Abhi's past

Author's POV

"Samhith Nandhan, my best friend since childhood" said Abhi and took a sip as a tear already escaped his eyes.

"I and Samhith are bestfriends since childhood. Later, Rishi and Anish joined us when we in kindergarten and Anika became friend of us in Engineering. We 5 were most famous in college either it's in studies or sports or any other field" he said smiling remembering his college days

"Samhith's mom and dad, Vaibhav uncle and Prerna aunty are like my own parents. Vaibhav uncle is my mentor and a godfather to me. Vaibhav uncle came from a super rich family, he was thrown out of the house at the age of 21 falsely accusing that he sold his father's company secrets to their rivals, Kashyap's and they went under bankrupt. Uncle furiously left from there not caring to look back even once. Aunty being a perfect soulmate for him, followed him"

"With the help of my father he found a home to live. Aunty kept all her properties which are given to her as dowry, at finance agency and helped uncle to start up his own firm. Aunty and Uncle together started their own firm without taking anyone's help, not even my father's. Soon Aunty gave birth to Samhith Nandhan, my bestfriend. Till Sam's birth their company was running with ups and downs but after his birth their company stood in top ten companies of our country. As he grew up, their company too grew up in business world and at when he was 10, his company stood in top place in Asia. But in the process of proving his worth to his father and building up his empire Vaibhav uncle and Prerna aunty forgot to shower love towards Samhith. He never had anyone to praise him when he stood first in academics, he never had anyone to scold him when he did anything mischevious, he never had anyone to support him in his hard times, uncle-aunty never even visited his parent teacher meetings. My mother became his mom but no can replace their own mother's place. Can they? Understanding his parents busy schedule, he started searching for love in my parents, in his friends, teachers, anyone but his own parents" said Abhi and sighed taking a sip from his bottle.

"Then, Anjana entered our lives in engineering 1st year. She was Anika's room mate. She used to hang out with us and became close friend of Samhith. He didn't love her then but was very close to her and he started sharing everything to her. She took advantage of his condition and started showering her fake love for his money. I, Anish, Rishi and Anika observed him developing feelings for her. He used to be very happy with Anjana, he used to laugh wholeheartedly, he used to smile genuinely, so we never doubted Anjana's intentions and let him be close with her. One day she proposed Samhith but he rejected her politely as his past girlfriends were only behind his money but she pretended that she love him very much, can't live without him and many more things, finally Samhith started falling for her but didn't tell her about his feelings. At the end of the 1st year I was given a chance to work with seniors in a project and I was at college itself one evening whereas my friends went back to hostel. After completing my work, I was going back to hostel, I saw Anjana kissing one of my senior at washroom. They both were intensely making out that she didn't acknowledge my presence untill I called out her name loudly. She pushed that man away and came to me running saying it happened at the heat of moment and many more shitty talks. She pleaded me not to tell Samhith about this and I didn't, not because she pleaded me but my friend who love her will be heartbroken. She pleaded me in many ways to forgive her for almost 4 months but I didn't budge. I was protecting Samhith not to grow his feelings for Anjana more" he said and looked up at sky chuckling humourlessly.

"But, Taara I never expected that protecting my friend from a characterless bitch, I would fall for one and it will change my life" he said looking at Sitaara with tears. She clasped his palm in between hers and smiled assuringly. He held her hand tightly and continued after taking a sip from his bottle.

"In second year, Anika was ragging a group of girls and I went there, I met her, Sanjana, my ex girlfriend whom I loved with all my heart. She was Anjana's sister, Anjana introduced her to me so that she(sanjana) distracts me and get Anjana closer to Samhith and it worked. After many pleadings I forgave Anjana and gave her chance which I regret till day. Soon, I fell in love with Sanjana, her eyes, her talks, her beauty, her way of carrying herself with confident. I fell in love with her everything. In a short period of time Samhith-Anjana, Abhimanyu- Sanjana became famous pairs in whole campus. We wanted our girlfriends to meet our parents but they requested to keep it as a secret from our families and reveal it after our graduation. We all were busy in our own worlds. Rishi was in love with your sister, Adhira, Anish never had a girlfriend but familly problems to handle so there was no chance for him to fall in love and Anika was busy with books. We spent a year together happily".

