Chapter 481
Julian’s Stand-In Wife
When Vans realized the piercing gaze behind him had disappeared, he relaxed slightly and asked, âIs something wrong, Julian?â
Julian knew by Vansâs tone that something was wrong.
Sure enough, when Julian looked up, he saw that Vans stood almost at the same level as him on the balcony with a cigarette in hand. The ash would have fallen on his head if he hadnât looked up in time.
Julian said Instead of replying to Vansâs question, Julian said, âLook down.â
âDown?â Vans repeated, looking down at his shoes. âWhatâs wrong? This is a weird call, even by your standards.â
âI said, look down! The balcony downstairs!â Julian urged.
âThe balcony downstairs?â Vans parroted as he leaned forward slightly.â Wha-â
Before he could finish his sentence, his eyes widened.
He blinked. Confirming that his eyes werenât playing tricks on him, he glanced at Diana to ensure neither she nor Nina was looking at him before stealthily turning back to Julian and demanding with wide eyes, âWhy are you here?!â
Diana had made it clear that she and Julian had drawn the line between them last night. There would be no more interactions between them. This time, she was through with him.
If Diana discovered Julian was hereâ¦
âAre you still following her? Arenât you afraid that sheâll get even angrier?!â
Julian was stunned by Vansâs words, and he couldnât help but feel angry.
âWhose side are you on?â
Vans was taken aback. âUh⦠Yoursâ¦!â
The anger in Julianâs heart dissipated a little. âAt least you have some self- awareness!â
Taking a deep breath, he explained, âI wasnât following her. I just happened to find out that she was moving in today.â
Was it merely a coincidence?
To be honest, Vans didnât believe it. He had lost all confidence in Julianâs understanding of relationships, for the latter always seemed to do things that infuriated his partner.
âWhatever you say, man,â Vans said. âIâm hanging up now. I still have to help Nina move some stuff.â
âWait,â Julian said. He couldnât help but sigh at his best friendâs lack of loyalty, but miraculously, he could understand where Vans was coming from.
As such, he wasnât overly bothered by Vansâs attitude.
âWill Nina be living with Diana now?â
Vans nodded. âYeah.â
âWhat about you?* Julian asked.
âWhat do you think? Iâm obviously not going to be living with them.â
If Vans dared to live in the same place as Diana, Julian would surely flay him alive! No, that was too light of a punishment. Judging by Julianâs twisted mind, he might even arrange for dozens of girls to go after him. Vans wouldnât be able to explain anything to Nina when that happened!
Although it was late, Julian could clearly see Vansâs panicked expression under the dim light.
âWhat are you thinking about? You look like youâre thinking of something inappropriate.â
Vans was speechless.
Somethingâ¦inappropriate?
He⦠Well, fine.
âI was wondering how on earth you could do something so nasty to Diana and thought of giving Oliver to her!â
Once Vans finished talking, he couldnât hold back his laughter anymore. Afterwards, he shrugged helplessly.
Julian immediately picked up on the implications. âLooks like Diana thought of me so quickly this time, thanks to you.â
How did Julian always manage to gain the upper hand in a conversation? How did Julian always manage to catch the flaws in Vansâs words?! It wasnât like he had lived life longer than others, right?
Vans didnât want to admit it, but he finally said, âBro, just tell me if you have any orders, okay? Iâll definitely carry them out without question.â
