Did anything happen last night?

Author's POV

"What happened to my sweetheart today? Hmm? She isn't speaking anything" Said Abhi as they were walking at Carter road linking their arms. She was silently walking without speaking anything thinking about the anonymous person on call.

"What will you do if someone lies to you?" She asked. He chuckled.

"Why is that question?" Asked Abhi.

"Tell me, Mani! What will you do if someone cheats you, betrays you, lie to you?" Asked Sitaara turning him to her.

"You already know what I will do. You have seen it in Mr Mishra's case, Mr Sinha's, Rohan's, Sanjana's and Anjana's, Kashyap's cases" he said as his eyes turned red.

"What if I betray you?" She asked.

"You will not. You are my sweetheart. She can never betray me" he said cupping her cheeks. She smiled at him.

Her phone pinged. She pulled back and looped her arm with his again and secretly fished out her phone and saw a message from another private number. It's her's and Abhi's pic while they were walking, him cupping her cheek. Her hands turned cold. She looked around immediately.

"What happened?" He asked. She shook her head in no.

"Is your bodyguards following us?" She asked.

"Yes!! But they mingled among people and wore non-uniform clothes" said Abhi.

"Are they trustworthy?" She asked.

"They are working for me since I took businesses into my hands completely. They should be trustworthy or else they know their whole family will be floating in rivers" he said casually.

"Other than Kashyap's do you have any rivals?" Asked Sitaara.

"Is any one troubling you?" He asked dangerously turning to her.

"No! Not at all. Who dares to come near Me? Abhimanyu Chowdary's wife? When she is beside him especially!" She said nervously.

"I will change your security system. Seems like you are hiding something. I am a businessman and I know how people react act at what situations" said Abhi.

"I asked casually Mani as you are roaming on roads like a common man without any care," she said.

"If am not a common man who am I, baby? May be I'm a successful man today but that happend only because these common people worked hard for me. If am standing in this position, then the credit goes to my employees as I much as I give credit to my family and my hard work. Am rich because of my luck and I don't behave like a typical rich guy. Even I behave like a common man but there will be security following me everywhere" he said looking straight. She smiled.

"Okay!!" She said mentally slapping herself for behaving like that which made him doubt her.

She brought their intertwined fingers to her lips and kissed the back of his palm startling him. He looked at her shocked. She smiled at him making him smile back.

"Never leave me okay?" She said.

"Never" he whispered.

"Even when I push you away okay?" She said.

"I will stick to you like glue" he mumbled with a chuckle.

"Just understand whatever your sweetheart does is for us. For our family. For our love" she said. He looked at her shocked again at her last words. She bit her tongue and slapped her forehead. He smiled but didn't say anything.

"Will tell my past when the time comes. Till then don't judge me okay?" She said.

"Okay!!" He said stressing it. She giggled and pulled him to the food centre. She made him all the varieties that she and Viraj used to eat.

Then they went for a marine drive. She laughed happily like she used to, 3 years ago. Finally, they both came back home. Abhi and Sitaara stood in mid of the main hall. Everyone is already asleep as it's past 2. He stuffed his hands in his pockets looking at her, running scratching his nape occasionally while she was fiddling her fingers looking here and there blushing as if they fell in love just now, behaving like crazy teenagers.

"So?" Asked Abhi.

"So??" She asked raising her eyebrows.

"I want to be with you" he mumbled making her giggle.

"We are together under the same roof. What else do you need?" She asked teasing. He pulled her to him by the waist.

"This! This peace which I get when you are beside me. I don't want to distress even for a second, love. Your closeness makes my heart feel solace" he whispered tucking a hair strand behind her ear.

"This! This assurance I get when you are beside me. I don't want to fear for anything even for a second, Love. Your closeness makes my heart feel calm" she whispered imitating him wrapping her arms around his neck.

"This! This disturbance I get when you, couples, are beside me. Go get a room, guys. Let me sleep" shouted Riaan making them pull back immediately. He slept on the couch as Aarya ordered him. Giving them a look he went under the duvet again.

"Idiot! He sacred us" said Sitaara keeping her hand in her chest.

"It's okay! I guess we can't have our time in between these many people. Go and sleep. Let's explore the city tomorrow. Good night Sweetheart" he said and kissed her forehead.

"Good night" she mumbled and they went to their rooms.