"In third year Rishi saw Anjana and Sanjana with different men out of the college, but he didn't say us as he wanted to confirm it. He and Anish together spied Anjana and Sanjana which didn't go unnoticed by those bitches. Before Anish and Rishi could tell us, they used both prepare us very well so that we don't believe my friends. Like this another year passed away and we lost our companies. Sanjana stopped hanging out with me but we used to talk to eachother through phone. Once I started my own company, she came to me again"

"In our 4 th year even Anika started telling us about our girlfriends cheating on us. Rishi and Anish were trying prove their true colours but were failing miseribily as we priorotized our girlfriends over our best friends. One day we even got into huge fight with Anish and Rishi but they never left us. Anish and Rishi went to their home to warn but these bitches seduced them and forced them to bed. I and Sam too went there accidently and saw our girlfriends hovering over my bestfriends but Anjana and Sanjana saw us and turned the plates as if making us believe that Anish was forcing Sanjana and Rishi forcing Anjana. We being fools blinded by their fake love believed them even when we saw the reality. That day we beat our bestfriends to death and they were admitted in hospitals for straight one whole week. That was the day we took advance step in our relation. Anjana and Sanjana cried that they want to get rid of Anish and Rishi's touches and requested us to make love. Unable to see their crying faces we made love but it was sex for them. After that it became frequent getting into physical".

"We hitting our friends made Anika furious, she tried many ways to open our eyes and see the truth which irked Anjana and Sanjana, they made all fake proofs against Anika having affairs, sleeping with many men and they showed them to Anika's family. Seeing them they treated Anika very badly, they used to beat her to death on every weekend when she goes to Jaipur. That's when, they fixed her marriage with Rohan who was a top most playboy".

"In mid of 4th year, to make us play to their tunes they played very dirty game. They told that they are pregnant with our babies. Though I wasn't strong financially during those days, I took care of Sanjana accepting the baby. After few days, we pairs went Samhith's mansion when his parents went on business trip for 1 month. After they came back, Vaibhav uncle found that 20 crores went missing from the lockers. As I was close to them knowing every secret of them and that house and was facing financial problems, he accused me that I stole money for my family's needs. I was even sent to jail, dad's and uncle's relation broke because I was accused. Anish and Rishi proved that I was innocent but couldn't find out the actual culprit. After that uncle apologised me many times. Though I forgave him without second thought, Samhith's relation got worsen with his parents as they accused me"

"In all these chaos, Anish and Rishi brought few reports one day when we were in college canteen, it stated that Anjana and Sanjana aborted the babies plus they(Anish & Rishi) gave DNA reports which came negative and proved we are not responsible for their pregnancy. We furiously went to their home and accidentally and fortunately we heard their parents talking how they(Sanjana & Anjana) stole money from Samhith's lockers. Samhith directly went inside amd smacked Anjana's father, Mr Rao. Then, we both went to our girlfriend's rooms to confront about pregnancy game they played and what we saw litreally made us shocked. Sanjana was lying naked with a man and Anjana lying naked with someother man in her room. I slapped Sanjana so hard that her teeth broke and Samhith's slap made Anjana loose the ability to hear properly''.

"We slowly tried to move on from our girlfriends betrayal but it was spreaded in campus, our rivals, Vihaan spreaded it badly and whole campus started making fun of us. They used to pin our drawings with getting betrayal theme on notice board and many more all this took a bad toll on us but we never told our families. Concentrating on studies again we all 5 friends got seat in MIT. But Anika's family were reluctant to send her. After of lot of pleadings and proving the truth, they decided to get her married and move to US with Rohan as he has a some business dealings in US. But Rohan came to know the rumours about anika on their engagment day and he wasn't ready to believe us. Hoping everything good we all went there after Anika got married. Rohan used to bring girls to their penthouse and used to make Anika see him having sex with them. If at all she used to close her eyes, he either used to force himself on her or hit her with whatever he find. Unable to bear the torture, she committed suicide after 1 month of her marriage and we could save her afer lot of difficulty. Her stupid attempt created a problem in conceiving now. We boys almost killed Rohan after coming to know about his deeds. I made Rohan life hell both personally and professionally. It was a very hopeless situation for him, he literally begged holding my legs to stop this revenge for treating my best friend, Anika like that. After Anika got recovered he did everything for her forgiveness and made her fall in love with him".

