Chapter 66 - Out of Hotels

Wang Lu, Xie Zhuojun’s mother, who had never ever been meted out this kind of treatment, refused to leave the matter at that.

She said in a relatively high pitched voice, “Yes, we want to complain! It is your responsibility for not having done the work earlier, yet you are driving us out. We wouldn’t let this matter go.”

It seemed like there was no way that they would leave.

This was the only five-star hotel that was ideally located in N City. It was situated by the beautiful seaside, and had comfortable sunbathing facilities as well. The other hotels were located very far away from this part of the city.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

The Front Office Manager wasn’t a woman who could be easily unnerved. She had been working at this hotel for five years and had met all kinds of people. She was alright with them making a complaint. It would also give her seniors an idea of what trouble the front office staff had been through, the entire morning. Maybe the front office manager may get awarded for meritorious service. She didn’t know who in the hierarchy had been offended by this group of six people. She assumed that whoever it was, must be someone very powerful, to have the power to have these guests thrown out. She thought to herself, that if she were able to make the right impression on someone this powerful, then her promotion was assured.

She maintained her professional attitude and said calmly, “You are welcome to make the complaints. Our management system is very transparent. However, if you continue to create a commotion in our lobby and disturb other guests, then I wouldn’t be so courteous anymore!”

Having said these words, she beckoned twelve security guards, dressed in black shirts and said nonchalantly, “These people are making a fuss here, please show them the way out.”

Having said these words, she walked away, strutting in her high heels.

When she ran into other guests in the hotel, she explained with a smile “We are sorry to have caused you any inconvenience on account of this group. Don’t worry, everything is under control now. Wish you all a happy stay here.”

Everyone glared mockingly at this lot of six people.

The twelve security guards were not as courteous as the Lobby Manager. Two security guards grabbed hold of each one of them and started to drag them out of the hotel premises.

Xie Zhuojun was fuming. He was being dragged by two security guards and everyone else was staring at them. He managed to get out of their strong hold and snapped, “I can walk by myself. No need to drag me.”

All six of them were distressed at being treated so disrespectfully.

Shangguan Rouxue’s face looked really pale. Her knees still hurt and she continued to lean on Xie Zhuojun’s arm. She couldn’t help but wonder if this was all somehow connected to the handsome man that they had run into the day before.

Everyone else had met him for the first time, but she had definitely seen him before.

The last time around, she remembered seeing him cushion Shangguan Ning’s head protectively, as she had gotten into his car.The luxurious sports car was something she’d never forget.

Xie Zhuojun had properties worth more than 100 million yuan, but he was reluctant to buy an Aston Martin. Instead, he was still driving the Land Rover which was worth around one million.

The man beside Shangguan Ning was apparently much more capable and powerful than Xie Zhuojun, especially since he was able to afford an Aston Martin.

Had they been driven out because of him... because they had offended Shangguan Ning?

Shangguan Rouxue shook her head and discarded the ridiculous idea from her brain.

She wasn’t sure if the man was in any way connected to the resort, but she was sure that Shangguan Ning wasn’t so charming that she would be capable of impressing such a person. She couldn’t even imagine a person of this calibre bending backwards to fulfill Shangguan Ning’s whims and fancies.

Shangguan Ning had been incapable of handling a softie like Xie Zhuojun, all those years ago. How would she be able to make a man that powerful to obey her?

Yang Wenshu didn’t want to spoil their festive spirit.

So she said cheerfully, “It is Chinese New Year! Let’s not allow the hotel to ruin our mood. Let’s just find another hotel and settle down. We can look into this matter later.”

She went up and gently held Shangguan Zheng’s arms and looked at him with expectant eyes.

Shangguan Zheng had no intention of traveling any further. He had never been interested in any sight-seeing anyway. Besides,he was a Deputy-Mayor in a government office.Taking so many days off for a holiday was a very sensitive matter.

He was due for re-election soon. Even if he had taken his family on his own expense, competitors would assume that he had utilised office funds for personal purposes.

He decided that he had had enough of travelling around and without bothering about Yang Wenshu’s expectation, he said. “No more travelling. Let’s go back home to A City!”

It would also be good for him to go and catch up with a few friends who were in powerful offices. That would better his chances of re-election.

Shangguan Ning, of course, had no idea of the quantum of trouble that had been caused to her step sister and her family. She finished breakfast and was in a good mood. She went sunbathing on the beach, hand in hand, with Jing Yichen.

Jing Yichen was lying on the deck chair with a pair of sunglasses on him, when his cell phone vibrated. It was a text message from the General Manager of the hotel –”President Sir, they have left.”

The content was brief but it made Jing Yichen smile.

Managing people like these, was a cakewalk for him.

Oh well, should he start to think about getting involved with air business, so that these people would not even have any planes to take on their next trip?

Shangguan Ning loved spending time soaking up the warm sun. She was not tired or lethargic anymore. She jovially said to Jing Yichen sitting next to her, “It is such a nice place. Feels like we are on our honeymoon, doesn’t it?”

Jing Yichen wrapped her hands in his and said in a matter-of-fact tone, “No, it can’t be counted as our honeymoon. When we are done with our wedding, I will take you for a world tour. That would be aptly counted as our honeymoon.”

Shangguan Ning had dreams of travelling the world with the man she loved. Every girl does. She hadn’t expected that the man would be Jing Yichen,

She smiled happily and said casually, “Weddings are just an excuse..a formality..it doesn’t matter if there isn’t any. But I do want a trip around the world.”

Jing Yichen’s handsome face mouthed the words, “Don’t worry, you will have both.”

In the meanwhile,Shangguan Zheng patiently waited to board his flight, in the waiting lounge of the N City airport.

The rest of his family weren’t willing to return to A City just yet. Instead, they wanted to spend several more days in this warm, splendid city.

Although he wasn’t so pleased that his wife wasn’t coming home with him, he gave in to her demands and permitted her to stay back and carry on with her holiday.

There was an hour to go before the flight took off. Shangguan Zheng was flipping pages of that day’s local newspaper.

The front page of the newspaper had a large article praising the Sky & Cloud Hotel.

Sky & Cloud Hotel was the same luxurious five-star property from which they had been driven out this morning. Since he was no longer as upset about the morning, he calmly continued to read the entire article.

Whilst reading it, one thing caught his attention – Sky & Cloud Hotel belonged to Jingsheng Enterprise. It was a subsidy of this powerful business entity.
