With Qin Mufeng around, Qin Muye would be in safe hands.

He was her older brother after all, and the next head of the Qin family. Even though he was still only an heir, he already held most of the power in the family.

Qin Muye immediately understood Tan Mo’s intentions and nodded, “That’s right. My brother has to come with us.”

“Sure thing.” Surprisingly, Qin Muxiao agreed to it.

Even Tan Mo was shocked by that. Is she really here to call a truce?

“I’m fine with Mufeng joining us, but not Tan Mo,” Qin Muxiao then said, standing her ground. “The reason I want to call a truce between us is that we are cousins, and it’ll be humiliating if others see us like this. And since it’s your birthday today, there’s no harm for me to lower my head and propose it first. It’ll even make it seem like I’m generous and understanding.”

Qin Muye couldn’t help but click her tongue when her cousin said that. It seemed to her that Qin Muxiao was even more shameless now.

“But there’s no reason for me to have a friendly relationship with Tan Mo,” Qin Muxiao continued, not even trying to hide her hatred of Tan Mo. “I don’t need to act like I’m close to her, and I don’t need to see her annoying face.”

Tan Mo did not mind what she said.

The only reason that she wanted to go with Qin Muye was that she was scared that Qin Muxiao might do something to Qin Muye.

But now that Qin Muxiao had agreed to let Qin Mufeng join them, there was no need for Tan Mo to join them anymore.

“Sure.” Tan Mo shrugged. “I don’t have to go. Muye, why don’t you call Uncle Mufeng first? Tell him to meet us here.”

“Okay.” Qin Muye nodded.

“Let’s just call him on our way to my villa. That way, he doesn’t have to come all the way here just to leave and go there,” Qin Muxiao proposed.

“Then, I’m going to follow Muye until she meets up with her brother. I’m not leaving her side until I see him,” Tan Mo said with a smile.

“Are you saying that you don’t trust me?” Qin Muxiao scolded her.

“Yes,” Tan Mo nodded, not trying to hide her distrust. “With what you have tried to do to us in the past, there’s no way I could trust you, could I? I’m definitely not going to leave Muye with you alone. Who knows what you’ll do before she meets up with her brother. If something happens then, there will be no other witness.”

“What can I even do to her?” Qin Muxiao roared. “The only people in this resort now are all friends and family. If anything happens when she’s with me, won’t I be the first suspect? Mufeng is here as well. Do you think he’ll forgive me if anything happens to Muye? Tan Mo, can you use your stupid brain? How dumb can you be?”

“Well, since you know how important Muye is to Uncle Mufeng, shouldn’t we wait until he arrives then? What if something really happens and you didn’t do it? You’ll have to take the fall then, no? If we want to prevent something like that from happening, we should be more careful. This is the best for Muye and you,” Tan Mo explained with a smile still on her face. She didn’t even flinch when Qin Muxiao called her dumb.

“Fine!” Qin Muxiao pouted as she averted her eyes from Tan Mo’s gaze and rolled them. “I just didn’t want Mufeng to take the long route. If you think it’s worth the trouble, then let him meet us here.”

“Of course it’s worth the trouble,” Tan Mo replied as Qin Muye called her brother. “Muye is everything to Uncle Mufeng. He wouldn’t even say a thing if Muye asked him to run around the resort.”

Since Qin Muye was talking to her brother next to Tan Mo, he could clearly hear the entire conversation between Tan Mo and Qin Muxiao.

Qin Mufeng’s eyes twitched when he heard that.

Wow! Thank you for not asking me to run around the resort! Qin Mufeng scolded her in his head.

“I’ll be there right away,” Qin Mufeng hung up the call and swiftly walked toward where his little sister was.

Despite how annoying what Tan Mo had said was, it made sense.

Even if Qin Mufeng had to run around the whole resort, he would never let Qin Muye be alone with Qin Muxiao.

It was true that there were only friends and family invited to the resort, but he could never tell what Qin Muxiao was planning.

Especially after hearing that Qin Muxiao wanted to have a friendly relationship with his sister, that she had grown up and had started to think of the whole family instead of herself, it only worried him even more.

He had watched Qin Muxiao grow ever since she had been a child. After all these years, even now when she was an adult, he knew that she would never become a person who would think about what was best for the family.

The only thing he would never underestimate about Qin Muxiao and Qin Murong was their stupidity.

If they had been like most people, they would know that if they wanted to have a decent life in the Qin family, the best course of action would be to get on Qin Muye’s good side.

However, the two sisters were too dumb to see that and had tried to bully Qin Muye from an early age.

It didn’t take long for Qin Mufeng to arrive where his sister was.

Tan Mo remained in the villa while Qin Muye and Qin Mufeng left with Qin Muxiao.

Not long after they had left, her doorbell rang.

She carefully checked the security system before opening the door.

After seeing that it was Wei Zhiqian, she let out a sigh of relief and opened the door for him.

“Qin Muxiao just left,” Tan Mo said and told Wei Zhiqian the whole story after he got inside. “The whole thing is just weird. She kept insisting that Muye had to follow her. I wonder if she has something up her sleeve. However, I think Muye will be fine since Uncle Mufeng is with her now.”

Wei Zhiqian was relieved to hear Tan Mo address his best friend as Uncle Mufeng.

It meant that Tan Mo viewed Qin Mufeng as of an older generation than her.

“Come here. I have something to show you,” Wei Zhiqian said as he pulled Tan Mo into the living room and turned the TV on.

He let Tan Mo sit down on the couch before switching the TV on with the remote.

Tan Mo looked at Wei Zhiqian curiously, wondering why he had dragged her to the living room to watch TV.

As she was still wondering, she was shocked to see the screen showing a living room.

Judging from the decoration of the room, it was from one of the villas in the hot springs resort.

“Did they plant hidden cameras in the villas?” Tan Mo exclaimed. “Who dares to do this?”

“I did,” Wei Zhiqian laughed and explained. “I had someone install the cameras in this unoccupied villa.”

He then switched the screen to another room. Tan Mo was surprised to find that the man had installed cameras in every room, including the entrance.

At last, Wei Zhiqian switched the screen to a grid view of all the cameras.

It was then that Tan Mo noticed the entrance door opening.

“Uncle! Someone’s entering the villa! You…you should turn it off!” Tan Mo said as she grabbed Wei Zhiqian’s arm.

It would be bad if someone found out that there were cameras in the room. Wei Zhiqian could get into some huge trouble for it.

“Calm down. Why don’t you take a look at who it is?” Wei Zhiqian calmly said.

Tan Mo shifted her attention back to the TV, and her mouth dropped wide open.

“Yuan Keqing? Why is she here?”