The next day they all woke up early morning and got ready for exploring the city. Though Mumbai is not a new place for none of them as they all have visited many times in different situations still they were excited. They started exploring the city. Sitaara was behaving like a kid making Abhi smile at her childishness. As Aastha, Anish, Rishi and Adhira were tired of carrying their girls, Arjun, Aarya, Situ and Abhi carried them for some time.

"You three looks like a perfect family," said Vikram capturing Sitaara's, Abhi's and Ishitha's pic. Abhi was carrying Ishitha's bag in which all her diapers, food, small and cute toys were there while Sitaara was carrying sleeping Ishitha.

They both looked at each other and smiled blushing. His eyes looked at her longingly imagining her pregnant with his baby, carrying his kids, running behind them, feeding them and many more.

"Indeed they look like perfect family isn't it, Arjun?" Asked Riaan smirking. Arjun looked at a couple and smiled nodding his head.

"But guys she is my daughter. My hard work" said Anish butting in. Aastha slapped on his butt with a red face. Everyone chuckled.

"What? She is the result of my hard work and my sweat beads. Yeah!! Yours too of course" said Anish making Aastha's face red.

"What the hell, Ani!! Shut your mouth" she mumbled tugging his sleeve. He laughed wrapping his hand around her shoulder and pulling her closer.

"See, we have got many persons to take care of our Ishu, so why not give another one for them to carry? Hmm?" He asked seductively.

"Anish" she hissed punching in her stomach. He pecked her lips.

"Love you baby" he whispered.

"Love you too" she mumbled hugging his torso. Abhi looked away while Sitaara smiled.

Abhi took Ishitha from Situ and gave her bags to Situ.

Rest of the day they enjoyed a lot and the next days they spent in Pune. Then they went to Goa by car. Arjun, Riaan, Vikram drove cars sometimes exchanging them with Naman, Rishi, Abhi and Anish.

They booked a resort over there which is one of Naman's friends.

"I thought Naman would never ask Drithi," said Abhi. Naman made funny faces hearing Drithi.

"Who is Drithi?" Asked Sitaara hugging Abhi's torso sideways as they sat on the couch.

"Drithi Akka is Naman Anna's frenemy since school days. She is Aman Peddha daddy's (bade papa/uncle) friend's daughter. They both always fight and can't stand each other's presence. This resort is theirs. When we talked to Prajwal uncle (Drithi's dad), Drithi lifted the call and demanded that Naman anna should ask her. Most of the resorts here are her family's so, having no other chance he requested her" said Dhruv.

"A total nut case, Vadhina(sil)" said Naman shaking his head in annoyance.

"Not to forget beautiful girl too," said Dhruv. Naman glared at him.

"I just don't understand one thing, you hate her but you don't allow me to date her. I have my preferences" said Dhruv.

"She is elder to you, Dhruv and you shouldn't date her. She...she is not...suitable for you" said Naman.

"Oh! Com'on anna! Stop acting like a possessive boyfriend. She is very good at character, beautiful, respects her elders, makes everyone around her happy, never wanted to claim her rights, she is exactly like Situ Vadhina (sil) even in madness. Why shouldn't I date her? Tell me one reason except for age" said Dhruv. Sitaara glared at him and threw a cushion on his face that is placed on the couch.

"Am not mad, okay?" She yelled. Dhruv laughed and threw another cushion at her, which fell on Disha. Disha threw a cushion on Dhruv which fell on Riaan.

"Seems like you took an oath to hurt me, Disha. Huh?" Asked Riaan standing in on his feet and was about to sit beside Disha, Situ glared at him. He winked at her and sat beside Disha. Giving him an awkward smile she took another seat. Sitaara giggled looking at Riaan's crying face.

"I don't want a beautiful, rich, educated girl Vadhina (sil) but a girl like you who takes care of everyone, who is always respectful to her people, who always make people around her happy" Naman recalled words he told to Sitaara the other day which sank with Dhruv's words about Drithi.

'What are you thinking Naman? No Drithi or any other girl. Situ Vadhina (sil) is best. You can't even compare that mad girl with Situ Vadhina(sil)' thought Naman shaking his head to get rid of Drithi's thoughts.

"It's been ages we three hang out like this," said Arjun sitting in sand looking at the beach view. Riaan and Vikram were on either side of him with alcohol bottles in their hands.

"Those days were golden. I wish we could live in those days forever" said Riaan.

A tear escaped Vikram's eyes remembering those days. He wrapped his arm on Arjun's shoulder, Arjun wrapped his arm on Riaan. Three guys cried remembering Viraj.

Suddenly a girl came out of nowhere. She sat beside Vikram.

