Chapter 89

Running Into You

The years continued marching on. Before they knew it, Evelyn was starting kindergarten and was thrilled to be in her aunt Makayla’s class.

She was the only one of Maggie’s children that could handle being with Makayla. The boys tried to use their relationship to their advantage and get away with murder.

Maggie took over as principal that same year and wanted to maintain the good reputation of the school.

Evelyn had Liam’s brain capacity, and that meant that all of Liam and Maggie’s children were unbelievably smart. It was so difficult to make sure they were challenged at an age-appropriate level.

Maggie was constantly looking for good martial to fill their time and brains.

Patrick’s obsession with all things English continued. He diligently watched soccer and rugby on TV as well as playing them.

Somehow, he convinced Maggie and Liam to let him attend Eton when he was thirteen years old. The Olsen family had friends close by and they kept an eye on him.

Liam had a private jet on standby just in case. It just about killed Maggie as the plane took off to go back to Florida.

Maggie texted him all the time until he explained that he was okay and that she shouldn’t worry. Maggie cried, and Liam just held her.

Isaac was just as smart but loved all things American. He played baseball and loved to paddleboard in the ocean. He enjoyed middle school and had lots of friends.

Isaac had no interest in going to England except on vacations. He knew where his home was.

The twins were also brilliant, except being identical made them that much more dangerous. They loved to play jokes and create chaos in the house.

Tonya always said they were going to give her gray hair early. They played football and loved everything about being on a team.

Their coach thought they had immense promise, and they always gave it their all when training.

Evie was loved and adored by each of her brothers, and no other male had a chance in hell if they hurt her in any way. Liam didn’t even have to threaten anyone; his sons took control of the situation.

She was just as beautiful as her mother and had a huge heart. She was quick to laugh and smile, and her hugs were plentiful.

But as sweet as she was, she knew exactly how to play Liam and her brothers. And Liam gave in every time he heard, “But, Daddy…”

Liam was putty in her hands when she would hug and kiss him and say, “I love you, Daddy!”

Maggie just shook her head and let him reap what he sowed, although she still was a good girl, with an exceptional brain and talent on the softball field; the best of both of her parents.

Maggie and Liam were so proud of each of their children as they grew up and made choices in their lives.

Patrick finished Eton and followed that up with a law degree from Cambridge.

He stayed in England, much to Maggie’s dismay, and went to work at the most prestigious firm in London, the top rival of the firm that the rest of the family worked for.

Isaac went to his father’s alma mater, Yale, for his undergraduate studies, then proceeded to Stanford for medical school and was well on his way to becoming a cardiologist.

He also was first in his class, like his dad, and was on his way to being first in medical school at Stanford. He loved California and Maggie knew he would stay out there if he could.

Noah and Trevor were a force on and off the football field. Noah was the starting quarterback in high school and college, with his favorite target being Trevor at wide receiver.

They ruled college football and were drafted very high in the first round, but to different teams, which made them sad, but they knew it was part of the business.

Liam and Maggie knew it would be difficult for them when they weren’t on the same team.

News outlets were speculating how they would do, and then everything was blown out of the water when a huge trade was made by Noah’s team for Trevor, giving up the rest of their picks for the draft.

It rocked the room and Maggie, and Liam didn’t know what to make of any of it.

They had made the most of their college time too, each earning an MBA and making very sound investments right out of the gate to have backup plans for when football was over.

Maggie was just so proud, and Liam bought season tickets in a suite for everyone in the family to go up to see them.

And sweet Evie stayed closer to home and went to Georgetown to study accounting. Liam loved that she was so close, as he could make sure that no one messed with his baby girl.

She was well on her way to a promising career. Evie loved the attention from the boys in college but was careful not to get too involved.

Plus, as soon as men found out that her two brothers were in the NFL and saw the pictures of all the other men in her family, they would tread lightly.

The house was quiet with all the children off to various points in the world. But at least once a day, Liam reminded Maggie of how much fun it was to have the house to themselves.

They never tired of each other and were more in love than when they first met.
