Chapter 33
Love’s Cunning Ruse ( Mr.Kieran And Julie )
Chapter 33
âJust wonât take a hint, would he?â That was the perfect description for Elliot.
Every time Julie saw Elliot, her first instinct was to cover her face and bolt.
But with Elliotâs long legs, he easily caught up to Julie and grabbed her wrist to prevent her from running off.
âElliotâ¦â
âJulie, come home with me for a bit. Elliot insisted, holding onto Julie as if sheâd vanish into thin air like the last few times if he let go.
So he didnât beat around the bush and got straight to the point with Julie.
Julie looked at Elliot for a few seconds before asking. âWhy should I go home with you?â
âMy family thinks youâre my fiancée. Although itâs not official, the rumor is out. At least have dinner with me?â Elliotâs tone was gentle, with a hint of pleading and appeasement.
Julie replied coolly, âNo.â
Elliot knew Julie was hard to pursue, but her stubbornness still surprised him. âIs being my girlfriend that bad?â He asked, feeling somewhat helpless.
âI wouldnât know; Iâve never been your girlfriend. Julie looked at the arm Elliot was holding onto, her voice soft as she said. âLet goâ
Elliot, feeling desperate, pulled out his last resort. âCome home with me for dinner. Even if itâs just to explain to my grandfather that weâre not dating. Or I could pay you?â
Julieâs face turned cold after he said that, her gaze clear and defiant. âElliot, has your life always been smooth sailing? You were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, and you got everything you ever wanted. Do you think money can do everything? That it can buy peopleâs lives, their dignity, and their love?â
Julie forcefully shook off Elliotâs grip and walked away without a word.
Two hours later at the Sanches Mansion.
Julie stepped out of Elliotâs white Jaguar with a calm expression.
Money couldnât do everything. It couldnât necessarily buy peopleâs lives, their dignity, or their love. But it could buy time. Time for Sansa.
Nearly all the Sanches family was present tonight..
Elliot had a twin sister named Adeline Sanches, whom Julie was meeting for the first time. Adeline was currently lounging on a couch, painting her nails. She looked nothing like Elliot, appearing much softer in comparison.
Due to the incident at the last dance, Elliotâs grandfather, Raymon, already had a negative impression of Julie. Naturally, Elliotâs parents also had reservations about her.
Raymon sat in the middle of the couch, with Elliotâs father, Walker Sanches, on his left. Walkerâs wife, Victoria, was next to him, and Adeline sat beside Victoria, still painting her nails.
Victoria looked at Julie, who was sitting across from them, and asked in a cold, straightforward tone, âMs. Abraham, you are aware of Elliotâs status, arenât you? Forgive my bluntness, but do you think youâre suitable for Elliot?â
âMom!â Elliotâs face hardened immediately.
Julie, however, just smirked and said, âActually, I think Mr. Sanches and I are quite suitable.â
âJulie?â Elliot admitted that he was shocked by Julieâs words. He thought she was here to make a scene, but he didnât expect her to say something like
that.
