12. a good day

I woke up and it's Sunday. I have only this day until I will have to face the school. And about an hour until 31's chapel. They kill, beat up, and abuse people. But hey I guess they still wanna be holy.

Axel is still sleeping but we don't have much time before we're late and he's kinda gotta be there.

"Axel wake up", I said nudging him slightly.

"Hm", he groaned turning over to face me.

I put my hands on his eyes and forced them open.

He jumped up.

"Lani what the hell", he said. I jumped at his sudden movement.

"Sorry. We have to go to chapel", I said quietly.

"I'm sorry for yelling buttercup", he said rubbing my back. I don't know what all the niceness is for

"Alright", I said getting up. He followed me into the bathroom.

"Do you wanna skip chapel today and I take you wherever you wanna go. And buy you whatever you want. The whole damn mall if you want. I feel bad for what I did to you", he said.

Nothing could make up for it. But I'm surprisingly not that upset. I'm pretty and half the guys have a crush on me anyway.

In a weird way it probably made their little weenies go wild. Not that I wanted it to.

I also didn't cry. And I showed very little signs of weakness. If anything they're gonna show me respect.

No one is gonna dare to make fun of me on something like that or make fun of me period. They fear him. So they fear me.

But I actually like chapel. It gives me a different kind of hope and relief.

The pastor guy is really nice. He's got tattoos and looks no different than any other guy on 31. But he's peaceful, hopeful, and religious. He looks for every loop whole to abide by the Bibles laws and cares about everyone's well being. Even though it's nearly impossible to abide by the Bible's law here in 31.

"No I'm okay", I said spraying my hair with water and brushing the curls out softly.

"Are you sure, are you mad at me, look I understand I crossed a line I never should have. I let my anger get the best of me. And I'm never gonna do anything to you like that again, okay", he said taking no breaks to inhale.

"Okay Axel. I'm not thinking that deep into I just wanna go to chapel", I said finishing up with my hair putting it into a half up half down.

"Why", he said cleaning up the hair on his face with a razor.

"Because it's nice. I like it", I said walking into the closet. And he followed me AGAIN.

It was honestly getting annoying. But he was just getting ready at the same pace as me.

I looked through my closet for clothes to wear to chapel. I found this pretty crimson red flowy dress with tiny little white and yellow flowers.

"Well okay, whatever you want we will do", he said picking out a white shirt leave button up and dress pants.

He put on an expensive watch and sprayed on his cologne that smelled like heaven.

I couldn't help but size him up. He looked so good every fucking day.

"You look so beautiful", he said to me while I looked at myself in the full body mirror in our room.

"You're just saying that, because you feel bad for beating my ass in front of everyone..... LIKE YOU SHOULD", I emphasized.

"I am sorry and I do feel bad. But you were always beautiful to me. Even before that", he said putting on his shoes.

"Tan wedges or white sandals", I said ignoring his comment.

"Tan wedges, there's a dinner after, tonight, it's more dressy that way", he said.

"Then how would we have been able to skip anyway", I said furrowing my eyebrows.

"Uh because I'm Axel... duh", he said.

I rolled my eyes at him and carried my wedges in my hand as I went downstairs.

I fixed me and Axel quick bowls of cereal. Mine with no milk and his with chocolate milk. He's weird.

"Thank you buttercup", he said kissing my head as he started scrambling notes together.

"Shit", he said as he spilled some of the milk out the bowl from rushing.

Then a lightbulb dinged in my head.

"I want a puppy", I said.

"What", he said looking up at me while cleaning the floor.

"I want a puppy", I said crossing my arms with a fake attitude.

"You can't take care of a puppy Lani. I'm not having shit all over my house, do you know how much this cost", he said.

I rolled my eyes.

"Do you even know how much this costs", I said.

"Shut the fuck up", he said playfully throwing the milky rag at me.

"No seriously, you said anything I want and I want a puppy. The puppy coulda been cleaned that milk up ", I said.

"Um no. If the puppy cleaned this milk up they'd have several gas issues. Dogs don't eat chocolate", he said.

"Please", I said with my own puppy dog eyes.

"Lani no", he said grabbing the keys and walking to the door.

"Please please please please", I said following him out the door and into the car. He just ignored me.

*half way through the ride*

I took a very deep inhale.

