The rescue house
earths cleansing and the beginning of human pets
Authors note:
Thank you guys so much for reading! I hope you have enjoyed the journey of a first book, if you want some casual and non serious toned pet stories, I am planning on writing a third book, with a more casual pet owning experience, over this violent and (rather fun to write) sensitive book.
Please vote if you enjoyed and leave a comment if you want to add something or are still really confused by something!
*Aarons POV*
*One month later*
I sat on the couch on the verandah, it was cozy in amongst the fluffy seat cushions, I wanted to lay down but Tria was laying her head on my lap, and she'd be annoyed if I moved, I learnt that from experience, just a week ago we were sitting here and she just casually rests her head on me and when I tried to move, she just complained at me, saying that if I keep moving She'll be sure to make me sit on the floor.
Its funny how things have changed, on that first week we had been pretty wary, even though we had slept with the alien, we still feared it, surprisingly all its done is let us sit around, eat, drink and even bathes us here so we don't need to be surrounded by strange aliens grabbing us and ignoring our cries for them to stop, at least this way its slightly less degrading.
Simon was grumbling about when the alien would get back, I looked at him, he was sitting beside me and Tria's legs were over his lap, "what's up?" I asked, "when's the alien coming back, I wanna go to the park" groaned Simon. Whenever the alien left, we had free range of the house, we were even allowed to sit on the verandah, we've never tried to run off, plus whenever it took us to the park we could meet other humans, it was actually a pretty good life here, why would we want to escape?
Mason was asleep leaning on my shoulder, he was breathing in my ear and I had to fight the urge to swat him away. At the sound of footsteps I looked towards the path that led to the verandah and saw the alien approaching, it looked at us with its weird smile, it was carrying something, and then I realised it was a human wrapped in a blanket, it walked into the house, Tria got up and followed, so did I and Simon, we woke up Mason who sleepily followed, the door opened for us and saw the alien placing the human on the bench, it was a 15 year old looking girl, she saw us and froze, fear in her eyes, we were confused by this response, she wasn't afraid of Tria who tried to reach the top of the bench with a few huffs, the girl continued watching us, the alien patted Tria's head and talked to the girl in its sweet voice it used to calm us down, it finally took the girl off the bench and set her beside Tria, the girl actually hid behind Tria, "hey, what's your name?" Asked Tria, the girl looked at her and mumbled something, before repeating it louder, "Shay", "hey Shay" greeted Simon, the girl didn't respond, Tria told Shay our names and led her around, showing her everything, Tria liked helping others so this was something to keep her occupied, me and the guys exchanged looks, "what do you think happened there?" Asked Simon, I shrugged watching the girls enter the bedroom, "you don't think she was....." Muttered Simon stopping himself at the word we were all thinking, "heh, we'll just have to wait and see" I stated, the alien grabbed our harnesses, it was obvious it was only taking us three on a walk, and happily, Simon let the alien place on his harness, it trusted us without leashes, but we still had to wear harnesses, I guess it sides as a collar.
I was walking out of the bedroom and brushed past Shay, she squeaked, this is how its been for the past week and it was getting on my nerves, so I punched the wall beside her head, her eyes big and terrified, the alien watched, not making a move to intervene, the others gawked at me, "will you shut up! I don't care what you've been through! Stop acting like we're the same as whoever hurt you!" I yelled, she flinched, she had tears in her eyes, I pulled away and stormed off, I heard Shay run over to Tria, Simon was calling out to me, I didn't care, I was sick of someone thinking me so weak I would hurt them for no reason, I guess I did still have a piece of my old self.
It wasn't until that planet's sun was setting that I joined the others, noone looked mad, Shay had red and puffy eyes, "I... I'm sorry, for my behaviour" she whimpered, I looked at her, she was a mess, blonde hair a mess and dull blue eyes, "look, I'm the one who's sorry here, I shouldn't have done that after whatever you went through, I shouldn't have said that either," I stated sincerely, she gave me a sad smile, Tria hugged her close, "awe, see! I told ya! Aaron is a big softy" she cooed, breaking into laughter, the girl giggled, she didn't look absolutely happy, but this was an improvement, the alien chattered to me and even though I didn't understand completely, I recognised the word that it called me, so I knew it was talking to me, I joined the alien and curled up on the bed, I had grown comfortable with the big fluffy alien, so comfortable in fact that I was actually fond of it, Simon was lying on the bed as well, he looked at me, and smiled.
The next day we went for a walk, it was Shays first walk with us and she was pretty wary, walking between Tria and Mason, I was behind them with Simon, we were discussing the important subject of who will get to the mega slide first, the park for humans has 2 play sets, one for the young and another for the older, the mega slide was a big water slide, the park itself was a bigger version of the pet area that the kangaroo looking alien had dropped us off in so long ago.
