Chapter 70
Running Into You
Maggie was panicking as she packed a suitcase for Patrick. Liam had a meeting in California, and Maggie and Patrick would be going with him for five days.
This would be Patrickâs first flight, and she was petrified, imagining a social media horror story with people posting videos of a screaming child as Maggie punched a bitchy woman for making comments.
Liam promised it would go smoothly as it was during his afternoon nap time. She had a diaper bag full of supplies and prayed he was right. She knew she would get no sleep that night.
Earlier that day, Maggie had visited the hospital and met Nick and Hannahâs little boy, Xavier.
He was adorable, and Patrick seemed interested in him. She hoped that they would be good friends as they grew older.
Maggie smiled at the memory as she put another outfit for Patrick in the diaper bag.
She saw him, cooing and moving his arms and legs through the baby monitor, watching the mobile above his little head, grinning at the sight. She loved watching her son learn new things.
The first day he smiled, she thought her heart would burst from pride, love, and happiness. She loved everything he did and couldnât wait for more.
She let him continue to play as she put the last of her shirts in the suitcase and zipped it closed. Maggie had never been to California and was excited to see the Pacific Ocean with her family.
She put her suitcase by the door and went to get her son for some dinner. She had pasta and eggplant parmesan in the oven and a salad already cut.
She set Patrick in his high chair, pulled a bib over his head, and sang to him as she made his rice cereal with a little bit of banana puree.
Patrickâs appetite had increased by leaps and bounds, and Maggie was sad when she couldnât keep nursing him.
Liam loved that he could give him bottles, and he even started a little nighttime ritual with a bottle, a song, and a book. Maggie loved watching them together.
Maggie fed Patrick as she smiled and gurgled, making a mess as the cereal disappeared. She cleaned him up just as Liam came home.
He kissed his wife passionately and snagged his son, taking him upstairs to spend some time together while he got changed.
They came down fifteen minutes later and ate dinner. Afterward, Maggie and Liam bathed the baby and put him to bed together. They lay cuddled together, ready for the next dayâs trip.
Maggie was shocked when they landed in LA, and Patrick hadnât shed a single tear.
He slept in Liamâs arms most of the flight, and when he was awake, he smiled and cooed to everyone that walked by. He was a perfect traveler and sat in his stroller as they moved through the airport.
âI am utterly speechless, Liam!â
âWell, he is perfect just like me!â
Maggie rolled her eyes and smacked his shoulder as he laughed.
âI told you he would have been fine! He is a good-natured baby, and I knew he would sleep most of the flight. Just trust me, darling.â
She kissed him and followed him to the rental car garage, helping to load the bags in the back of the high-end SUV.
Having been to LA at least a dozen times, Liam navigated the traffic, pulled into the valet station of the five-star hotel, and let the bellman do the heavy lifting as he checked them into their suite.
Thinking of everything, Liam had the staff set up a crib, which was waiting for them in the second sitting area. They fed the baby and went to do some sightseeing outside.
The following day, they went to the zoo, letting Patrick see all the animals. His eyes were as big as saucers as he looked around the whole day at all the new sights before him.
They knew that Patrick was done for the day when he started sucking his thumb and reaching for his stuffed bear.
He loved the stuffed bear dressed as a palace guard that Maggie had bought about two months ago and just had to have it to sleep.
Noticing the huge attachment he had to the bear, Liam had a friend back in England ship them four other bears, so they had backups, just in case.
Liam went to his meeting the second day while Maggie and Patrick went to parks and stores, enjoying the day. Liam was back just in time for dinner, and they ate on the patio of the hotel at sunset.
Liam had meetings the next day, and then they had a beach day planned for their last day, so Liam was careful not to fall behind in his work.
After they put their son to bed, Liam went to the couch and started reading case briefs.
Maggie went and quickly showered, then slipped on the pale gray sheer nightgown she had bought especially for this trip. She brushed her hair until it fell in soft waves.
Having Patrick had changed Maggieâs body for the better, she felt. Her hips had softened and fit her body perfectly. Her boobs were still large and looked just as good as they did before.
She had been working out with the team and she was well toned because of it. Liam had told her she was even more beautiful than ever, and Maggie felt it.
She walked out of the bathroom quietly and crept up behind Liam. He was engrossed in the brief and didnât hear her. She smiled and cleared her throat.
Liam looked up with a furrowed brow. When his eyes settled on his wife, they went wide as he took in her form.
The perfect shade of pale gray, the deep plunge of the neckline that barely contained her full breasts, the long slit that went up to her waist, her brilliant red hair, shining and soft down her back.
His throat immediately went as dry as sandpaper. He swallowed several times as she crossed the room and straddled his lap.
âNew outfit, darling?â
âGot it special for tonight, babe. Do you like it?â she asked innocently.
He growled as he pulled her in for a deep kiss and wound his fingers in her hair.
She pulled back and smirked at him, breathing heavily. âIs that a âyesâ?â
He grinned as he ground himself against her, letting her feel how aroused he was. She pulled him back in for a kiss, grinning as she did.
They kissed heavily until he couldnât take it anymore and looked from her eyes to her breasts. He kissed between them, loving the scent of her lotion as he did.
He moved the lace aside and rolled her nipples between his fingers, making her moan. Smiling, he pulled the right one into his mouth and tortured her with his tongue and teeth.
Maggie ran her fingers in his hair as he brought her to delirium. He moved the other and continued his work.
Maggie was grinding away at him as he licked and sucked at her. Liam took his hand and touched her core, finding her already wet.
âDarling, you seem to be making a mess! Are you a little wet?â
âYou make me so wet, babe!â
Liam kissed her again, stood up, somehow unbuttoned his shorts, and pushed them down. He sat them back on the couch and lifted her gown over her head, throwing it on the floor.
They both took a deep breath as he repositioned her and slid right into her wet heat. They kissed passionately as he moved her up and down, bringing them to a beautiful finish together.
Maggie wiped a tear from her eye. âI love you, Liam.â
âI love you too, Maggie. You are the only one for me, forever.â
He carried her to the bedroom before checking on Patrick and picking up his papers from the floor. He smiled as he put them in his briefcase, knowing he would never forget this night.
Not because of his photographic memory, but because it was etched in his heart, just as she had so many other memories. He wouldnât have it any other way.
He went back to the bedroom of their suite and crawled back in bed with her to start round two of their evening.
