Just like the first time the True Dawn Army appeared, they suddenly found their comrades falling one after the other with various injuries. Instantly, they realized the race of demi-cats had returned. They quickly formed a defensive formation, standing back-to-back and reinforcing the agreed defensive structures. But today's attack was unlike those before.
"They're lying! It's impossible that General Elizabeth was killed by those wretched locals!!" one of the officers under Elizabeth shouted angrily, his eyes brimming with tears. This man, a member of the Trent family, had been extremely close to Elizabeth, even back when she was the Empress of the Sacred Tree.
"Damn it, James, snap out of it and focus on the battle at hand!!" another officer shouted, his frustration evident.
Today's wave was different for two reasons. The first was that a massive woman had appeared and announced General Elizabeth's death. Some believed her, while others didn't. Regardless, it caused chaos among the ranks. The second reason was the sheer number of attackers- several times more than any previous assault.
Although they couldn't see all the attackers due to their stealth tactics, by estimating the number of casualties and the areas being attacked simultaneously, there had to be at least a thousand of them!
"Hahaha!" The big woman, Jata, smashed a soldier's head with her war hammer. BAM! She then proclaimed loudly, "A bunch of fools trying to take over our planet? You'll all die, just as we killed your general and severed her head!" She then darted toward the forest.
"Stop!!" the man called James yelled, trying to run after Jata. "Come with me!"
"My team, follow me! We're heading to the gate!"
"Wait, I need you here! We won't hold out on our own!"
"Shut up. I must find the general. Even if it's just her body, I must bring her back!!"
"..." From the shadows of the forest, Jata chuckled darkly. Seeing nearly seven officers issuing conflicting orders, each commanding independently, was precisely what she wanted. She scanned the soldiers, and her grin widened.
"Hmm?" Jata furrowed her thick brows. "...This might turn to be a little bad."
Who is that Excellency who made the soldiers forget their dire position and the death of their general, and raised their morale to this peak even in his absence? When the grandmother died all those years ago, they didn't have anyone who could gather the race around him and this made them split and go through centuries of suffering.
And after Zanox's disappearance, his soldiers couldn't use his words to bring them together, they start paniking and every oficer started excuting what he sees fit, despite Marsial Zanox supposedly being still alive and only gone to war on another planet!
