Jing Yiran didn’t look menacing but it was just that Shangguan Ning didn’t like being stared at.

She wondered if she had just been silly in overthinking the situation, earlier?

Shangguan Ning was livid. She couldn’t believe that her family had wanted her to meet this man, even after knowing his real motive.

Shangguan Ning was still in shock but kept a calm exterior. “What you’ve done is illegal. If you don’t undo your mistake, my lawyers will get in touch with you. We’ll take you to court. You can expect a legal notice to reach you soon.”

Everything had suddenly become so obvious. This man hadn’t gone to such lengths and harmed her mother’s firm, just to chit chat with her. He wanted something more and now she knew what it was.

“Sure” said Jing Yiran sarcastically. “Speaking of following the law, let me tell you that I have a flawless contract. Even if there was a loophole, no lawyer or judge would dare to touch it, especially if you were filing a suit against me.”

Then he whispered in her ears. “My Beauty, don’t try to challenge my patience, otherwise I will have no choice but to make you suffer. You wouldn’t want that, would you ?”

Ning was nervous but somehow gathered the strength to fight. She bit his arm, that was suffocating her.

Jing Yiran let out an involuntary cry of pain. He screamed in anger, “How dare you bite me?”

Shangguan Ning could taste his blood on her teeth. She was disgusted by the taste of blood. She took the water glass from the table calmly, gargled and then spat the water into the dustbin.

“Even rabbits bite when forced. Besides, as you can see, I am not a rabbit!” Shangguan Ning wiped off the water at her lip’s corner and said as she stared at the handsome face.

“Now, tell me who you are or I’m done here.”

“You’re only the second person ever, to have hurt me like this. No one dare touch me, let alone hurt me in this way.”

The man in front of her was definitely not a random guy. She knew she had hurt someone powerful. He was wealthy and handsome, that was obvious. His outfit was custom made. His watch was a limited edition Patek Philippe, encrusted with diamonds.

What troubled her was that he knew a great deal about her, while she didn’t know anything apart from his contact details. She didn’t even know his name.

She once had a similar problem with Jing Yichen, but she wouldn’t make the same mistake again.

Jing Yiran didn’t bother answering her. Instead, he licked the blood off his wounded arm. He looked strangely attractive when he did this... like a wounded lion.

Jing Yiran came at her again. He grabbed her arms and pressed her against the wall. Shangguan Ning struggled furiously and yelled, “Let go of me, you maniac!”

“A rose with thorns. No wonder he wants to marry you. Great, I love roses with thorns too. What I love more though, is pulling those thorns off.” Jing Yiran’s eyes looked menacing.

Shangguan Ning didn’t dare show him how much pain she was. The only words that ran through her mind now were, ‘ No wonder he wants to marry you.’ Who was Jing Yiran referring to?

She asked, “How do you know Jing Yichen?!”

Jing Yiran was startled. He never thought Ning would be able to pull the cat out of the bag this easily. “Not bad. Not bad at all, for an eye candy like you to use her brains every once in a while. I’m impressed. You’re a rare case! Anyway, don’t mention any names. I don’t want to ruin my mood!”

Shangguan Ning struggled to get out of his hold but the more she fought him, the more he pressed himself against her.

Shangguan Ning’s face was really nervous now. Beads of sweat began to form on her forehead. She couldn’t do much except for digging her high heels into his foot. She did exactly that. She did that more than once.

Jing Yiran wasn’t immune to this pain but the fact that Ning was so fierce and fought him incessantly, turned him on far more than any pain he had ever felt.

He was even more excited now. It had been a long time since he ran into such fierce prey.