"Though I and Samhith tried to move on but we couldn't. Samhith was weak to handle situations like this as he had always thread like relationships and very sensitive when comes to love, so everyone took special care of him so that he won't fall into depresion but I had no one, I used to cry to myself unable to forget Sanjana even after her betrayal, I couldn't even look at any girl, I was all alone even standing in between thousands of people. I want to tell my mom and cry in her embrace but I felt ashamed of myself to get betrayed by a girl in worst way which made me stop myself from sharing everything to anyone. From then I stopped sharing, from then the original Abhimanyu was lost, he was no longer a man he used to be and used to deal with people in his own way to avoid further heart breaks. Unknowingly, I fell in depression, yet I didn't negelect studies and became topper of the batch and also handling the business. After our graduation we came back and I took up business completely into my hands. Within 3 months I cracked the best deal which built a craze for my company. Samhith, Anish and Rishi was no less, they were also acing in their own fields. I was almost moving on from my past, Sanajna and Anjana entered again into our lives begging for forgiveness but I threw her out of my company giving a strict warning not to meet me again though my heart felt to cry to bring her back giving her a one last chance. Whereas Anjana played her tricks with Samhith again but he didn't bother. After six months Samhith forgave her and a gave one last chance but he didn't tell us"

"In those 6 moths, Anish and Aastha got married as Anish's grandparents were lying on deathbed and wanted to see their only grand son married. He is the only man in their home all other were his sisters, 8 sisters. We couldn't find a perfect bride for Anish in short period of time so I talked to my aunt-uncle about Anish as they are very fond of him since childhood, Aastha too agreed for our parents and my sake and they got married but Samhith couldn't attend the wedding as he was struck in London due to sudden cancellation of flight due to bad wheather. After wedding I went to Australia to crack a deal. Anish was busy with his marriage life, Rishi was busy with Adhira and though Rohan loves Anika he couldn't go against his mom who is a vile woman who stopped Anika from working and from meeting us accusing her infidelity. Taking it as a chance Anjana became close to Samhith again, they both went to Mumbai one day and enjoyed sometime. At night she drugged him taking him into a hotel room. Once he went unconscious, she took advantage of his body. She captured few photos of him making them look like he is forcing on her. Next day as usual they came back. Samhith called us and told about him reconciling with Anjana. We all were very much furious and stopped talking to him".

"There it started again, Anjana came to his office and showed him photos which she took in hotel room, to make it realistic she morphed them too. She started blackmailing him that she will release them to media tarnishing his name if he won't give her money and few deal papers. It continued for days but he didn't tell us as he feel mortified to face us and discuss his problem as he didn't obey our advice. As he wasn't giving in to her, she gave them to media and filed complain against him of raping her after drugging her. I was in struct in Australia but I made few arrangements through Anish and Rishi to take care of the issues. All the investors backed off from his company, no one were deal to with his company. Case was going in favour of Anjana as Aahil kashyap was the one who sent her and supported her from start. We didn't know that Kashyap even bought our lawyer to back off. That was the last day of court hearing, expecting a good news regarding the case, I brought a good news about my company. I directly went to Samhith's company" he said and started sobbing loudly. Sitaara hugged him.

"If you want you can stop, Mani. Please don't cry" she said.

"No I want to say it, Taara. I can't bury this pain anymore" he said in her neck.

"Please don't leave me. I lost many things in my life. I don't want to loose you, Sweetheart" he said making her heart beat frantically as his words are affecting her badly making her backoff from her plans.

"Please" he requested resting his forehead on hers. She wanted to pullback but she couldn't. She started feeling all the things that she felt with Viraj, no! not listening to his past but his closeness to her for the first time.

"Baby...Sitaara... please promise me you won't leave me making me alone again" he whispered cupping her neck as their foreheads still attached. He opened his eyes not getting any response from her and found her with closed eyes.

"What happened when you went to Samhith anna's office?" she asked opening her eyes, he moved back and continued telling again.

"Though it was last hearing, he didn't go to court. He was waiting for the judgement at his office and Anish and Rishi who attended the hearing on his behalf called him telling that he was proven guilty and we lost the case and police are on their way to take him to jail. I started walking to he entrance unaware of the judgement. Suddenly people started shouting, even before I realise what was happening, Samhith's body fell from 25th floor on ground right in front of my eyes near my legs" he said making Sitaara gasp with tears.

"I...I stood their numb looking at..my best friends broken legs, hands, his head cracked showing up is brain, his blood flowing like rivers. I was too shocked to react anything. All his blood spilled on by suit. I felt darkness consuming me and before I fell right beside my bestfriend's body all I saw was blood pool, that's when I developed hemophobia" he said and sobbed loudly. Sitaara cupped her mouth crying listening to painful sobs of Abhi.

