but not as much as yesterday, I could bare it... I hope... Probably... I will. I had a shower then slipped on to a pair of trousers with a shirt and went downstairs. Mama was already up making breakfast and Steve was polishing his shoes on the couch.

" Good morning Mama. " I greeted and placed a kiss on her cheek.

" Good morning baby. " She greeted back with a smile focusing on the pan in the stove.

" Breakfast will be ready in a minute. " She said, I nodded and made my way towards the couch and sat next to him.

" Good morning granny. " He said with a silly smile on his face.

" Good morning Steve. " I said and hit him in the shoulder.

" Yo! You were right! " I said after awhile.

" About what?! " He asked confused.

" I did break a fucking tooth yesterday. " I said not loud enough for Mom to hear.

" Man! Seriously, I was just joking. " He laughed,

" Dude stop! Don't let Mama know"  I hit him in the shoulder again making him stop.

" What- why?! " He asked trying to collect himself together.

" I can't afford to dude! " I said to which he nodded.

" I'll try to help as I can alright. " He said putting a hand around my shoulder.

I nodded in reply. We three had breakfast and went on our ways. Mama and Steve went to work. I went to school. I have my shift at  8 - 12  tonight.

I got to school and walked towards the lockers where my two best friends were waiting for me.

" Hey man! " James said leaning on the locker.

" Hey babe! " Anna waved as I got to the lockers.

" Morning both of you! " I said and opened my locker.

James and Anna is my best friends. More likely James was my friend from before, then when he started dating Anna she automatically became my friend and she is awesome. They both know I love woman so, Anna has no worry about James and Me hanging out.

We talked about absolute shit and walked to our first class which is luckily English.

We took our seats then Mrs. Smith started with the lesson. The day went smoothly with me having a slight headache from the toothache.

At the cafeteria.

" Aren't you eating? " Asked Anna as both of them sat with they're trays.

"Nope. " I said and sipped on my juice.

" Dude are you in a diet or some shit? No offense but that'll be hilarious af! " James said while laughing.

" I broke a fucking tooth dumbass! " I leaned back on the chair.

It only made him laugh even harder.

" Stop it! Or I swear to God I'll break your damn nose! " I threatened, making him stop.

" You should get it checked, does it hurt? " Anna asked concerned.

" Yeah, it makes me wish to be run over by a truck. " I said putting my head in my hands.

" Maybe.. you should try it.. you know you've never tried that before.. " James said which earned a death glare from Anna.

" James, Stop.It. " Anna said that made James smile disappear and nod.

" Anyways, she's right. You should get it checked. " He added after.

" I- can't afford to.. anyhow it's just a stupid toothache, it's not like it would kill me.. I'll survive with some painkillers. " I said as I finished the juice.

Jokes on my dumbass! I should've seen things coming.

They nodded and went on with they're food.

After school was over, I went over to the store and got enough painkillers. Once I got home I had enough time to get to work. Steve and Mama was not home so I prepared dinner for them and had shower. I took a painkiller and got ready for work. I put on a pair of boyfriend jeans with a beige hoodie. I got my stuff and left with a note on the table for Mama and steve.

' got work! I made dinner and already ate. will be late. '

I lied. I didn't eat. I'll just grab a coffee when I get to work.