"Hello" she cooed to Drunken Vikram who is not in his senses.

"Nisha" boys breathed out happily. Seems like she is drunken too.

"Am glad you guys recognised me. Mainly, you Vikky, I thought you would run away as you did in our school days" said Nisha slurring a little.

"Am sorry. It wasn't intentional, Nishu" he said. Her eyes filled with tears hearing 'Nishu' from him like before she proposed to him.

"Why are you here?" Asked Riaan.

"Oh! Mr Invisible is back again!" She said.

"You didn't change. Still, sarcastic" said Arjun rolling his eyes.

"You didn't change too Jun," said Nisha.

"Leave it! Tell me, what are you doing here, Nishu?" Asked Vikram.

"It's my wedding, destination wedding. It's tomorrow. I came here for a walk. Since this resort is for two parties, I found you guys when I was walking by" said Nisha looking at Vikram.

"Your wedding? And you didn't invite us? That's... that's cheating, Nisha" shouted Arjun. She chuckled humourlessly.

"I didn't invite even my best friends. I mean you guys too are my close friends but...still you people never let me in your gang but pretty close aren't we?" Asked Nisha.

"That we are! But tell me why didn't you invite even your best friends?" Asked Riaan.

"My fiance doesn't like my best friends. He banned me contacting from all my friends. But you see, god listened to my prayers and I found you guys" said Nisha with tears running down her cheeks.

"Are you forced into this marriage, Nishu?" Asked Vikram and was about to wrap his hand on her but stopped himself withdrawing it back.

"For the first time, you understood me, Vikky. But it's truly late" said Nisha with a sad smile.

"That's not correct, Nisha. Shall we help you? We will" said Riaan and Arjun standing up.

"Everything is over, Arjun and Rio. I can't stop this marriage. I agreed with it wholeheartedly though I didn't want to" said Nisha.

"Why happened with you, Nisha?" Asked Vikram. She looked at him with tears. Arjun and Riaan left from there giving privacy to them as once they were almost a couple. Even Vikram likes her but never admitted it whereas Nisha loves him to death.

Vikram opened his eyes as sun rays hit on him. He felt something heavy on his hand. He looked at his arm and saw Nisha sleeping next to him peacefully. He checked the surroundings and found himself in his room in the resort they booked. He could hear Sitaara's and others voices from outside.

Suddenly Nisha hugged him and he felt something unusual and peeked inside the blanket. His eyes went wide seeing himself naked along with Nisha in nothing. He sat up immediately and turned to Nisha.

"Nisha...wake up!! Nisha..." he called with closed eyes patting her cheeks. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Vikram with messy hair looking handsome.

"Even after what like 12 years, you still come in my dreams Vikram. Even when am getting married? I love you she said in her sleepy voice.

"Nisha come out of your sleep. Look at yourself" Vikram whisper yelled.

Hearing his voice in real she woke up with a jerk and saw herself in nothing. She immediately pulled sheets to her neck.

"Did anything happen last night?" She asked. Vikram looked around and found their clothes on the floor. Nisha started sobbing.

"Shit!! What did we do last night Vikram? It... Today it's my marriage at night and here we...we did it" she cried while he was still in shock. He turned to her to say something but words didn't come out of his mouth to say anything. He is angry at himself to have meaningless sex, losing his virginity for a woman who is not his. His eyes fell on her neck where he saw many hickeys. He held his head in his hands.

"Go! Go back to your side of the resort, bitch! You always wanted this, isn't it? Getting into my bed? Huh? You played a marriage drama to get me closer to you, isn't it, Nisha? Such a whore you are! You are getting married and here you slept with me" whisper yelled Vikram while she looked at him in shock.

"You mean to say, I seduced you to get in your bed? Did I force you? We both are equally responsible for this Vikram. How can you call me names when I loved you all my life, even now when am getting married? How cheap Vikram! This is what you understood me? This?! Getting into your bed? Okay! I was shameless to get into your bed cheating on my fiance though I was not in my mind but what about you? Why did you take away my virginity? If I was a whore what you are? You should have pushed me. You were also part of this still you blame me because you want to make yourself safe side even making a woman character low" she shouted.

"You are a virgin?" He asked. She looked at him with tears.

"Throughout my life, you were the only man I had in my life. Do I look like a characterless girl to you? Who sleeps with every man she meets? You were my closest friend and the only man who stole my heart that's why I was with you even at late night but it doesn't mean that I stayed back with you to have sex or it doesn't mean that I stay back with every man I see and have sex with them" She said as tears made their way.

