Chapter 3352
The First Heir
The owner of the voice pushed open the gaping door and walked in.
Seeing his appearance, Hiram covered his mouth and laughed in surprise. âA bamboo spirit!â
Its appearance was quite strange, its limbs were made up of thin or thick bamboo. Its eyebrows
seemed made up of two thin bamboo leaves, and only its facial features appeared human.
âShow some respect,â Philip said as he smothered a laugh and smacked Hiram.
âWeâre Philip Clarke and Hiram Pine. We didnât mean to trespass in your residence. Please forgive us,â
Philip continued.
The bamboo spirit waved its hand and said, âItâs okay. Itâs been so many years. Iâm glad to see another
humanâ¦â
The bamboo Spiritâs words seemed to possess a magical power that touched their souls.
âIâm the Bamboo Swordsmanâs bamboo sword spirit. You may call me Bamboo Shoot if youâd like.
Thatâs what the Bamboo Swordsman used to call me.â
Hearing that, the two tried hard to contain their amusement and said, âSure, Sir Bamboo Shoot.â
The sword spirit took out a bag of tea from the cabinet and said to the two, âSit down and have a cup of
tea.â
The two sat around the small wooden table in the middle. The moment the bag of tea was opened,
Philip and Hiramâs eyes lit up. The aroma was so rich, so the tea must be extraordinary.
Bamboo Shoot quickly brewed the tea and handed the teacups over. The two looked at the light green
water with a few pieces of tea leaves still floating on top. After the tea cooled down slightly, the two of
them took a sip and felt refreshed. Philip even felt a slight improvement in his mental strength.
Here, mental strength referred to the rules of insight.
âWhat do you think of the tea?â Bamboo Shoot asked the two with a smile.
âExcellent!â
Seeing the twoâs appreciation, Bamboo Shoot suddenly said sadly, âItâs a pity that the Bamboo
Swordsman canât drink it anymore.â
âAre you saying that the Bamboo Swordsmanâs remnant soul canât get in here?â Philip asked in
puzzlement.
âRemnant soul! Have you seen his remnant soul?â
Bamboo Shoot jumped up in surprise.
âI saw him in one of the secret rooms in the tunnels two days ago,â Philip replied.
âWhy didnât he come over, then?â Bamboo Shoot said sadly.
âMaybe his remnant soul canât get in,â Philip said as he took a sip of tea.
Bamboo Shoot shook its head and said, âNo, this place is accessible to humans, souls, and beasts
alikeâ¦â
Bamboo Shoot suddenly remembered something and said even more dejectedly, âMaybe itâs because
of that battle. I couldnât resist the enemyâs attack.â
Hearing this, Philip remembered the scene he had seen in the dark cave before. The Bamboo
Swordsmanâs bamboo sword was slowly destroyed by the enemyâs wild attacks until it lost all luster.
âIâve been recovering here since that battleâ¦â Bamboo Shoot paused and continued, âBut my injuries
wonât heal no matter what. Iâm probably useless now.â
Seeing Bamboo Shoot so depressed, Philip comforted it, âIf I see the Bamboo Swordsman again, Iâll try
to clarify the situation.â
âThanks for your help, then,â Bamboo Shoot said with a smile.
