Thirster 2467: 4.
Thirster 2467
Marilyn is guided inside Area 75 once again after the coffee shop. She wishes she stayed outside these grounds for a couple of more hours but the men wouldn't stop telling her how it's dangerous to be outside at night. That the creatures come out to hunt and feast on the blood of humans.
"If you guys give me a bit of freedom I wouldn't be such a bitch." Marilyn starts when Agent Doloman asked her what was her problem. Lee is standing behind her, his grip tightening on the back of the chair Marilyn is sitting on.
"Language please, I won't tolerate it." He responds, leaning back in his seat.
"I'm just saying, you took me here at a young age without knowing anyone or anything. So I think giving me some freedom will make it better." She slowly calms down because she doesn't want to show a bad reputation in Area 75. She doesn't want to be the bad person here.
"Marilyn I understand what you mean but what you said to Dr. Sammis and leaving without permission is not acceptable." Marilyn pries her eyes away from him and feels embarrassed. She stares down at her ripped jeans, running her fingers along them. "If you do something else like this I won't hesitate to take away your assignment of Thirster 2467."
"What?" She turns around to look at Lee then back to him. "Are you serious? You can't do that."
"If you are acting like a child then I will and I won't feel bad Marilyn. You did this to yourself."
"But Thirster 2467 is mine. I am assigned to him and the scientists are doing bad things to him." Agent Doloman leans over his desk, an eyebrow arching.
"Are you telling me you are defending a vampire?" Marilyn furrows her eyebrows while he chuckles. "I told you to be careful around him."
"No I'm not saying that. If you want answers from him, beating him to death or torturing him until he's crying isn't going to work. It will make it worst." Marilyn had a good reason but Agent Doloman wasn't going to stop the scientists from their work. For years this is how the scientists did it and he wasn't going to change it now because of a twenty-six year old.
So he just smiled, leaning back in his seat after wondering if she is defending a vampire. Especially Thirster 2467.
"Vampires don't cry, Marilyn." He pauses, looking up at Lee but she just looks away. "If you go against us Marilyn people will think you are siding with the vampires." Her mouth drops open.
"But I'm not! Look! You are putting things in your head and thinking I'm the bad guy!"
"No I'm not."
"Yes you are." Her voice shakes and her throat tightens into a knot. She has never felt so hurt because all these years, Agent Doloman always agreed with her.
"Just go or I will change my mind about the assignment. Just do your job and get him to talk." Marilyn slowly gets up but still stares at him.
"How can I if they won't let me."
"I don't know, I'm sick of listening to this bullshit. Find a way." He shoos her off with his hand while she rolls her eyes. Lee holds open the door and Marilyn walks out without waiting for her.
"If you want to get him to talk? I'll find my own fucking way." She mumbles to herself while walking down the hallway.
Marilyn and Lee make in into their rooms and Marilyn tells her she needs privacy after Lee called after her.
"It's not my fault Marilyn, I was worried about you." Lee follows her and Marilyn shakes her head.
"Really? Because the way you spoke to me on the phone didn't sound like it." She snaps back and Lee stops from chasing after her.
"I'm trying to be a guardian to you, a mother." Marilyn stops walking towards her bedroom too, staring at the ground.
"You are not my mother so don't try to be one. She died years ago and no one will replace her... especially you." Marilyn makes her way to her room, slamming her door shut and locking it.
Yes, Marilyn was six years old when her family died but it's not like she doesn't remember them. She remembers after school when her mother came at the bus stop and picked her up everyday. Or baking chocolate cookies with her in the kitchen at night before it was bedtime.
Tears fill her eyes while thinking about those memories. She tosses her boots against the wall after taking them off and takes her jacket off. The tears run down her cheeks but she has time to wipe them off.
'Vampires don't cry'
This is the theory of Agent Doloman. He thinks these creatures don't have any humanity and that they don't care about anything. All these years of being in Area 75 and torturing these vampires, he has never seen one cry.
They say it's a virus, vampirism. Because why would God or one create something so deadly? It's not right so in their research, they have it as a virus. And all these years they've been wondering what can treat them and make them become human again. But is that really true? Can vampires become human again? Can they cure vampirism?
