So, Davis concocted an excuse to summon Brian back posthaste.

“I’m so sorry, Brian. It’s all my fault. It’s all on me!” Seeing Davis had been shouted into silence, Gracia cautiously stepped forward to mediate. “I shouldn’t have come today!”

“If you knew you shouldn’t have come, why did you?” Brian turned to her, and his voice heavy with reproach.

He remembered warning her explicitly that she was not to set foot in the Howard Manor without his permission!

“I… I…” Gracia stumbled over her words, uncertain of what to say.

No matter what she said, it would be wrong, and deep down, she knew Brian liked her meek and compliant.

Witnessing Brian’s attitude toward Gracia, Davis grew angry and stood up, declaring, “Gracia is a guest and a benefactor to the Howard family! Is this how you treat her?”

“I’d like to know what exactly Gracia has done wrong! Since the scandal hit the headlines, you’ve given her the cold shoulder. Why?”

“Why don’t you ask her and the Wright family what they’ve done!” Brian scoffed in response.

Davis turned to look at Gracia, who was looking down with tears brimming in her eyes. After a moment of silence, he said sternly, “All this for some fickle temptress! I’ve told you before. Nate doesn’t have a mother like that, and I will never allow them to reunite! Yet, you insist on defying me! In my eyes, Gracia hasn’t done anything wrong! Her fan’s reckless act of hitting Natalie with a car is just a fan’s overzealousness. You can’t place the blame for a fan’s blind action on Gracia’s shoulders! How is she at fault?

Besides, I didn’t press charges against Natalie for injuring Gracia, which is already the greatest act of mercy toward Natalie! How much more do you expect Gracia to give?