"Please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please-"

"LANI", he yelled. I stopped with a smirk on my face but I didnt let him see.

"If you shut up. I will buy you a damn puppy", he said.

"Promise", I said holding out my pinky.

He aggress-fully wrapped my pinky with his and gave it a kiss.

"I AM SO EXCITED", I yelled.

"You know there will be puppy chores, puppy rules, puppy punishments if you don't do what you're supposed to", he said.

"Shhh don't suck up the fun", I said all excited in my seat.

"Mmmkk", he said turning up the radio.

Once we pulled up to chapel I wasn't even nervous about anything. I'm getting a fucking puppy. Fuck what ya heardddddddd.

"Lani", Genni whispered. I saw her Tati, and Hadley were all sitting together. I gave them the hold up finger.

"Axel", I pulled on his arm a little. He was talking to Mikey. The pastor.

He looked over at me trying not to interrupt. His eyebrows were furrowed because I was interrupting. I judged my head over to the girls and he nodded.

I sped walked my way over to them and had a seat right in the middle.

"Spill", Tati said.

"Axel beat the living crap out me in front of junior 31", I said nonchalantly.

"What the fu-", Hadley started. We instantly covered her mouth.

"Not in chapel", Genni said. Genni was the most holy of us all. I came second.

She giggled a little.

"Sorry", Hadley blushed.

"It's okay", Genni said fixing her dress. Sometimes she's so uptight all you can do is laugh at her.

"So how do you feel champ", I heard Isaiah say from behind me.

"Isaiah I'll beat your a-... I'll beat you up", I said looking at Genni with a smile.

"Lani I was just asking damn. Everyone on J3 feels bad for you", he said. J3 is short for junior 31.

"Well tell them don't", I said.

"No one likes a girl who looks for pity", Tati said.

"It was fucked up, and we're sorry we threw you into the mess of the party. If we had known Axel was your dom we wouldn't have begged you to come we swear", he said.

"Isaiah, like I told Axel. It's over to don't care", I said.

"Axel feels bad and now I'm getting a puppy", I smiled. All of my friends eyes grew huge they love puppies.

We talked until chapel started and Isaiah and his friend that just follows him around walked back to 31.

*skip to right before dinner*

Axel and I were sitting in the car in silence just enjoying each other's company on our phones until about 15 minutes into dinner.

"Lani, my parents are coming today", he said calmly.

"WHAT", I said. My eyes bulged out of my head.

"My parents are c-", he started repeating calmly like before.

"Axel I heard you. What the heck. This dress is not that cute", I said.

"They already know what your look like. Just behave tonight. It'll be fine. K", he said not even looking up from his phone.

This man is unbelievable.

*at the dinner*

It was not impossible to guess who Axels parents were. It was alumni night. Like past 31.

Everyone's parents were basically there.

Axels dad and mom were bad ass. Everyone basically praised the floor they walked on.

Axels dad has brownish almost a little bit of graying hair. A buzz cut and not that many tattoos. Mainly on his arms. But on pictures I've seen they are all over his calves.

His mom his a red head. She's got this long bob thing going on that frames her face so nicely. She's from Cuba. And she is just amazing.

They met while working together in 31. Although his mom, Stormie, wasn't a submissive. She switched for his dad, Grant and then they got married.

I was deep in thought when I heard my name from a slightly familiar voice. I turned around thinking it was Axel and BOOM. It's Grant. Oh and Stormie by his side.

"Lani, So nice to finally meet you", he said giving me a huge hug.

I was very confused. This is NOT. How I thought it would be.

"You are so beautiful my dear", Stormie said touching my hair. I usually hate that. But her voice was so calming I felt like a puppy myself being petted.

"Guys are y'all sugaring her", Axel said walking up to us.

"How could we not. How could you ever want to punish this beautiful face", Stormie said looking at him while still hugging me.

"Mom you're smothering her. And I don't want to she makes me", he said.

I don't make you do shit. I only thought that in my head.

"Mom we have to go, I promised her a puppy because of what we were talking about", he said. Wow. He told his mom about it. I don't know why but I'm just shocked.

"Lunch, we have to do lunch and I'll take you to get a mani, pedi, how does that sound", she asked.

"That sounds amazing", I smiled.
