Chapter 576 Make A Deal
A Crazy Night Novel
Christina could still remember what Miranda was like when she met the latter at the mall half a year ago. Back then, she looked like a lion who has been tamed, and she was fearful and anxious when she met me.
Even i Miranda was merely fighting back for Emiliaâs sake, the former had always been timid. Miranda wouldnât dare to act haughtily in front of Christina after hurting Sharon without someone backing her The only logical explanation was that Miranda knew Christina couldnât harm her because someone else would help her get out of trouble.
âEmilia is still locked up, isnât she?â Christina sneered. âPerhaps I should send you there as well so that you guys can keep each other company for the rest of your 1 r lives.â
Hearing that, Miranda glared at Christina fiercely, as though she was venting her anger for someone else while looking at Christinaâs face..
Enraged, Miranda spat through gritted teeth. âYou donât have evidence, Christina! I know youâre married to Nathaniel, but you canât act however you want!â
Christina flashed a faint smile. âItâs worth a try to see what Iâm capable of doing as Nathanielâs wife, no? Let me remind you about something. Even if I canât do or act however I like, I can still send Emilia and you to Prison based on the crimes you guys committed. I donât even need to go through the trouble to find -evidence.â
Upon hearing that, Miranda merely stared at Christina silently.
The atmosphere became tense after that. Victoria had mysophobia, so she hated the environment there. Throughout the entire time, she stood outside the entrance with a hand covering her mouth and nose. However, she was worried about leaving Christina there alone, so she stayed.
Right then, Victoria noticed that the conversation was going nowhere. Thus, she uttered in annoyance, âChristina, why are you showing them mercy when they have never treated you right? Just do as I say and get someone to beat her up. In fact, you can even torture her. If you torture her, sheâll definitely give in and tell you who the mastermind is.â
As soon as those words fell, Miranda sized Victoria up. The girl beside Christina is a glamorous girl dressed in expensive clothes. Seeing how domineering she is, I bet sheâs a tough person to deal with. Obviously, Christina isnât in a good mood. What if Christina takes her suggestion and tortures me to make me talk?
Christina was pregnant, so she didnât want to act violently. Miranda loves Emilia dearly, so I should have leverage over her. If I play it right, Iâm sure Miranda will spill With that in mind, Christina uttered, âIâll give you ten minutes to think about it, Mdm. Weaver. If you donât tell me who instructed you to find fault with my mother by saying that you wanted to borrow money from her to bail Emilia out, Iâll get someone to send all the evidence to the police station. If I do that, youâll never see your daughter again.â
Christina wasnât lying to Miranda because she could prove the crimes Miranda and Emilia committed. I didnât expose them before this because the Steele family had already paid an equivalent price. I had to have a backup plan because there was a chance the Steele family would do something unimaginable when they were cornered.
Christina wanted to look after herself and Sharon.
Yet, Christinaâs kindness eventually came back to bite her and Sharon.
A look of panic titted across Mirandaâs eyes, and she gritted her teeth. However, she was still reluctant to speak.
All of a sudden, Christina seemed to have remembered something. In an even colder tone, she questioned, âWait... Why did you look for my mother when the grudge is between you guys and me? What are you guys planning to do?â
Miranda chuckled in response, and the look of fear in her eyes was replaced by utter arrogance. With a smirk, she stared at Christina and asked casually, âYouâre a smart woman, arenât you, Christina? Why donât we make a deal?â
Christina furrowed her brows.
Anxious, Victoria urged, âChristina, donât believe a word she says. Thereâs a chance she doesnât know anything. She could be lying to you.â
At last, Victoria figured out something about what was going on. Miranda didnât go to Sharon for money. Instead. Miranda had an ulterior motive. Sharon is Christinaâs adoptive mother, so if something were to happen to Sharon, that could be a devastating blow that would cause Christina to crumble. Once that happens, Christina might end up having a miscarriage. They were trying to kill two birds with one stone? How evil!
In the beginning. Christina had the same idea as Victoria, so Christina used Emilia to tackle Mirandaâs soft Spot However, Christina and Victoria missed out on one thing. Although Miranda was timid, she was a scheming woman.
âGet Emilia out, and Iâll tell you who instructed me to find trouble with you and your mother, Miranda said.
Christina was unfazed, and she seemed to be thinking about something.
Although Miranda was palpitating, she uttered in a calm tone. âThat person wants to take down more than just Sharon and you.
You and your mother are simply standing in the way of something even bigger. Hence, I thought using Emilia to take down everyone close to you was a good dealâ
âHow can I be sure you arenât lying to me. Mdm. Weaver? You still have less than seven minutes left to think about what to do. Iâll wait for you outside, Christina uttered expressionlessly.
With that. Christina turned around and went to the courtyard. After she left, the bodyguard immediately closed the door behind her to stop Miranda from glaring at Christina viciously.
In the courtyard, Victoria asked, âChristina, should I send someone to investigate the matter? Letâs see who that woman had interacted with.â
âYou wonât find anything. We shouldnât waste our time doing something thatâs pointless. What we need to do now is wait.â
Christina shook her head.
Right then, a series of heavy footsteps rang out from outside.
Moments later, Nathaniel and Sebastian were seen walking in.
Nathanielâs expression was gloomy, and the black coat draped over his shoulders was fluttering in the wind as he made his dramatic entrance.
Victoria freaked out when she saw Nathaniel, so she instinctively hid behind Christina. However, she still felt unsafe. As a result, she hurried toward Sebastian and hid behind him Sebastian cast a quick glance at her when she approached him Victoria then tugged at Sebastianâs sleeve and asked softly, âWhy are you and Mr. Hadley here?â
Sebastian silently pulled his sleeve out of her grip and said, âYouâre a handful, Ms. Lesley Mr. Hadley is really displeased.â
Feeling guilty. Victoria scratched her nose sheepishly and responded, âUm... Mr. Hadley might have a lot of things to say to Christina. Should we head out first?â
Victoria didnât want to get in trouble.
An amused look flashed past Sebastianâs eyes when he saw how terrified Victoria was. He even went on to scare her by saying.
âMr. Hadley will most probably settle the score with you later.â
Upon hearing that, Victoria suddenly squeezed Sebastianâs wrist. With a sincere look in her eyes, she uttered, âSebastian, what about our relationship? You canât sit on your hands and do nothing!â
Right then, Nathaniel turned around to glance in Victoriaâs direction. Frightened, she turned around and fled. âMr. Hadley, Christina, I forgot I had something important to attend to! Bye!â