Marilyn changes into pajamas, trying to get rid of bad thoughts that are running.
The next morning she past on to Lee that she doesn't want to go eat breakfast with her. Lee left without her and Marilyn was glad to have a bit of alone time. She got ready and put on leggings with a large t-shirt so no one says what she is wearing is inappropriate.
Marilyn's hunger didn't kick in yet so she decides to make a visit to Thirster 2467. Scientists are probably working so she won't be alone. When she makes it to the room, about four scientist, plus Dr. Sammis are around the box.
From far, she seems Thrister 2467 walking around the box in what seems like boredom. He's limping, his shirt ripped open from bullet holes and dried blood everywhere.
"Didn't get lost last night?" Marilyn turns her head to see that Dr. Sammis is standing right besides her.
"I don't get it." She says with a dark tone.
"You ran off to the city last night."
"Yeah but it's none of your business." Thirster 2467 turns around and spots Marilyn, his gaze towards her. Marilyn needs to speak to him so she gives him a smile with a slight wave. Dr. Sammis chuckles.
"Doing that to a vampire isn't going to work."
"Well everything starts with baby steps."
"Really, let me show you how you are suppose to do it." He says before walking away from her. Marilyn furrows her eyebrows while he walks to the scientists.
"Soldiers, fire." He shouts to the armed men behind Thirster 2467. They fire and when the bullets hit him, Marilyn's breath catches in her throat. Thirster 2467 collapses onto the ground and moans.
"Dr. Harris, go inside and put him to sleep." Dr. Harris nods, grabbing a large needle full with sleeping medicine. Dr. Sammis turns back to Marilyn. "We are going to show Marilyn here the right way of getting a vampire to talk."
Marilyn tries to tell him to stop they don't listen. She watches Dr. Harris make her way to the door and go inside the box. Thirster 2467 hears the door unlocking with various of locks. His vision is a blur but he knows he can do it. And he will.
Marilyn's eyes are glued onto Dr. Harris slowly making her way to the vampire who's on the ground. Her heart is thumping quickly and she feels nervous, sweat forming on the line of her forehead.
Suddenly, before Dr. Harris can even sink the needle into his skin, he quickly turns to face her. Thirster 2467 grabs her arm twisting it in a disgusting way of breaking her arm. Scientists shout of getting help and all. One of them even locked the door so the vampire doesn't escape. All man to themselves.
Dr. Harris screams in pain and before she can move away from him, he grips her chin and snaps her neck back, revealing her skin. His fangs elongate in his mouth before he bites down.
The scientists are telling the armed men to fire and shoot him but Dr. Sammis stops them. He seems a bit curious at what is happening, not realizing that someone like him is dying in the hands of a vampire.
Marilyn gasps when he bites down hard on her neck, blood running down her chest and back. The vampire seems so pleased at finally tasting blood. It's good and such a rush, it heals his wounds. He kneels down, the woman gasping for air but her breathing slowing down.
He brings his gaze up at Marilyn, biting down harder and making Marilyn so scared. The gaze he is giving her while feeding on a human is so sinister. So deadly. Blood drips down Dr. Harris, her body limbly hanging in the hands of Thirster 2467.
Scientists are sad that they lost someone that they have worked with for a very long time. Thirster 2467 finally becomes full and rips his teeth out of her skin, blood spraying across the glass windows. Marilyn flinches when it seemed like the blood was about to hit her but the window in front of her saves her.
Dr. Sammis makes the armed men go inside the box, all of their guns pointing at the vampire. The vampire's mouth and chin is dripping with blood, his gaze running along all the men circling him.
If he can, he has the energy to kill all of them and escape but from his hesitation, one of them stab him with the needle Dr. Harris was suppose to do to him.
His eyes blur and he collapses into the ground, feeling the men strap him down on the chair. They lock his arms with the extended chain on the chair and chain his ankles together.
Marilyn just watches in shock, her eyes wide.
Thirster 2467 slowly flutters his eyes closed.
