Chapter 6
Mated To My Doom
So I wasn't going to update.. but then I read all your amazing comments! So here it is!
Recap:
"What are you doing?" I whispered.
"What mates do."
And just like that, his lips were on mine. This time, I couldn't resist.
I kissed him back with just as much fierceness, passion, and what I like to call love.
Though I doubt that's what it was for Hunter.
Kissing until we were breathless, neither of us wanted to stop.
And so we didn't.
The both of us too caught up in the moment, we didn't realize there was a new presence in the room until it was too late.
"Hunter!" The voice screamed out.

~But if you loved me
Why'd you leave me?
Chapter 6
"Hunter!" The voice screamed out.
"E-Emily?" Hunter pushed me away, and stood eyes wide.
So this was the infamous Emily. Her strawberry blonde hair suited her well, neatly hanging in open curls past her shoulder. Her blue eyes shined despite the lack of light in the room.
She was beautiful, no wonder Hunter chose her instead of me.
Just the thought of the two together made me nauseous.
Emily didn't reply. She didn't even react.
Her lips were tight together, her face expressionless.
Hunter said no more, but looking at his face I saw regret.
He regrets being with his mate.
Emily walked out.
Hunter ran after her.
And I just stood there; feeling empty.
I hate this. I hate the feeling of being ignored. Of being put last.
I hate Hunter for rejecting me, then acting like he wants me just to regret it.
I hate Greg for being all moody. One minute he's nice, and the next he's a jerk!
I hate Emily for being so perfect.
But most of all, I hate myself. For letting this happen.
I should have stopped Hunter from kissing me.
I should have never felt anything for Greg- even if it was just friendship.
I shouldn't let Emily affect me.
And I won't.
From now on, this is all over.
Taking out my phone, I dialed my moms number.
With my luck, I reached her voice mail.
I then dialed Jake's number. I still found his name so foreign with out the title 'Alpha' before it.
"Hey, Jake. Can you by any chance pick me up?"
Jake agreed, saying it was no trouble.
After minutes passed, his red Honda drove up.
"Get in." He smiled, opening the door for me from inside.
"Thanks."
He started to drive back towards my house.
"So Rose, I have something very important to ask you."
Now noticing it, Jake looked quite nervous.
"Of course, anything."
"D-do I have your permission to ask your mother out on a date?" Jake rushed it all out in a breath, like when someone rips out a bandage at once.
I started to laugh.
That's why he's so nervous? Because he wanted to date my mom and was afraid I'd say no? I mean, I kinda thought they were secretly dating this whole time.
"So.. is that a yes?"
I smiled, "Yes, Jake, that a yes."
"Okay good, phew." We both laughed.
"Anyways, your sister has been alittle lonely these past few days so maybe you should take her out to a movie or something? It'll be goof for the both of you."
Agreeing with his words, I've decided me and Soph will have a girls night tonight.
*Â Â Â Â Â *Â Â Â Â *
"All right, Kiddo. Any movie, it's up to you."
Soph looked up at the large selection of movie names. "Umm.. I wan't to watch that one." She said, pointing to the Horror.
"Annabelle," I said aloud. I remember hearing about the movie, how scary it is.
"You sure your not going to have nightmares?" I know I probably shouldn't be letting her watch such a scary movie, but Sophia has always loved Horrors. She even likes to play scary pranks on me, though it never works.
"Of course." She muttered snobby. "Are you sure you're not going to have nightmares?" She teased.
"You no what now that you mentioned it, I think I will. Why don't we pick another movie- like a romance!" I couldn't help but to chuckle at my own words.
Sophia hated romantic anything!
"NO! We're watching Annabelle, now lets go!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me towards the ticket sellers.
"Alright! Alright! Sheesh relax."
We both laughed, enjoying the sister bonding time.
2 Hours later
I was speechless.
"That was..."
"Amazing!" Sophia screamed, causing some eyes to turn our way.
"No, that was just messed up.Thank god mom threw out all our dolls years ago."
"Oh come on, that wasn't even scary," My sister bragged.
"There's something really wrong with you Soph."
"No there isn't" She muttered under her breath.
Walking towards the exits, darkness consumed the parking lot. Checking my phone, It's 9' o'clock. No wonder it's so dark.
