Chapter 431 Bad Guy After Mommy
A Crazy Night Novel
Nathanielâs expression turned dark as he switched off his camera instantly.
Without hesitation, he went into the changing room to get changed into a fresh suit before rejoining the conference call.
At the same time, Christina was humming pleasantly in her office downstairs.
It would certainly be quite a surprise for the employees to witness Nathaniel attending a meeting with a visible lipstick stain on his collar. The typically composed and indifferent CEO would be exposed as a hypocritical pervert in secret Letâs see if he ever dares to take advantage of me again in the future.
Christina was in a great mood, so work progressed smoothly for her.
When it was almost time to get off work, Christina packed her things and left earlier than usual to pick the kids up from kindergarten.
She missed the kids terribly after being apart from them the entire day.
The three of them hugged each other tightly, and Christina kissed their fluffy cheeks. âIâll prepare a spread for you tonight!â
âYay! Mommy is the best!â The kids eyes sparkled with delight when they learned that Christina would be bringing them to the supermarket.
The supermarket is full of delicious snacks and candy!
The kids quickly offered, âMommy, Iâll help you carry the stuff.â
âIm going to help, too!â
âOkay, both of you can help,â Christina told them as she buckled them up. After getting into the driverâs seat, she drove away.
She went to the nearby supermarket to buy the ingredients to prepare a spread for her children.
At the supermarket, she bought many fresh seafood and ingredients. Naturally, she didnât forget to buy various snacks for the children.
It was a fruitful trip for the three of them. In the underground parking lot, Christina told the kids to get into the car before getting two candies for them.
âSit tight. Iâll bring you home after putting the stuff we bought in the trunk,â she told them.
Christina shut the door and went to the trunk with her shopping bag.
Suddenly, she felt a sharp knife pressing at the back of her waist, and a manâs hoarse voice rang out. âDonât move. Otherwise, I wonât hesitate to kill you.â
A shiver ran down Christinaâs spine as she realized that her parking spot was secluded, making her an easy target for the thief.
The kids were still inside the car. Not wanting to alert them, she played along. âSir, I can give you my money. Please donât hurt me!â
She dared not look back as she retrieved all the cash in her bag and placed it on the hood of the trunk. âHere is all the money I got.â
The lights in the parking lot were dim, so the sparkling diamond on her finger was pretty obvious. It captured the thiefâs attention.
âTake off your ring.â he urged.
Christina covered the ring instinctively. âItâs costume jewelry that isnât worth much...â
âI said, take it off? Hurry!â the thief snapped impatient The children, alerted by the commotion, huddled by the back window, their faces filled with panic as they witnessed the thiefâs menacing actions toward their mother.
Christina motioned for the kids to stay put and slowly pulled out the ring from her ring finger.
Right then, a tall figure appeared out of nowhere and kicked the thief away.
The thief let out an anguished cry before crashing to the ground. He quickly fled the scene in fear.
âChristina, are you okay?â
Christina swiftly turned her head, but to her dismay, the thief had vanished into thin air by the time she regained her senses.
She met Francis worried gaze. He was wearing a mask that concealed half of his face.
Tilting her head, Christina asked, âWhy are you here?â
âI was shooting in the studio upstairs and spotted you when I was leaving,â Francis explained nonchalantly.
Christina bobbed her head. âThank you.â
âJust saying thank you isnât enough. Shouldnât you invite me to dinner at your house?â Francisâ lips curled as he inched nearer to her. âYou wonât be that ungrateful, right?â
Christinaâs lips twitched in exasperation. âFine, then.â
Francis flashed a satisfied grin and hopped into the passenger seat.
After putting on her ring. Christina kept her cash before returning to the driverâs seat.
Once she got into the car, the kids swarmed over to her. âMommy, are you okay?â
âMommy, did you get hurt?â
Not wanting them to worry, Christina turned over her shoulder to give them a reassuring smile. âIâm fine. The bad guy has been chased away.â
Francis took the chance to get into their good books. âI was the one who chased him away. I was capable.
Lucas shot him a frosty glare. âThe thief escaped right after he saw you. Were you in cahoots with him?â
Francis lips twitched as he let out an icy snort.
Before he could explain. Lucas added. âYou didnât even take action. He ran away the moment he spotted you. It seemed like an act Christina had her back to the thief the whole time and couldnât see anything. Hearing Lucas words, the started suspecting Francis.
Francis wore a pained expression as he bitterly voiced his thoughts. âMaybe he got intimidated by my strong presence. Or perhaps heâs just a coward who only preys on women and not men. Either way, I did manage to save your mommy. It would be nice if you could at least say thank you. Isnât that a bit rude of you to question me?â
Lucas couldnât refute his words and settled back into his seat wordlessly.
Christina also felt that it wasnât right to suspect Francis. She didnât have any proof to connect him to the matter. #hy would Francis act this childish, though?
She started the engine and drove back to the condominium. Around ten minutes later, they arrived at their destination and went upstairs.
âCome on in.â
The kids ran into the house with the shopping bags. After entering the house, Christina removed her shoes and opened the shoe cabinet to realize there was only one pair of menâs slippers.
She glanced at it before taking out her own slippers. Shutting the door, she said, âI donât have any slipper) for you. Come in after taking off your shoes.â
Francis didnât mind and walked into the living room after taking off his shoes.
Christina went straight to the kitchen. She didnât forget to remind the kids, âGet Mr. Fernando a glass of water.â
âGot it, Mommy!â
Lucas and Camila exchanged a look before flashing knowing smiles.
Soon, Lucas placed a cup of water in front of Francis. He had used a disposable cup.
Camila tilted her head to ask, âLucas, why didnât you use a washable cup?â
Lucas said solemnly. âMr. Fernando is a guest, and heâll be leaving soon. Only Daddy gets his own cup.â
âOh, Lucas. Thatâs amazing!â Camila praised.
Through their conversation, it was clear that the kids were mocking Francis, wanting him to leave their house as soon as possible.
Alas, they had underestimated Francis, unaware of his experience in the entertainment industry.
Francis didnât get upset or angry. In fact, he even gave them a warm smile, âNext time, Iâll buy a set of five cups. That way, Iâll get my own cup when I visit next time.â
Both kids couldnât help but wonder how this handsome man could be so thick-skinned.
Right then, the doorbell rang.
Camilaâs eyes lit up as she grabbed a stool and ran over to the door. Hopping onto the stool, she unlocked the door and opened it.
âDaddy, a bad guy is after Mommy. Hurry, come on
