Chapter 299 - I Love Only You

It was a feeling which had both parts, selflessness and selfishness . They were selfless enough to sacrifice each other’s life whilst selfish enough to take the other side into their hands so that no one else was allowed to interfere.

No one could understand how heartbroken she had felt when she heard about Tang Yun being pregnant with Jing Yichen’s child.

That heart-breaking feeling engulfed her within one second because of which she couldn’t move at all.

Jing Yiran had asked her to come into the living room but she couldn’t, not because she didn’t want to, but because she didn’t have any strength to move her legs at that time.

Because she was using all her strength to control her brain to stay calm and rational.

It was not until she recovered her senses when she realised that Tang Yun couldn’t have possibly gotten pregnant with Jing Yichen’s child. It was then that she got the strength to forge ahead.

She wasn’t sure how much strength she had used to curse standing in the living room – she was scared that she would be told that Tang Yun’s child was really Jing Yichen’s.

She was oscillating between belief and suspicion and her rationality kept collapsing and returning. She lost her logical reasoning and said the worst things ever in the most vicious manner.

At this moment when Jing Yichen was sitting next to her and talking to her in a soothing manner, Shangguan Ning felt confused.

What happened sometime back seemed to be a nightmare so far-fetched, that she couldn’t wrap her head around it. She still had him besides her, close to her.

Jing Yichen felt his heart stinging with pain when he saw her looking like a little lost girl.

He took Shangguan Ning into his arms and held her palm sized, pale face between hands and said, “Ning, don’t, don’t scare me...”

“Please, Ning, don’t scare me...”

“It is my fault, all is my fault, please don’t be angry, alright? I promise that such a thing will never happen again...”

“Ning, please talk to me, please don’t ignore me...”

A tear leaked out of Shangguan Ning’s eyes and landed upon the back of his hand, piercing through his heart.

Soon, her tears started to drop like pearls off a thread.

Jing Yichen wiped off her tears, but soon more tears emerged. He just couldn’t get them to stop.

His eyes couldn’t take it anymore and he found himself at the edge of tears as well.

“Ning, sorry, baby, I am sorry that I have upset you...”

He said the words as he lowered his head to kiss her tears, the tip of her nose and her soft lips.

He held her body that was slightly trembling and gave his warmth to her, expressing his apology and guilt.

“Ning, I love you very much, so much that no one else can replace you in my life ever and no one can interfere in our love. You are my only one. Every time that you are hurt or upset, my heart goes through tremendous pain. I married you because I wanted to give you happiness and joy. If you are not happy, there would be no meaning to my existence...”

Shangguan Ning felt so bad that she burst into fresh tears at that moment.

Leaning in Jing Yichen’s arms and listening to his painful whispers, she felt really hurt as well.

She bit on Jing Yichen’s shoulder fiercely and could feel his blood on her tongue.

Jing Yichen stayed silent and still.

After venting her anger, she said tearfully in a hoarse voice, “I hate every woman around you and I hate it when you defend her. I hate it that she saved your life and I didn’t!”

Hearing what she said, Jing Yichen felt relieved. He patted her slender back gently and pampered her softly. “Okay, okay, you hate her. I have only you around me and there will be no one else. I will only defend you in the future, okay?”

Shangguan Ning cried for a very long time in his arms and Jing Yichen patiently waited till all her angst flowed out with it.

Seeing her swollen eyes, he felt his heart clog up with pain.

He kissed her cheeks softly. Taking one of her cold hands in his warm one, he drove straight back to Landscape Compound.

After they came home, he carried Shangguan Ning into the bathroom. He soaked the towel with warm water and then wiped her face with it.

Seeing him being so sweet and caring, Shangguan Ning started to cry once again.

Who else would be taken care of and pampered so well by him? He only belonged to her!

What was strange was that she who almost never shed tears, wasn’t being able to control her emotion in front of him at all.

Seeing her in tears again, Jing Yichen helped her wipe off the tears patiently. “Silly girl, don’t cry. Your tears are shattering my heart.”

He put the towel away and then picked up Shangguan Ning. He carried her into the bedroom and placed her on the bed. Then he laid down next to her and gathered her into his arms.

He lifted Shangguan Ning’s exquisite chin and whispered by her ears. “Baby, you must believe me, I don’t have anyone else in my heart apart from you. Don’t you know that I can’t touch anyone else except for you? I reject everyone who touches me and even end up vomiting. You are the only person whose touch brings me comfort.”

Nestled inside his arms, Shangguan Ning heard his warmth and love and her heart calmed down.

She was just about to ask him about the reason why he couldn’t touch others when she heard him speaking softly, “You know that it is impossible for me to fool around with any other women. Although Tang Yun saved my life, yet I have never thought about spending my life with her because of that. I am sure that someone has helped her with today’s incident. I sent her to the USA where she was protected and guarded day and night.”

“That she appeared at Family Jing today unexpectedly, wouldn’t have been possible for her alone. Even grandma noticed that something was wrong with her. She came because she wanted to get the miscarriage at the Family Jing’s residence.”

So Tang Yun had planned all of this?

And she showed up just to ruin her relationship with Jing Yichen?

How could she be cruel as not to care about her own child and use it as a bargaining chip!

Jing Yichen could feel Shangguan Ning’s emotions go up and down. He kissed her smooth forehead and said softly, “You don’t need to care about any of that. She has always been a vicious woman and I am well aware of that. She must have collaborated with Jing Yiran except that Jing Yiran didn’t help her in the end, because he knew that things didn’t go according to their plan.”

“They had planned for everything except for where our heart goes.”