"It's freezing." Sophia complained, wrapping her arms around herself.
"Well it's the middle of September, what did you expect? And I told you to wear a sweater."
"I told mom to pick us up from the front. Do you see her?"
"No."
Where on earth is my mother? She never forgets to pick us up.
"Rosalyn." A quiet voice spoke.
I barely even heard it if it weren't for my werewolf hearing strength.
Spinning around too fast, the wind flipped my hair In all directions.
"Emily?" I asked dumbfounded.
"Rosalyn, I really need to talk to you."
I wanted to correct her. Tell her that my name was Rose, but I didn't. She doesn't deserve to call me Rose.
"I'm sorry, can't talk now."
"It's important," She begged.
However, I still ignored her.
"I know you're Hunter's mate."
Gasping, I turned back towards her.
"Soph, go wait inside the movie theaters." I demanded.
"But Rose-"
"Now Sophia." I didn't look at my sister, but I heard the small taps of her shoes hitting the cement floor until finally they disappeared.
"Hunter told you?" I asked.
"Yes. But Rosalyn, I need to tell you something very important."
"What? That you and Hunter are in love? That I should back off? Or, wait, maybe your here to rub it in my face that your about to marry him, my own mate. No, no. But that would be to simple. Oh no, your pregnant aren't you?" My tone was vile and cruel and the worst part being that I didn't care.
"No, No and No!" Emily screamed out, sounding desperate now.
Little sprinkles of rain started to fall from the sky as the wind picked up. There was going to be a storm tonight.
"I don't love Hunter, Rosalyn! I don't love him!" she shouted, with each word, the storm getting worse.
"That's a lie," I sneered. You were going to marry him. Why would you marry someone you don't even love.
"He's a ruthless man, Rosalyn. Just because he acts like he cares for me now, doesn't mean he acted like that before. When he first saw me he thought I was his mate."
"That's impossible." I blinked rapidly, rain was getting in my eyes.
"I was already in love, and it's not with Hunter."
She paused, her face forming into pain.
"Hunter killed him. Hunter killed the only man I ever loved. Then, he took me captive and forced me to love him. He threatened my family, Rosalyn. He said he was going to kill them If I didn't act like a better 'mate'."
I didn't know what to say. Is Emily telling the truth?
I remember hearing stories about the Ruthless Alpha Hunter, but I was also told that he changed.
People often said, 'If you think he's scary now, you should have seen him before.'
"I knew I couldn't beat Hunter. So I had to play by his rules. After a while, I realized there were no escapes, I mean, even if I ran the price my family would pay... It's not worth it."
"I know you hate me because you think we're in love." Emily spoke loudly. Thunder erupted from the sky, and the both of us were drenched in water.
"But I hate him, Rosalyn. I hate Hunter. When you showed up, you don't understand how happy I got. But then I remembered what he did to me. I don't want that to happen to you. I don't know why Hunter thought I was his mate, but now that he met you, he knows I'm not."
"This morning when I saw you two kissing, I was so happy yet so sad. Rosalyn, do you want to be with him?"
Her question caught me by surprise.
The Hunter she just told me about, I don't want to be with him.
"H-He's my mate. I-I want to be with Hunter, but not the one you just described."
"He's not that bad, you know." He's worse.
"I mean, yes, he's a monster. He treats me like a Princess. I think.. that if he really was my mate, then things would have gone differently. Maybe I would  have given him an honest chance, but he killed the man I love, I could never forgive him."
I didn't speak, once again too speechless to say anything.
"So Rosalyn, I come here with a proposition. I'll leave your life- and Hunters. He's all yours. But I beg of you, you're a strong girl, fight for yourself. He won't hurt you. Change him. Make him better."
"What do you mean, you'd leave our lives?"
"I'm leaving. Leaving the pack. Going rouge."
'What! You'd rather go rouge then face Hunter!?" Why would anyone willingly go Rouge?
"I won't be alone. I have friends, and family. Long story short, I tried to escape once- along time ago. My family paid the consequence. They're all Rouge now and I really want to join them. I'm leaving tonight."
"Whoa, whoa, wait up. This is all going to fast."
