âIâm all right. I think Iâm a little down on oxygen after the kiss,â Huo Yunshen explained.
âDonât lie to me! Tell me! This has been happening quite a lot lately, hasnât it?â
Jing Xi had been noticing her husband would sometimes stumble suddenly.
âI donât really know what is happening either. Sometimes itâs like everything will go black for a second for me.â
âCould it be anemia?â
âIâm not sure.â
âWe should go to the hospital, just in case,â Jing Xi said and pushed Huo Yunshen out to their car. âIâll go with you.â
They sat in the back seat while their driver, Mo An, drove them to the hospital.
Gu Yici was shocked when both Huo Yunshen and Jing Xi came into his office.
âWhatâs wrong? Coming here together,â Gu Yici said.
âTell him whatâs been happening,â Jing Xi said.
âIs something bothering you?â Gu Yici turned to ask Huo Yunshen.
âI think something is wrong with my eyes. I blackout for a few seconds sometimes.â Huo Yunshen explained his symptoms.
Gu Yici checked with Huo Yunshenâs body but couldnât find anything right away. Remembering that Huo Yunshen had brain surgery recently, Gu Yici recommended that he retake a CT scan.
Jing Xi accompanied Huo Yunshen to take the scan.
When the report came out, Jing Xi quickly took a look at it, but it was all in English, and Jing Xi could barely understand it.
But based on Jing Xiâs medical knowledge, it seemed to her that something was wrong with Huo Yunshenâs central nervous system.
Gu Yici took a look at the report and said, âThe wound is closing up perfectly, but thereâs a shadow near his central nervous system. I suspect it might be extravasated blood. If my suspicion is true and if that clot is pressing against the central nervous system, it will cause CNSL.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âWhatâs CNSL?â
âIt means Central Nervous System Luekemia.â
âLeukemia?â Jing Xi panicked. âWhat should we do?â
She couldnât believe that they would be burdened with another problem just days after their happy lives had begun.
Huo Yunshen was also shocked by the news, but what worried him the most was Jing Xi. He was afraid that it might be a burden to her emotions.
If heâd known that it was leukemia, he wouldâve never brought her to the hospital with him.
âDonât worry, it might not be as bad as it sounds.â Huo Yunshen quickly comforted his wife.
âWhat do you mean, ânot bad as it sounds?â Itâs leukemia! It wouldnât be this bad if you had come to the hospital sooner!â Jing Xi scolded and turned to Gu Yici. âWill he be okay if we take the clot out?â
Huo Yunshen had a feeling that the condition wasnât as simple as it seemed. He quickly gave Gu Yici a look, telling him to not say too much in front of Jing Xi.
But Gu Yici was too focused on the report and didnât notice Huo Yunshenâs signal.
âItâs not that simple. We have to control his leukemia first before we can remove the clot. I can see two possible risks here.â
âHow big are the risks?â
