â
Zombie Lu Hao had been wandering for a very long time before he found the most amazing treasure in the universe.
To a zombie's senses, humans smelled the most delicious and fragrant, but for some reason, Zombie Hao found them repugnant. They were like buckets of moldy grease, completely unappetizing. Although he never ate any of these humans, he didn't hesitate to zap them like flies if they started being too stinky near his territory.
As for Zombie Hao's territory, it was the whole southern side of what was once known as F City. He didn't remember it was called that, of course. Zombie Hao, while a lot smarter than other zombies, didn't remember any words or names of things. All he knew was that this was 'his place', and anyone that dared to trespass would have to face a very angry zombie.
That was, until Zombie Hao smelled a very delicious scent.
Just outside of Zombie Hao's territory, one of those loud metal beasts roared, and fleshy humans jumped out of it. Zombie Hao had been annoyed by the sound, especially now that his hearing kept getting better and better, so he went to go beat them up. But once he got there, Zombie Hao's nose twitched.
One of the humans was very, very, very tasty-smelling.
Zombie Hao's mouth watered, and he forgot about the other humans. In an instant, he snatched the fragrant human and ran back to his den. Behind him, the others made a small fuss, but he didn't care. After all, he didn't understand the words said behind him, "The Zombie King took Hong Sheng!"
As for the prey in his arms, it was very quiet and shocked. Once Zombie Hao made it back to his den, he took his human inside. Though to Zombie Hao, this building was just a large place that was pleasing to the eye, a certain living person clearly saw the hotel banner advertising the newly-opened luxury couples' suites on the top floor.
The reading-capable prey: "......"
On the top floor, Zombie Hao took his prey to the enormous round nest, which was covered in fluffy heart-shaped pillows and soft bedding. Finally safe and isolated in the nest, Zombie Hao dug his nose against the crook of his prey's nest and breathed in deep.
Delicious!
This was really the tastiest human he'd ever smelled!
Zombie Hao's mouth watered, and kept sniffing hard, locking the prey in his arms so that he would have the best access to its wonderful scent.
A bit of cold sweat started to drip from the prey's skin, which tickled Zombie Hao's nose. Irritated, he licked the sweat clean, only to discover that the human's taste was even better than its smell!
Incredible!
With that, Zombie Hao eagerly started licking the human's neck with the same fervor and passion as a dog gnawing on a bone.
The human prey who'd turned into a dog's bone: ".............."
This kept going for a while until that sour-fear sweat had all been licked away. But then, the human kept getting even more delicious as its skin turned red and sensitive from being licked too much. Addicted, Zombie Hao was ready to go for another round of licking when the human prey hesitantly tapped on his shoulder and said something.
"...Lu, Lu Hao?"
"?" Zombie Hao crooked his head over to look at the prey.
Then, he discovered something even more amazing!
The way the prey looked was absolutely delicious, too!
Even without smelling and tasting the human, just looking at the human's face made Zombie Hao feel extremely happy. Especially the way the human's eyes went so big and round when it looked back at Zombie Hao. He was so pleasing that Zombie Hao just stared intently at him, watching how the human moved its lips around to make noises at him.
It was so cute! Zombie Hao made noises back at him in the way that people cooed and made baby-talk noises at cute animals.
The cute animal that was baby-talked by a zombie: "..................."
The human didn't seem to like the noises Zombie Hao made. Its eyes grew wet and shiny, and its lips pressed together and started trembling.
This reaction startled Zombie Hao. Even though the prey was still good-looking, for some reason, Zombie Hao didn't like seeing it this way. Out of instinct, he licked away the water trails falling from the human's eyes, and he made comforting little growls.
Sniffling, the human reached out and tentatively hugged Zombie Hao.
From then on, Zombie Hao took good care of his human. He knew that humans tried entering his territory to take things away, so if they liked those things, Zombie Hao would give them to his human.
He took the human around his territory and let the human pick out all the things it wanted. His prey was very good and didn't try to run away like the other humans did when they saw Zombie Hao. Pleased, Zombie Hao hugged his human close and sniffed it a few more times.
The human tried making more noises at Zombie Hao, but after realizing that Zombie Hao didn't understand anything, it stopped. Instead, the human obediently stayed by Zombie Hao's side, letting him pet it and lick it as he liked.
Zombie Hao was very happy these days.
But then.
His little human tried to escape.
Recently, big things kept happening in F City, and the borders of Zombie Hao's territory were full of restless humans and zombies always fighting. Annoyed, Zombie Hao had gone out to go clean things up and get some peace and quiet.
It was at that time that he discovered his human had gone missing!
It was gone!
Enraged, Zombie Hao tracked his scent and followed him to the edge of his territory.
Then, what was worse was that he smelled blood!
There was another zombie there, but she looked strange, extremely similar to a human. She was making noises and standing over Zombie Hao's human, who was bleeding and glaring up at her.
When Zombie Hao saw that blood, his eyes went red with fury.
This other zombie hurt his human!
Without a second wasted, Zombie Hao blasted her head off. He hurried over to his bleeding human and fretted. The blood smelled so sweet and delicious, but it meant that his human was hurt, and that it might die.
No, that couldn't happen!
His human had to be with him forever!
The human coughed up blood and said some things to him. It looked at him with wet, confused eyes, and lifted its hand. Zombie Hao's eyes had started leaking out water, which the human gently rubbed away.
The human said, "Lu Hao, I... Thank you for remembering me. It's okay if you want to eat me. I'll be your food."
Zombie Hao didn't understand a word. But he knew, instinctively, that there was only one way to make sure his human didn't die.
He opened his mouth and bit down.
Then, little Zombie Sheng woke up.
Out of everyone in the universe, Zombie King Lu Hao was the happiest zombie of all.
His favorite human had become a cute and adorable zombie who loved to follow him everywhere. Zombie Sheng was a little slow and not as smart as Zombie Hao, but that was okay. He was still a growing zombie, and his brains would get better after he grew up a little more.
Every day, Zombie Hao chased off annoying humans and zombies from his territory, then went home to enjoy his two-person world. He hugged his zombie husband on their round nest filled with heart pillows in the defunct love hotel, and as they growled at each other to talk about their day and the annoying humans who kept popping up on their property, Zombie Hao felt like the world was beautiful.
Together, the two little zombies lived happily ever after.