"Right now, I don't care anything, Nisha. Just forget what happened between us and get out. Never show your face to me again" he barked at her and got down the bed covering himself and walked into the washroom.

Nisha wiped her tears and wore her clothes. Adjusting her hair properly to hide her hickeys she walked out of the room holding her tears back and saw many unknown faces except her classmates.

"Nishu" shrieked Aarya and Situ and hugged her. Vikram rushed outside.

"What are you doing here? Vikram's room? Did he accept you? So you are his mysterious love?" Asked Sitaara excitedly.

"She was drunk and I brought her here. She is getting married tomorrow" said Vikram. Nisha looked at him with teary eyes and nodded in agreement to Situ when he glared at her not to say anything.

"I should get going, Situ. I will meet you guys sometime later. My family must be searching for me" said Nisha and ran away blinking her tears before they could stop her.

"What's wrong with her? We guys met after 10 years and she ran away just like that" mumbled Sitaara.

"Her family must be waiting, Situ. It's her wedding and if the bride is missing that would lead to unwanted tension right..! So she ran away" He said. Sitaara nodded understanding.

"You sure you guys didn't do anything?" Asked Aarya.

"No! Not at all. We just slept together...like..like cuddling that's it!" said Vikram.

"You seem glowing like a girl," said Aarya.

"We had beers yesterday. It makes us look different" said Vikram and sprinted back to his room. They looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders at his weird behaviour.

"Where are you going, Vikram?" Asked Riaan and Arjun to come inside his room. Vikram was packing his bag.

"Back to Hyderabad!! Company call. My presence is needed there" said Vikram packing his bags.

"Tomorrow it's Situ's birthday Vikram. There is a surprise party. How can you leave now?" Scolded Arjun. Vikram stopped packing and sat on the bed with his head in his hands.

"I had sex with Nisha" he mumbled.

"What?" Yelled Arjun and Riaan in shock as Vikram was never that kind of guy who crosses his limits especially with the engaged woman, heck, he doesn't even look at any woman properly and if he looks at them it is out of respect.

"Don't shout! Yes, we did it. We both were drunk. I don't remember anything, even a little, not even blurry images. I...I feel very guilty. I feel to go back home and do nothing. Forget everything. I saved myself for my soulmate and it happened. I am hating myself. I don't want to stay here and fortunately, in my favour, I have an important meeting at the company" said Vikram.

"I don't want to go realising it's our Situ's birthday but I have to, or else it's dangerous for my company," said Vikram.

"One min, Vikram! How can you do it with a woman who is someone's bride? That's very disgusting, Vikram. It's so unethical" chided Riaan.

"It happened when we both were not in senses, Rio. After you guys left... I don't remember anything...we talked..till midnight and I don't know what happened after that. When I woke up I was in bed with her" said Vikram. Arjun let out a frustrated sigh.

"I can't believe you did this, Vikram!! We left you both alone because she used to feel comfortable around you, you were her best friend and she used to share her every problem with you. Now we can't change anything. Anyways, are you going without attending Situ's birthday?" Asked Arjun. Suddenly, Vikram's phone rang again.

"See, am getting calls continuously. And my father seems to be on fire. He is blaming me for the fiasco that happened there. Right now, I don't think I can stay here. Bye" said Vikram and zipped his bag.

"I thought we could enjoy this reunion, Vicky," said Riaan sadly. Vikram hugged him.

"We will. We will celebrate again. For sure. My presence is needed there now" said Vikram patting Riaan's back. Riaan hummed sadly and pulled back.

"Only you guys will share a hug, join me too" whined Arjun and pounced on them. They shared a group hug.

Vikram met Abhi and told him about his departure. Abhi faked sadness dancing inside as his plan succeeded as he is the one who made Vikram go away. Anish and Rishi looked at him smirking at his act.

"Such a selfish bastard! Cunning asshole" whispered Anish to Rishi.

"Look at his acting man! He is such a great actor. His possessiveness is reaching peaks" said Rishi.

"And that's not a good sign, Rishi. Am getting scared" said Anish. Rishi hummed.

"Don't tell Situ now about me leaving. She will roast me alive" said Vikram chuckling hugging Abhi.

"I won't. I know how close you both are! It's better like this "said Abhi.

"Like this?" Asked Arjun confused.

"Hiding about his sudden departure," said Abhi with a fake sad smile.

"Stop overacting! You don't smile like this even when you are with Sitaara" whispered Rishi. Abhi immediately stopped showing his teeth.

