Chapter 2

New Life as Colin Drew (0.1)

Screw This

"Oh! You must be confused," the system nods to itself, "You have died and are now going to be my host. Together we are going to help people with their wishes!"

"...." Yeong-Cheol deadpans at how blunt the system is,"...Sure, you know screw normalcy anyway. Let's do it."

"Wait really?!" The system glances at him, "Normally hosts take a while or ask more questions. Huh ok well, then let's get working on our new tasks!"

"Your first person will be Colin Drew. He attends an all-boys school and he was taken in by the ML's family as a private assassin. He is a minor villain who was ordered by the head boss of the ML's family to kill the ML. He was killed by the ML during the scuffle."

"..So I'm going to die early on?" Yeong-Cheol stares at the system with silent judgment.

"Well," the system sways, "not exactly. Listen first and then I'll answer your questions."

"The ML is a boy named Caine Novak, he is the firstborn son of the company Nova Enterprise. He also attends the all-boys school where he meets the FL. The FL is going undercover with her childhood friend at the school. Her name is Skye Tierney and her lackey is called John Adkins. The FL's parents own a bakery and Caine finds out her secret when he visits the bakery and sees her helping out. He blackmails her into doing things for him and long story short they end up falling for each other."

"...what the hell," Yeong-Cheol shakes his head in disbelief, "That's so unrealistic, there is no way someone would fall in love with someone who is blackmailing them!"

"Well, I didn't write this," the system nods, "either way. Your job is to fulfill the tasks given by the person. Colin Drew's wishes are:

1) Graduate Highschool

2) Break Away from the Novak Family.

3) Become a chef

That's all of them."

"A chef?" Yeong-Cheol inquires, "I have no clue how to cook, how am I supposed to become a chef?" He could cook at most a thing of noodles, forget professional cooking he could barely cook normally!

"Well host!" the system's screen face smiles, "If you purchase the skill then you'll be able to!"

"So there are skills to purchase...hmm," Yeong-Cheol thinks out loud, "Can you tell me how much it would cost and how much I have now."

"Sure thing host," the system flashes green and then it dings, "Host currently has 500 points. Skill cooking would take 250 points."

"Ok," Yeong-Cheol nods," I'll get the skill since it seems kinda necessary. Do you think I need anything else?" He sure hoped not, there sure aren't a lot of points.

"Hmm, well since it's host's beginner world the skills of the original will transfer over so I think you're fine."

"Wait for a second! If the skill transfers over then why did I get the cooking skill?"

"...He's a terrible cook..." the system looks away sheepishly.

"...right well you already bought the skill didn't you?" Deciding that he didn't want to drag this on longer he just resigned.

"Yep!" the system smiles, "Transfering skills and experience over to host in 3, 2, 1!"

Flashes of memories flow through his head. Despite never taking a cooking class in his life he watches himself cook and learn from master chefs all over the world. Wincing as the end of the memories flow through his head he grabs his head. "Owww, you could have told me it hurts."

"Sorry host," the system looked apologetic, " Anyways let me give you the rest of your beginner package and we can enter the world soon!"

"...there's more?" Still grabbing his head Yeong-Cheol slowly softens his grip.

"Yep! Host has been given more items! You currently have these items in your inventory:

3 detox pills

2 cure-all pills

1 death saver pill

and 1 lucky spin ticket!

Host is pretty lucky! These items are rather rare!" System 3089 sways back and forth.

"Coool? I guess? I don't know what some of these do but let's get going anyways." Placing his hand on his hip he stares at the weird system.

"Ok host! Transfering in 3...2...1!" The world around him turns white and he feels himself become lighter. He can feel the heat coming from whatever room he's in and he can hear students walking up and down the hallway.

"Oh, deary! Are you up?" The school's nurse asks seeing him wiggle his body out of the cocoon of blankets.

"M-Mrs. Genavitch," Yeong-Cheol groans as he feels his head pounding again, "W-what happened?" His eyes wander around the schoolroom. A few cots line one of the walls and a few cabinets full of random medical items and a desk line the other. A few plants are placed around the room to break away from the seemingly white theme.

"You fell down the stairs," she pauses and stares at him, "now, I know you, Colin, you aren't that clumsy. Did someone push you?" She stares at him in expectation.

"...I-I don't remember...I don't even remember falling down the stairs!" Colin states while trying to process this bodies memories that were starting to flood his head.

"Oh no," the nurse pales a little, "It might be more serious then I thought, do you have someone who can make sure you wake up every two hours? You must have hit your head pretty hard..." Her eyes turn worried and she lightly touches his head.

"I-Yes," He stutters trying to remember, "I think I should be fine. Thank you Mrs. Genvitch."

"It's not me you should be thanking," the nurse shakes her head," Thank Mr. Novak who helped you after seeing you on the floor. Honestly, it was a miracle that he had to use the restroom or we may not have found you till much later!"

"..Yeah..." Well that's suspicious, did the ML really just come across him on coincidence?

"Well, since classes are over I need you to head back to your dorms. Please make sure to have someone who wakes you up," She watches as Colin pulls himself off the bed and flinches when he touches the cold floor. After putting on his shoes he waves at her and he leaves for his dorm room.

"Oh, well look who showed up," a male with light brown hair and blue eyes says while turning his nose upwards at him. "It's Mr. Clumsy. How in the world did you manage to fall down the stairs while walking huh?" The mocking tone immediately sets Colin off. He already wants to strangle this fool who can't even understand that falling downstairs is dangerous.

Deciding on at least flicking this person he stops trying to unlock his door room and goes to walk down the hallway. "Host! I don't think that's a good idea..."

Gritting his teeth Colin whispers," and why is that?"

"...Host that's the FL..."
