Chapter 17

Thirster 2467: 16.

Thirster 2467

Pierce turns his gaze to Marilyn as Marilyn rolls herself to look back at him. They stare at each other for a bit as Marilyn gasps for air. Her throat was raw and dry from screaming so much. The electric shock kept her shaking from the buzzing numbness radiating in her body.

"Just let her go." Pierce starts while groaning from the bullet in his back. He rolls onto his knees and tries to grab the bullet but he can't reach it. He growls and falls back onto the ground. "She did nothing to deserve to be in here."

"She did a lot to deserve to be in here." Dr. Sammis responds back, pressing the speaker button. "What's your name? You don't sound like you you're from here." Pierce narrows his eyes to him and bares his fangs with a hiss.

"Fuck off." Dr. Sammis turns the speaker off and turns to the other scientists. They have a conversation for a couple of seconds before nodding about something in agreement. Marilyn calls for Pierce before her door opens and two soldiers march towards her. She tries to crawl away but they grab her arms and carry her out of the box.

Pierce watches them take her around the room and to the door that takes them inside his box. They make sure the vampire doesn't escape as they toss Marilyn inside Pierce's box. Pierce rushes towards her while the soldiers lock the door. The scientists crowd around his window in curiosity.

"Marilyn." He whispers, kneeling down beside her body. He stops from trying to roll her onto her back, gazing at the dry blood on her hands. He knows that it's her blood, the sweet pure blood that he craves while being locked in here.

Pierce exhales loudly his upper jaw aching in anguish pain. His fangs itch for a taste to get the strength he craves for. That's the reason why they put her in here with him. Just so they can watch him try to resist the precious blood he needs to satisfy his hunger with. Marilyn slowly opens her eyes and looks up to Pierce who is trying to control himself. He digs his nails into his palms while trying to ignore his fangs prodding his bottom lip.

"Pierce." Marilyn snaps him out of his trance as he looks into her eyes.

"Take the bullet out please." He begs to her in a low whisper. Marilyn lifts her body off the ground and Pierce turns around. He stares at the window where the scientists are watching them. Marilyn's stomach turns sickly when she thinks of what she has to do.

She slowly sticks her fingers through his wound, getting blood onto her fingers. Pierce grits his teeth as she pitches roughly through his flesh and muscle. She finally feels a hard circular bullet between her fingers and grips on it. Marilyn pulls it out after struggling to when it was still getting stuck. It wasn't as easy as she thought it would be.

Marilyn tosses the bullet onto the ground and Pierce turns to her slowly. He grabs her cheeks and runs his cold hands along her warm skin. He stares into Marilyn's memorizing eyes, the different colors hypnotizing him.

"Trust me." He whispers after bending down to her ear. "Just trust me. Scream." He pulls away from her and Marilyn furrows her eyebrows. She wonders why he says that to her until he pulls his head towards her neck. Marilyn gasps when he cups his mouth over her skin but she doesn't feel his teeth.

No fangs. No skin tearing. No blood.

She just feels regular teeth nibbling on her skin softly. Pierce growls and pulls her closer to his body and pinches the skin of her waist. It kicks in Marilyn's head when she realizes what he meant when he said to scream.

Marilyn screams as loud as she can and tries to fight off Pierce. Pierce holds onto her while Marilyn pretends to be losing blood. The scientists watch them but suddenly they start to argue. They argue that he's going to kill her and they don't want her dead. Dr. Sammis doesn't care whether she lives or not but the other scientists think it's cruel if they let her die.

They order one of the soldiers to go in and stop him. He follows their command and opens the door, locking it behind him. Pierce knows that he's coming and a smile runs across his lips that are still pressed on Marilyn's warm neck.

When the soldier goes to reach him, Pierce throws Marilyn away from him and she collapses onto the ground. Pierce quickly grabs the soldiers gun and nails the butt of the gun into his face. The soldier loses balance but before he can fall Pierce grabs a fist full of his uniform. The scientists are startled when they realize it was a trick. They see Marilyn get up slowly with no wound on her neck... no blood.

