Chapter 210
Wife by Day Boss by Night ( (Natalie and Brian )
Chapter 210
She carefully adjusted Brianâs tie and collar, stepping back with a nod of approval. âThere, all
set.â
Before she could move away, Brianâs arms encircled her waist, pulling her back against him swiftly and possessively.
He took it as an indication that Natalie was finally letting her guard down around him, and wasnât harbouring any resentment anymore. Their eyes met, and before Natalie could utter a word, Brian leaned in and kissed her lips gently.
Natalieâs lips went swollen when they parted, her breaths coming out in short gasps. âYouâre going to miss your flight,â she warned.
What Brian had given up for Natalie in his life was far more than just one business deal.
But he wouldnât push her if she wasnât ready to continue.
She was destined to be his, sooner or later.
After returning to the set in the evening, Natalie stepped out of a car belonging to the Morales family just as Miller was driving by. Doing a doubleâtake, he inspected the vehicle more closely in his rearâview mirror.
The license plate was as assertive as they came, a bold license plate number not the thing ordinary folks would dare to flaunt.
Even though Miller didnât recognize whose car was, it was enough to tell him it had significant
clout.
He quickly parked and caught up to Natalie, his voice soft with concern. âMy dear, wouldnât it be better to rest at the hotel or home for a few days?â
âRosie saidâ¦â Natalie began but paused.
âWhat Rosie says doesnât matter. Agents love to push their clients too hard. I get that!â Miller whispered back hastily.
âPlus, you know theyâve axed Arlen, and theyâre reshooting his scenes. A few days off wonât make a difference.â
Miller felt like he had bad luck this year. A production, one month in, two reshoots, and a schedule that was supposed to wrap in five months looked like it would take half a year.
Natalie had only been to the set twice recently and hadnât noticed Arlenâs absence until Miller mentioned it.
After a moment, she asked in a low voice, âWhat happened?â
Miller hemmed and hawed for a few seconds before confessing, âShouldnât you be more aware of the reason than us? Arlen took to social media to spill about you and Mr. Howard, and a few

days later, he was out of the production.â
It was as good as saying Brian had ordered the cast change.
Natalie had indeed seen the buzz on social media stirred up by Arlen.
But with the show featuring a large cast of women and excluding extras, there were at least a dozen young actresses, so no one mentioned her or Brian. Or any mention of Brian had been swiftly managed by public relations.
The internet had been abuzz for days about this drama that had got two main characters replaced so quickly. Everyone was curious about the mystery woman connected to the big shot behind the scenes.
Natalie wasnât bothered by it. After all, her domestic fame was barely a blip on the radar. She thought the incident would blow over and had no intention of holding a grudge against Arlen. She couldnât be bothered to get upset over such a man, but Brian had taken action against Arlen.
After exchanging a look with Miller, she said, âI had a few scenes with Arlen. If his parts are reshot, I need to be on set.â
Her absence would only fuel more speculation among the cast.
âAre you sure you can handle it?â Miller asked in a low voice.
âIâm not the lead and donât have many scenes. Whereâs the question of handling it or not?â Natalie couldnât help but laugh.
âWell, just a friendly reminder, youâll have some scenes at Heartland Collegeâs old building in a few days. Itâs the only centuryâold educational institution in Streamville with that classic architecture,â Miller continued, âIâm just worried the back and forth might wear you out.â