The alien stopped to talk to another, this alien had two humans, two guys, I could see Mason and Shay tense up, the bigger of the guys sneered at Shay, "I see, you're going have another one growing in that belly" he said, his face a nasty look of lust, I stepped forward, "what do you mean?" I asked, he gave me a grin, "A baby, with that many guys I wonder how many you'll have" he said turning back to look at Shay, she looked upset and angry, "but maybe you killed it like you killed my one" he growled, "look dude, we just got her to stop being frightened when someone brushes past her, so can you stop" I grumbled, he looked at me confused, "what? You're saying you haven't, fucked her yet?" Asked the guy, "no! what is wrong with you!" I growled, he looked blatantly baffled, "but we're animals now so we can act like animals" pointed out the guy, I shook my head, "no, humans have always been animals, and as animals we agree that rape is wrong" I stated, I felt angry, understandably angry, he stared at me, "your saying those two don't make you want to.." I interrupted his words "I get as hard as a dirty sock", he looked at me, Tria tried not to laugh, but I could tell she was angry, and if I don't deal with this she will, " seriously!" Came the guys voice, "I just had to tell the vet person that I didn't feel safe with him and they sent me to a pet centre, I destroyed the embryo" came Shays quiet voice, the guy growled "stupid Bitch, I don't even, how that happened", I just watched them, before asking Mason what's up.
Mason shook his head, the second guy was looking at Mason, " Anthony? Where's your friend? Hey? Where's Mason?" Asked the second guy, Mason flinched and shut his eyes, I didn't know what to do here, "s...shut up Mitch" whispered Mason, I watched him surprised at hearing his voice, it was scratchy from not being used, "ooh, he called you Mason didn't he? What happened?" There wasn't an ounce of sympathy in the second guys voice, "what happened to the drama kid?" Asked Mason, the Mitch guy frowned, "he didn't like being around me" he angrily grumbled, "ooh don't tell me that Mason kicked the bucket" joked Mitch obviously lashing out, Mason shivered, "no. I'm Mason, I... Anthony was the one who was killed, Mason wasn't.." Began Mason, the look in his eyes said that he knew it wasn't true, the first guy was still staring at Shay and Tria, who was getting quite annoyed at his watching eyes, and inconsiderate attitude, Simon rubbed Masons, no, Anthony's back, "buddy, live for him not as him" mumbled Simon, Anthony shook his head, but we could tell the act was wearing thin on him, he was finally being broken.
Our alien watched us in confusion, it seemed to understand the situation between Shay and the guy. Since Simon and I were consoling Anthony, the first guy took advantage of Tria and Shay being without us and walked over to the girls, I turned and looked as Shay squeaked, Tria on the other hand, growled, it was the second time I had heard that growl, the first was when my arm had been shattered, the guy frowned, "shut up" he commanded Tria didn't listen, the guy looked almost 20, and thinking of someone his size forcing themselves onto a 15 year old would make anyone's blood boil, the alien fidgeted a little and Shay desperately asked to be picked up, raising her arms and making a nervous noise, the alien complied holding her in one arm like she was a child, the guy continued to advance on Tria, none of us guys moved, she could defend herself, we were sure of that. As soon as the guy tried to touch her she lashed out, aiming a decent kick at the guys balls, the guy fell to his knees gasping with a few stray tears leaking down his face, "you fucking bitch" he gasped, Tria frowned, the guy was at the end of his lead, the second alien rushed to check on the guy, our alien flinched along with us, Tria walked towards us and was glaring her vicious glare she wore when she was angry, at least I looked cold when I was mad she looked like she would set you on fire while juggling the fire extinguisher, which is surprising for someone who adapts so well.
We spent the rest of that day playing at the park, forcing the meeting out of our minds, we had fun nevertheless and even managed to involve Shay without her freaking out.
Life went pretty well for a few more months, with our alien, who turned out to be a male, (kinda walked in on him going toilet by accident) bringing in other rescued humans, most being companionless which was a big surprise, and today, our group of four are sitting on the outside couch watching the sky change as the sun set, the alien sitting in the middle, Tria curled up in his lap, her head resting on my lap, Simon sat beside the alien with Anthony sitting on the floor draped in Simon's legs, it was a peaceful evening, it was hard to act tough with a girls head laying in your lap talking about flowers, but its also nice not always trying to prove your strength, there was a strange social order in this house, I began to notice it last month, it seems Tria is at the top, because she adapts so well that she has fun encouraging everyone to learn, while I like to see myself as her equal, I'm not actually sure if that's true. The automatic door opened as the other people came out after finishing their dinner, the youngest was a 12 year old boy, the oldest was a 21 year old girl, they joined us, Shay came and sat in the corner beside Simon, the 21 year old called Joanna sat beside me, the 12 year old boy we called Marty, he couldn't say his name in English, because his English was poor, since he was from some European country, he sat under my legs letting them rest on his shoulders, Tria moved her hand down and played with his hair, the final person a girl called Olivier, she was 13 and sat on the aliens feet oohing at the pretty flowers in the front garden, and the way the sky changed colour as the sun set, everyone here suffered something at the hands of either another person or aliens and here we sat in the equivalent of a dog rescuers house, and somehow I didn't feel angry at the situation anymore, I am happy, and I know I will be able to enjoy this every single day even when there is to many humans to fit, we'll enjoy it as a weird pet human family, the alien patted my head and I leant into it, yea, this is home now.