Before Pierce can rip him into shreds another soldier opens the top to shoot him down but Pierce senses it. He flips the soldier to face the other soldier firing the bullets and they hit the soldier resting on Pierce. Pierce is still clenching the gun in one hand and pulls the trigger multiple of times to the soldier in the top corner.

Some bullets hit the wall roughly around the little opening but eventually it hits the soldier right in the head. From the intensity of getting shot in the head and still clenching the trigger, free bullets fly around the room. Marilyn quickly goes back down onto the ground so she doesn't get shot and covers her head. Pierce dodges them with his vampire speed and one hits the bullet proof window.

The thick glass cracks uncontrollably around the bullet but doesn't shatter. The dead soldier falls backwards and hits the ground with a splat outside of the box. Pierce doesn't hesitate to bury his fangs into the soldiers carotid artery when his fangs lengthen. Blood spews out of the solders neck and sprays across Marilyn's face when she looks up.

She gasps in shock as the soldier is trying to fight with every urge. Pierce holds him tightly, smothering his mouth so no screams escape. The scientists mouths are all dropping in shock at what they're seeing. Dr. Sammis grows furious because he's the only one who wants both of them dead. No one else does.

The soldier slowly grows weak and stops moving. Pierce aggressively rips his teeth out of his neck, flesh tearing apart. He stands there for a while with deep dark blood running down his smooth chin and down to his neck. The blood that remains on his lips make them stand out from his pale skin.

The vampire slowly turns to the window where all the scientists are staring at him with gaping mouths. All these years of living here and watching vampires Marilyn has never seen one kill so many. Pierce is dark and somewhat intelligent. He knows what to do to get things and for some reason Marilyn loves how clever he is.

The scientists remain still and Pierce gruesomely smiles with blood still spewing out of his mouth from the corners. He slowly approaches the cracked window and stands there, staring at all the scientists.

"My name is Pierce Vasiliev." He bluntly says while wiping his mouth with his arm. Blood smudges his porcelain skin and stains his arm. "It's a pleasure to meet my kidnappers." Marilyn stands back up and cowers behind him in fear. Mostly in fear if Dr. Sammis is going to shock her again. One of the scientists sitting in front of the table board that has all the buttons presses the speaker button to talk.

There's silence through the speaker because none of them know what to say. Marilyn can't help but crack a smile because of how shut down they feel. Dr. Sammis moves the scientist away with a rough shove and leans to the microphone.

"How did you learn to shoot so well with a gun?" He growls and Pierce turns back to the soldier's body that he drained. His body is still and cold, the remaining of his blood oozing out of his wound.

"War my friend. Something I fought in many many years ago." Pierce looks down at his hands and moves his fingers freely around. "I guess my techniques of using one never left."

"What war? What year did you turn in! Who turned you, you bloodthirsty motherfucker!" Dr. Sammis screams because he's furious. He's ticked off from the way Pierce is sounding so witted and fresh around him. As if nothing is able to kill him and that he's unstoppable.

"Shame on you, you should show manners on how to talk to people."

"You aren't a person. You are a fucking demon from Hell."

"Well if I wasn't a person than I wouldn't be walking on this Earth, now would I?" Dr. Sammis shouts with fury as he walks away from the speaker and walks out of the room. Another scientist goes to the speaker and sighs.

"Will you be able to tell us your story?" She kindly asks and Pierce purses his lips into a thin line.

"Nah I'm actually tired of talking to you guys."

"Come'on-"

"Not unless you guys let Marilyn go." She chuckles nervously and Pierce turns to Marilyn. They stare at each other for a while until he looks away again.

"We unfortunately can't do that, Thirster 2467."

"Pierce, it's Pierce." He growls and she sighs. "Fine then this is how the game is going to be played. If you guys don't let her out you won't get answers." He walks away from staring at them through the window and sits on the chair in the middle of the box.

He quietly sits there with his arms crossed over his chest and the scientist let goes of the speaker button. Marilyn watches them all argue but she can't really understand what they're saying.

They all slowly leave the room one by one in defeat from the vampire sitting on the chair silently. Marilyn inches her way to Pierce and places her hand on his shoulder softly. She smiles down at him when he looks up at her. Pierce can't help but smile back crookedly. Soon their trust for each other was gained once again.
