"Tanner, you have a call."
Sven held out the landline expectantly as he gazed at his Sire. Eras ago he had been royalty himself. The stunning platinum blonde had shoulder length hair that glimmered like the fine jewels that had been encrusted on his tiara. "From who?"
Their love had been fleeting and violent. Two passionate people engaged in such a fiery way it fizzled out within a hundred years and the two took to a friendship. By that time Sven had been gone from the throne too long and he went to life opposite his past: from ruling to servitude. However serving Tanner was a treat most days. The two shared fond memories a closeness no other, save for another spawn of Tanner, could know. That being said, he did feel a twinge of jealousy as he watched him cuddling the were with a tenderness he'd never seen.
The smiling boy had grown on Sven almost immediately. Whether it was his big, warm eyes or the dazzling innocence, Sven wasn't sure. But he wanted to foster the relationship between the two. He wanted the best for ex-lover and if that was the were, so be it. Besides Luca only had a hundred years top. Sven and Tanne Thad forever to reexplore and rekindle their failed love.
"Griffin. He's rather upset."
Tanner sighed in defeat. He had forgotten about the twins and their reservations. "Thank you." Inwardly cringing he took the receiver and spoke. "Hello?"
"Reagan is pissed Tanner! And do you know how mortifying it is to be told you don't have a reservation?"
"You do! It's just a mix up." Tanner juggled Luca to he side a bit as he pulled out his cellphone and messaged Erin, the twin he knew best.
He viewed it immediately--a testament to the sway the ancient man had. Erin, of course, said he would get them in--on the condition he joined them. Tanner wanted a quiet night home letting Luca get comfortable and perhaps even playing some together. But he didn't want to disappoint his friend. And he had made a promise. When Tanner said he'd do something he did it.
Tanner responded and spoke seamlessly to Griffin. "We'll probably join you. I failed The to buy were-ingredients."
"Oh we were hoping for a--"
"It's officially not what you were hoping for. Sorry." Tanner retorted shortly. He may have felt bad for crashing his friend's plans but without him he wouldn't have had any plans. "Go on in. We'll be there in twenty."
"What are we supposed to do for twenty minutes Tanner? Can't you hurry? I'm parched." Griffin sounded annoyed and Tanner smiled toying with Luca's soft strands. Luca giggled and leaned against him. His thumb found its way to his mouth. Tanner was in awe at how adorable he was.
"Order champagne." Tanner decided shortly. "We'll be there soon."
He hung up and passed the phone to Sven who was relieved he could put off his grocery shopping. Lately going out was getting a bit dicier. Demons were growing hostile and tended to be more active at night. Tanner had an intimidating stature but Sven did not.
"Daddy leave Luca?" The were asked in a wavering voice
Had he driven his Daddy away already? He was he bored with Luca and ready to pick up another were? Luca felt ready to cry. "No cupcake. Luca and Daddy are going to see Uncle Griffin again."
The boy's tears vanished. He felt a dork of excitement to be and to explore but he didn't really like Uncle Griffin much. He took a long time to decide and was boring. But Luca would still be with his Daddy so he didn't mind. "Okay. Luca watch first?" He was enjoying the tv--he wasn't ready to leave again.
"Sorry pumpkin--Daddy has to hurry."
Luca pouted up at Tanner. "Luca wanna stay."
"You want to stay here while Daddy goes out?" Tanner was surprised.
Luca quickly shook his head. "No! Daddy stay home with Luca!"
"I'm sorry cupcake. But we'll come home as soon as we can okay? Aren't you hungry?"
"Luca wanna eat with Daddy."
"Alright." Smiled Tanner. "Do you want to change?"
He was still wearing his too-big clothing. It was adorable but Tanner wanted his little boy comfortable. "No."
"Alright then. Let's go."
