Chapter 364 - Very Dumb Idea

“This isn’t a Wei family event. How can Wei Keli invite her here?” Tan Mo had a feeling that no matter how stupid Wei Keli was, this wasn’t something he would do. Then again, it felt like something he would actually do. “Is he really that stupid?”

As a guest and not an important guest at that, Wei Keli did not have the right to invite another guest without the approval of the host. He didn’t even have the right to suggest inviting another guest.

“I’m the one who invited her,” Wei Zhiqian said, as if he understood what Tan Mo meant, and he explained. “I asked Mufeng about it, and he didn’t mind.”

“Why did you invite her?” Tan Mo blinked as she looked at Wei Zhiqian.

What is Uncle planning now? That’s the thought that went through Tan Mo’s head.

SHUSH! Wei Zhiqian put a finger in front of Tan Mo’s lips. When he touched her soft lips, his finger trembled a little.

Her lips were so soft that he thought he was touching warm Jello.

Her warm breath kept hitting his finger, and it began to itch.

He recalled the time when he had noticed how plump Tan Mo’s lips were while they ate at the barbeque place. He had always wondered if her lips were as soft to the touch as they seemed to be.

Now that he thought about it, he had already spent more than a decade with Tan Mo by his side. They had hugged and held each other’s hands all that time, but he had never touched her lips before. Not even once.

This was his first time touching them.

He could feel the softness in her lips, and also the wetness and springiness.

Shortly after that, Tan Mo heard the sound of fighting outside.

She turned to look at Wei Zhiqian with her eyes wide open but without a hint of fear.

All Wei Zhiqian saw in her big eyes was curiosity and no fear.

He raised his brows and smiled. “Aren’t you afraid?” Wei Zhiqian asked in a low voice.

Tan Mo smiled back at him, shook her head, and whispered, “With Uncle here, there’s nothing to worry about.”

Wei Zhiqian smiled again and pulled her into his arms to protect her.

Not long after that, a serious and scary-looking bodyguard came in while dragging a man with him.

“So, what happened?” Wei Zhiqian asked his bodyguard but did not move from his position. He still had his arms around Tan Mo’s shoulder so that he could continue to shield her if anything suddenly happened.

“When I caught him, he was doing something to the fire sprinklers,” the bodyguard reported.

HMM! “You, speak! What were you doing?” Wei Zhiqian turned to address the man who had been caught. “Don’t even try to lie. I don’t want to be forced to use violence.”

The man, who actually felt bad for what he had almost done, was instantly petrified by Wei Zhiqian’s aura.

The bodyguard suddenly kicked the man onto his knees from behind him. His knees gave in and he was forced to kneel in front of Wei Zhiqian.

ARGH! The man yelled in pain as his knees hit the cold hard floor.

There was even a loud bang when they hit the floor.

Tan Mo could imagine how painful it had been from the sound it caused.

Tears filled the man’s eyes right away from the pain. His body was telling him to grab his knees to soothe the pain, but his arms were locked from behind by the bodyguard, and he could not move them.

“Speak!” the bodyguard ordered and stepped on the man’s ankle a few times.

“S…stop! I’ll talk!” The man finally gave in. “A…a lady by the name of Qin Murong came to me and paid me a huge sum of money to splash water over another lady. After it was done, I was to report back to her. I don’t know who the target was. She only told me that a lady would be in the room, and she would be the target. It took me half a day to decide to tamper with the fire sprinkler. I was sure that the lady would go into the kitchen one way or another. She would have to get some water or maybe cook up a supper. I just wanted to make the sprinkler go off when she does.”

Wei Zhiqian’s expression darkened when he heard that.

It was as if he suddenly became the incarnation of Asura.

The man stared at Wei Zhiqian and his body trembled in fear. He knelt in front of Wei Zhiqian and looked at the alpha male in front of him.

The closer Wei Zhiqian approached the man, the more the man’s body trembled.

The man had pretty much been employed by Qin Murong to do something to Tan Mo. Since he had to make sure Tan Mo got wet, he would have to wait before reporting back to Qin Murong.

The thought of the man hiding nearby after Tan Mo was sprayed with water made Wei Zhiqian furious.

Since it was summertime, Tan Mo’s thin clothes would turn half-transparent if that happened. The man would’ve been able to see everything.

There was no way Tan Mo could keep his anger down after that.

Wei Zhiqian raised his leg and brought it down on the man’s face with full force.

The man yelled in excruciating pain as he fell backward.

When he regained consciousness shortly after, he could feel the blood coming out of his nostrils.

The blood slowly seeped into his mouth, and he could taste its metallic flavor.

“Take him away. Hand him to the resort. Just tell them that this person broke into the compound,” Wei Zhiqian ordered his bodyguard.

“Sir!” The bodyguard saluted and left with the man.

With his back still to Tan Mo, Wei Zhiqian suppressed his anger before turning around.

“Uncle, what happened?” Tan Mo quickly asked. “What is Qin Murong thinking?”

Tan Mo knew that Qin Murong was up to no good, but even the little snow fairy was utterly surprised by how stupid the idea Qin Murong actually came up with was.

Wei Zhiqian sat back down next to Tan Mo and smirked. “I seriously can’t understand that Qin Murong anymore. How stupid does one have to be to think of such a dumb idea? Does she think she still lives in ancient times? Didn’t Qin Muxiao ask Muye to go to her room? I think she was doing that to separate Muye from you, leaving you alone. Then when you got wet because of the sprinkler and went to change your clothes, they were going to let Wei Keli go into your room.”

“I seriously don’t get this plan of hers. It’s not like we are living in a time where I would have to marry anyone who sees me naked or I have to die. What good will this do her?” Tan Mo asked.

“Even so, you can’t let him see you naked!” Wei Zhiqian scolded her, unable to believe that she didn’t realize the situation she had almost been in.

“Of course. It’s just that I don’t understand what her goal was.” Tan Mo sighed.

“It’s not like there’s some grand plan in all this. All she wants is for Wei Keli to see you naked, and when the guests learn about it, they’ll spread it around, and people will think that you two are dating. This will at least stop those who want to date you, and Wei Keli will be the only option left for you.”

When Tan Mo heard that explanation, her mouth dropped open.

“This is the worst plan I’ve ever heard!” Tan Mo exclaimed, wondering how dumb a person had to be to think of such an idea.