"Bye, Vikram" whispered Abhi. He nodded and went away with Arjun and Riaan as they both are dropping him at the airport.

Abhi jumped high in the air laughing once Vikram was out of sight.

"Bastard! He looks at my wife? Next time, I just won't create a problem, I will make his company out of the business world" said Abhi while his friends were looking at his crazy love for Sitaara which made him rift both best friends. Because of his insecurity, he didn't care about his wife's pain for the absence of Vikram.

"Abhi, this is wrong. You shouldn't have done it, man" said Rishi.

"What? He looks at my wife in front of me and I should sit calmly?" Scoffed Abhi.

"Abhi did you see him looking at Sitaara creepily after that day when we spoke about it? No! He was all clear, Abhi. Maybe we misunderstood him" said Anish.

"You guys are siding him" exclaimed Abhi.

"We are not! Being ruthless in business is okay! You should! But you are being ruthless in your personal life too. You didn't think of Sitaara. Even once. What she will feel if her best friend isn't with her on her day? Do you remember? You used to not celebrate birthdays even if I or Rishi won't attend. You are clouded by your insecurities, man! Your possessiveness, jealousy is making you blind from seeing the person's pain for whom you are doing all this" said Anish.

"Am not jealous but am insecure. I agree. Because I never had anyone in my life like her. I feel suffocated even at the thought of losing her and you guys, very well know why I do all this and what is my situation. You both promised to never judge me, understand me and stand by me but you both broke it though you both know what kind of man is real Abhimanyu. See, even you guys left me alone and I don't want it to happen to incase of Sitaara. I want a person to me. Only to me. Understand me. Care for me. Think about me. Understand why I do few things which are beyond my control and I can see all those in Sitaara" shouted Abhi.

"You fucking stop this obsession, Abhi. We know you, the real Abhimanyu who can become a beast who hurts his love when things go wrong. We don't want Sitaara to face your beast nature. You are getting obsess-"

Abhi punched on Rishi's mouth before he complete his sentence.

"Have you gone mad, Abhi? What the fuck is wrong with you? This is we are afraid of. You always do this when someone points out your obsession" shouted Anish.

"I love her. She is not my obsession" screamed Abhi and punched Anish making his nose bleed.

"Bastard" screamed Anish and Rishi and punched him back. They started fighting like low-class people cussing each other, beating each other till their shirts tore.

Sitaara and other girls came back to the resort. They were heading inside the resort laughing and heard dirty cuss words which were unbearable and a few painful groans. They rushed inside and saw the 3 men who used to be like brothers fighting like mad dogs even after their noses were bleeding and lips had cuts, shirts got tattered.

Their wives ran to them pulling them away.

"Leave me, Sitaara" screamed Abhi.

"Mani, stop this. You can't beat them. One is your bil, your sister's husband, how can you disrespect him like that? And other is your co-brother, you can't and shouldn't fight with them" shouted Sitaara making him look at her. He went calm hearing her voice. Her presence beside him made his harsh breaths turn into a normal ones. Her touch made wonders which brought him back to sane. Her eyes which are like a sea he wanted to dive in and never come back made him as calm as the sea. But the pain in his heart couldn't be able to fade away. His heart screamed for her consolation, her assurance, her shooing away his insecurities.

His eyes teared up looking at her. He rested his forehead on hers and started sobbing.

"No one is there for me, Taara. Everyone leaves me. I thought they understand me but no! I was wrong. I was hell wrong. Even they proved that everything is temporary in this world. You don't leave me, taara. Please. I can't live without you" he sobbed.

"I will not leave you. I promise. Please don't cry" she cried along with him.

"You won't leave," he said.

"I won't," she said.

"You won't leave," he said.

"I won't," she said.

"You won't leave," he said.

"I won't," she said.

"You won't leave," he said.

She lifted herself on her toes and pulled him to her level holding his collar and placed her lips on his to make him believe. He was taken back by her bold move and stood shocked. She chuckled in his mouth and dug her teeth into his lower lip before pulling back. Caressing his lower lip, she smiled at him shyly.

"I will never leave you" she whispered moving her hands to his cheek to cup them and wipe his tears. He nodded.

"I want some time for myself," he said moving away and taking a shirt from the hanger and moving away.

Sitaara looked at Anish and Rishi whose eyes were reflecting pain, regret and sadness.

"Both of you change your clothes and clean your wounds," said Sitaara.

"He is not the man you see. Never break him like we did today. He is...."
