Having said the words, Shangguan Ning found Jing Yichen completely quiet. She looked at his face which seemed to have tightened in anger.

Jing Yichen couldn’t resist any more. A smile hovered on his handsome face as he said, “Didn’t you just ask me to shut up? Now you are asking me to talk again. So fickle!”

Shangguan Ning almost burst into laughter seeing his childish behaviour. She stretched her hand and patted his chest. “I am being serious, can’t you just answer me properly, please?”

Jing Yichen gently helped her button up her blouse as he said smilingly. “Oh, baby, are you worried about me? Half of my properties have been taken away and I am feeling sad. Can you console me? A part of me hurts a lot because of you. Are you so cruel as to let it hurt all the time?”

Shangguan Ning felt that if it continued like this, she would go crazy. She held one of his ears between her fingers. She softly pulled it and said, “Tell me now! Or I will make your ear become as long as those of rabbits!”

His ear didn’t even hurt because she was reluctant to pull it with force. Instead, her touch on it made his desire flare up even more.

He lowered his head and kissed her smooth forehead. Instead of joking with her, he said seriously, “Silly girl, don’t worry! How would I be able to handle this complex business empire if I can’t even deal with him!”

He purposefully avoided mentioning the reason why Jing Yiran had got half of the inheritance. Instead, he just told her that he will be able to handle the situation.

But Shangguan Ning wasn’t a dumb woman. The harder he tried to hide, the more suspicious it sounded.

“Then why was he able to get half of the inheritance? It used to be yours only, wasn’t it?” She hated Jing Yiran and as per her, the properties should belong to Jing Yichen, only. He had once said that he was the only heir of Family Jing. Then how did Jing Yiran suddenly become an heir as well?

Seeing his wife efforts at prying, Jing Yichen found it difficult to lie to her. So he patted her smooth hair and said softly, “Father once made few family rules and I broke a couple of them. I not only followed him but also tapped his phone. He found out about it and that was why father forced me to release half of the properties to him.”

Shangguan Ning stayed silent for a moment and asked softly, “You had tapped his phone because of me, right?”

After she had been taken away by Jing Yiran from the hospital last time, Jing Yichen installed GPS system in her phone and necklace so that he could trace her at all times.

Shangguan Ning didn’t want to taste the feeling of being at the brink of death again. So she had agreed to have herself trailed.

But now it seemed that he had tailed Jing Yiran as well.

He had been aware of the family rules but he still breached them. He had never tapped Jing Yiran before no matter how much they fought with each other. But he did it now.
