Chapter 17 Ball of Energy

Hearing his father’s voice from the other line, Little Melon smiled happily. "Don’t be late Dada!"

Little Melon was really excited since it will be the first time that he will be spending his time with his father.

Xia Meiren could only go on with them, if not for her son, she wouldn’t even dare talk to Lu Yifeng. She handed him her phone so that they can talk properly but since Lu Yifeng was doing something on his laptop, Xia Meiren can only hold the phone against his ear instead.

"En. I won’t be late." Lu Yifeng said as the side of his lips slightly curled up.

Xia Meiren couldn’t help but admire Lu Yifeng’s gentle face, but then, she told herself not to be deceived. Under that gentle face is a ferocious and ruthless man. That’s why she ended up having a straight face while holding the phone.

A cute giggle was heard from the other line. "Mello can’t wait, Dada! Drive fast-Oh! but carefully too, okay?"

"Yes, I will." He closed his laptop after saving what he did, putting all his focus on his son.

"Tell momma, I love you."

Lu Yifeng turned to Xia Meiren, "I love you."

Xia Meiren was surprised with what he suddenly said which made her heart race fast. "W-wha..."

"... said Xiao Gua." He added after a short pause.

"O-Oh..." She turned away with an embarrassed face as she placed her phone against her ear, "Mommy loves you too."

"Mm! Mello loves Dada too."

"I’ll end the call now, okay? We are now near the house."

"Okay! Bye Momma! Bye Dada!"

"Bye." After that Xia Meiren kept her phone.

The mood in the car lightened up after the call which made the driver sigh in relief. A call from Little Melon made the suffocating atmosphere disappear.

Entering the gate of the Xia Manor, the car stopped in front of the mansion.

The moment the door was opened, Little Melon, who was wearing a jumpers and carrying a small bag, went running towards his parents. Ji Ruo followed him from behind with a helpless smile.

"Momma! Dada!" He pounced unto Xia Meiren who bent down to catch him in her arms.

Ji Ruo sighed. "He’s been waiting since earlier."

"I’m sorry if he troubled you, grandma." Xia Meiren said with a small smile as she stood straight while carrying Little Melon.

"Troubled me? No way~ Xiao Gua has been a behaved child all this time" Ji Ruo chuckled softly.

Little Melon nodded a few times. "Mello is a good boy."

Lu Yifeng patted his head. "Mm, you are."

Little Melon was so happy when Lu Yifeng patted his head. "Dada, lets go! Lets go!"

Seeing Little Melon so hyper right now made Xia Meiren sigh in defeat, she was actually planning to cancel their outing but since Little Melon was looking forward to it, Xia Meiren couldn’t bring herself to do it. She can’t bear to see her son’s hopeful face being crushed.

She looked at her grandma and smiled a bit. "We’ll be going now, grandma. Xiao Gua, say goodbye to grandma."

"Won’t grandma come with us?" He blinked a few times.

Ji Ruo chuckled, "No, dear. Grandma is old, I won’t be able to catch-up with all the fun. How about you enjoy the amusement park for grandma? I would love to hear what happened once you return."

"Okay!" Little Melon grinned. "Bye bye, grandma!" He waved his small hands to her.

"Don’t worry, I will take care and watch over them the whole way." Lu Yifeng said, reassuring Ji Ruo that he won’t let anything happen to Xia Meiren and Little Melon.

Ji Ruo’s gaze became cold when she looked at Lu Yifeng. "You better should."

"We’ll take our leave now, grandma. We’ll try to come back before dinner."

They went out and entered the black Rolls-Royce car. While in the car, Little Melon sat on Lu Yifeng’s lap before he took one of his bottled milk from his bag and started driking it. Lu Yifeng opened his laptop and made him watch some cartoons while they were on their way.

For the sake of Little Melon, Lu Yifeng actually downloaded some educational cartoons in his laptop that’s why he was busy with his laptop earlier.

Little Melon was quietly enjoying the cartoon he was watching while drinking his milk, he was recharging for the fun they will be having later.
