Chapter 57

The day of their wedding arrived, and Maggie was walking on cloud nine. Liam had already left to stay at the hotel and watch over the setup.

All the ladies were getting ready at the house and would arrive by limo for the ceremony. Liam took their luggage with him, so they were ready to leave early Sunday for their honeymoon.

Liam had finally told Maggie where they were going, and she was beyond excited to spend ten days in the Greek Islands before heading to England for a week to visit the UK.

All their destinations were places Maggie had only dreamed of going and couldn’t believe she was actually going to be there!

Liam promised somewhere tropical for their first anniversary when she wasn’t pregnant and could drink her fill of rum!

Joan and Beth made all the ladies a charming brunch as they laughed and giggled the day away. They ate, lounged by the pool, and napped, getting ready for the long night.

The makeup, nail, and hair people arrived at about two to start on the large group. Maggie took a long soothing bath as they started on the other ladies.

When she was sufficiently wrinkled and rested, she came out in her favorite robe and a sweet young lady named Bella started on her mani-pedi.

Maggie went with a simple French manicure on her fingers and a silver sparkle on her toes.

Liam had hinted that he wanted her hair down, so Maggie went with an intricate braid on the top of half of her head where the veil would sit perfectly and the rest of her hair hanging down in soft curls.

Maggie had almost fallen asleep at Derek’s magic fingers, but when she heard him whisper that he was done, she gasped as she saw how beautiful and sexy her hair looked.

She loved it and squealed as she hugged him, thanking him profusely.

All the ladies agreed that it was perfect. Sonja, the makeup artist, gave Maggie a natural look that complimented her hair.

Sheila summed it up by saying, “Maggie, you look spectacular and sexy! It is safe to say that Liam will be picking his jaw up from the floor!”

Beth came up and hugged her soon-to-be daughter-in-law, “Sweetheart you are perfect! Charlie and I are so proud to have you as part of our family. I love you!”

Fighting back tears, Maggie just hugged her for several minutes before she let go and went to put on her dress and touch up her makeup.

Makayla and Sheila helped her step into the dress and fasten the buttons. She turned around to look at herself in the large mirror Derek had brought and was stunned at her appearance.

Her hair was set off by the white and sparkles of the dress and the veil. The dress was breathtaking. It fit her body perfectly and highlighted her large, firm breasts.

Her hips and small baby bump looked perfectly at home as she stood there and turned to look at herself from different angles.

Makayla was tearing up as she saw her best friend and their new friends all watching as Maggie’s dreams were coming true.

Liza and Bethany came up and handed her something blue in the form of her garter, slipping it over her leg after she put on the expensive shoes she bought.

Makayla handed over her grandmother’s pearl necklace and clipped it on her, whispering, “Your something old and filled with love!”

Hannah and Sheila brought over another gift. “This is from your over-the-top fiancé. He thought you should have these as your something new.”

Maggie took the small square velvet box, opened it, and gasped at the stunning teardrop diamond and pearl earrings.

“How did he know that these would go with my dress?” Maggie asked in awe.

“I went with him last week, sweetie,” Joan said as she took the empty box and put it on the dresser as Maggie put them on.

Finally, Elizabeth came forward with a silk-wrapped package.

“I have your something borrowed. I wore this for my wedding, as did Bethany, Liza, my mother, and my grandmother. My granddaughters will hopefully wear it too.”

Beth unwrapped a beautiful and delicate diamond hairpin. She tucked it in the braid of Maggie’s hair, and it fit perfectly.

“I love it. Thank you so much! This means so much…” Maggie struggled to hold back tears.

Beth hugged her and then everyone got in on a group hug before Derek clapped.

“Ladies, let’s get this wedding started! I promised Erica you would be there in fifteen minutes or face her wrath. And I make it a point to never piss off Erica! She can be scary!”

The ladies laughed as they started down the stairs in their fancy outfits, with the chauffeur helping them get in safely.

Derek and Sonja helped Maggie get in as the photographer snapped pictures. Once everyone was in safely, the limo pulled out and they headed down the highway, giggling and laughing.

The limo arrived, and the other photographer snapped away as they got out.

Erica’s two assistants were there with the flowers and handed out the bouquets to the bridesmaids and gave the wrist corsages to Joan and Beth as they kissed Maggie’s cheek and went inside.

Erica escorted the ladies into the waiting room, where they could hear the organ music playing. It reminded Maggie of her mom and grandmother’s funerals and her heart lurched.

Makayla could see the look in Maggie’s eyes and hugged her.

“Nana would be so in love with Liam! And while I don’t remember much of your mom, I know she would just want you happy, and knowing that you are so happy makes all the difference!”

“I couldn’t agree more!” Brett said as he came into the room and hugged everyone. “You look beautiful! Liam won’t know what hit him when you walk down that aisle!”

Everyone laughed as Erica said it was time to go. One of the assistants brought out Ellie and Lucy in their flower girl dresses and baskets of rose petals.

The dads were in charge of them for naps at the hotel so the moms could get ready.

One of Hannah’s favorite babysitters was coming to the reception to watch the girls and take them up for bed when they were done for the evening.

Makayla’s mom would take Abby home for the evening so Makayla and Mike could enjoy the wedding.

Brett kissed Sheila as the ladies walked out of the ready room and went to Maggie, taking her arm in his.

“You look very handsome, Bear. Thank you for doing this for me.”

“I would do anything for you, Maggie. You look incredible and I can’t wait to see my idiot best friend’s face!”

They laughed as they slowly made their way along, listening to the music as their friends made their way to the sanctuary.

“Maggie, I really do love you. I will always protect you. If anything bad happens, I will be there for you, no matter what. You know that, right?”

Maggie looked at him and nodded her head, trying not to cry. “I love you too.”

Brett kissed her cheek. “Then let’s get you married!”