"I know, I'm sorry, but I need to leave now." A roar of thunder echoes out making me jump.
"Wait! What if I don't want to be with Hunter?"
"Well then I wish you luck. But Rosalyn, you may not want to, but your wolf will. You and Hunter's wolf will always want each other."
The rain was getting harder and harder, pounding against my skull.
'Beep!'
The sound of a car honk made me jump yet again. Looking towards the parking lot, I saw my mom's black truck waiting.
"Okay, wait, we're not finished her-" Turning back to where Emily was standing, there was nothing there.
No Emily.
If it weren't for how loud the thunder was, I may have heard Emily's footsteps.
"Rose?" Sophia's voice brought me back to reality.
"Rose come on, moms here." She grabbed on to my arm, pushing me towards the truck.
Once inside the car, my mother took one look at me and sighed.
"Rose, how are you soaked and your sister dry?"
I didn't respond. I don't know how to feel, with everything Emily has told me, I don't know what to do.
I felt numb, though that may be because I was soaked from head to toe, and freezing cold.
"What did the girl say?" Sophia whispered. Mother was too distracted by the news to hear us.
"N-nothing." I shivered.
Is it true?" She asked again.
"What, Soph." I said irritably.
"She said you are Alpha Hunter's mate."
I didn't speak.
"So, is it true?"
"Of course not, Soph. That girl, she was a bully. She knew I had a crush on Alpha Hunter and likes to make fun of me for it." But that was a complete lie.
Emily was never the bully, she was the victim. She was forced under Hunters wrath. I feel very ashamed of the things I thought about Emily. Of how much I hated her. She doesn't deserve it.
All her loved once suffered because of Hunter's selfishness.
But I wasn't prepared to tell Soph everything, at least not yet.
When we reached my house, I thanked my mom and said good night to both her and my sister.
I silently went to my room and towards my closet. Taking out a large t-shirt and pajama pants, I changed quickly.
The bed was nicely made, not touched since a few days ago.
It felt good to finally be home.
About to lay down, I realized I hadn't brushed my teeth. Groaning, I made my way to the washroom.
"Rosalyn." I sickly sweet voice rang from behind the shower curtain.
I froze, toothbrush in hand.
"Rosalyn, won't you help me?" Sounded the voice again, rough and scratchy.
It's just Soph playing a joke.
Reaching towards the curtains, I pulled them all at once.
I knew it wasn't real, but that didn't stop the scream from escaping my mouth.
There, sitting on the edge of the bathtub was an old antique doll.
Seconds later, laughter rang from behind me.
"Y-You s-should have seen your f-face." Sophia laughed so hard that she started to hiccup.
Not in the mood for any of this, I ignored Sophia, put my toothbrush in it's place and started straight towards my bed.
Ahh nice and comfy. I snuggled into my blankets.
I was just about to doze of when little sprinkles of water sprayed on my face.
"What the!" Getting up as fast as I could, I realized that my window was wide open.
"Oh can't I just have peaceful moment?"
Getting up, I closed the window and went straight to bed.
* Â Â Â Â *Â Â Â Â *
There was a slight breeze whipping at my toes, startling me from my sleepy haze.
Another breeze swooped in, making goosebumps rise all over my body.
I remember clearly that I had closed the window.
Lazily, I pushed the thin blanket to the side and my arms to hoist myself up.
Darting my eyes towards the bright moonlight, I saw the window wide open. Sighing, I got up to close it.
How on earth did the window open? It was a cold day, maybe Sophia was pulling a prank on me. Using as much strength as someone who was half asleep could, I got the window closed.
I'll deal with Sophia later.
I began to go back to the bed. Without thinking, I threw my whole body onto the bed.
Feeling a shock of pain hit my back, I bit my tongue to stop my scream.
Oh, Sophie's getting it now.
Pushing my body up, I found a wrapped gift box.
The side was somewhat crushed from the impact of my body.
Now I was confused.
It was a square black box with a beautiful red bow at the top. Why would Soph leave me a gift?
Lifting the top off, I now become fully awake.
There was a card.
A very small white card.
Flipping the card to the other side,I gasped in horror.
This time, I didn't hold back my screams.
In dark red blood,
Dear my beloved Rose,
I'm watching you.