"When I opened my eyes I wanted all that to be a dream but all I found myself lying in Samhith's mansion in his bedroom. I walked down stairs only to hear painful cries of prerna aunty. As I reached last step, I saw my family crying, Anish and Rishi were sobbing like never before. As soon as they saw me, they ran to me and hugged tightly crying".

"Just then I saw, a body entering inside on a stretcher drapped in white cloth but the body doesn't have a human structure. Every part was disjoint from the trunk. The legs which used to play football were off his lower body. The hands which used to play cricket, Video games were lying separately. His head was covered with bandage. The eyes which used to show determination and courage were closed. His handsome, ever smiling face was unrecognizable. Once they placed my bestfriend near his photo, I fell on my knees crying. Uncle was shocked to react anything, he sat on ground leaning on to wall looking into space while aunty was crying till she fainted. I never expected that I would perform his last rites, Taara. Yes, I performed his last rites as uncle didn't move from his place, aunty was admitted in hospital, Samhith's family abandoned his body as he was a rapist in their eyes" he said as tears didn't stop steaming from his eyes.

"I feel guilty for giving that Anjana a chance in the beginning when I already knew her character, I feel guilty for not being on side when he needed me, I feel guilty for enjoying my success whereas my friend was crying due to his downfall. Love killed my friend, Taara. Love killed a whole family. Love killed uncle's hardwork" he cried.

"Please don't cry, Mani. Samhith anna wouldn't be happy seeing you crying" she said wiping his tears. He hugged her tightly and sobbed loudly while she was consoling him.

"Even, aunty- uncle too left me, Taara. They were like my parents. Except that money issue they never differentiated me and Samhith. They took care of me like their own son but left me at the end just like my bestfriend left me" he cried on her shoulder.

"A month after we found uncle lying in his cabin lifeless. He had a heart stroke still unable to take his son's death news. Even then I did the last rites of my mentor, my godfather, Vaibhav uncle. Prerna aunty who couldn't bear the loss of her son's and husband's death in just a month, stopped responding to anyone. We consulted many physiatrists but no avail. One day I was going to our Mansion after my work, I saw huge crowd on road. I saw dad's car too. Getting suspicious, I got down the car and moved through the crowd and saw Prerna Aunty lying on road with blood surronded her. My father who was like a brother to her tried to make her concious but she didn't respond. I immediately ran to her and lifted her in my arms crying, I was walking to my car one of the men around there stopped me saying a mother of a rapist should die for not teaching him ethics. I placed aunty in car and walked to the same man and gave him hard punch and took aunty to hospital. She went into coma, after 2 years she left this world. All their companies and properties were donated to charity except the mansion. I bought it as I don't want to give away the house my bestfriend and I created many memories with his parents" he said and pulled back.

"After that I, Rishi and Anish tried to bring the justice and prove my dead bestfriend's innocence. We submitted all the evidences and submitted them in court. After fight for justice for 3 and half years, court declared Samhith as innocent 5 months ago. Anjana was sent to jail for wrong accusations with a penalty of 5 lakhs''said Abhi.

"This is not her end, Taara. I pulled her family on roads. Made them to stand in a position where they can neither die nor live. I made sure they even feel difficulty to make each grain of rice pass their throat. Her parents comes to me atleast twice a week begging me holding my legs but not even once I spared a glance at them. I didn't even stop them from touching my legs. Sanjana works as a bar dancer to meet her ends but even there I made sure she paid less so that she can only get only a bread packet for whole week to eat. But seems like she found someone again but I won't let her enjoy. Anjana came back from jail a month ago on bail but she works as a prostitute now but I will make sure she beg on roads. I will make her beg to kill her unable bear the torture am gonna give her. I won't give her a chance to die even when she is on her death bed. She has to go through the same pain my friend went through each and every second and I'll make sure she will" he said wiping his tears harshly.

"Is that why you hate women? Called me gold digging slut?" She asked.

"Please don't repeat it again. I was a fool to call you that. That day I was no..leave it. Am sorry for that day, sweetheart. And yes! That's why I hate women. I lost belief in them. Single woman whom my friend loved blindly killed not only him but also his family and his father's hardwork. For what? Just for money she ruined his reputation. Just for money she joined her hands with Aahil Kashyap. Just for money she sold her body, gave her naked pics to media to tarnish Samhith's name so that she gets money" said Abhi gritting his teeth.

"Not all women are same, Mani. It's the greediness, their hunger for great achievements in short cut ways, their obsession for power make people like that. Not all woman are gold diggers" she said. He looped his hand around hers and rested his head on her shoulder.

"I don't know about all the women, I only know my woman is not such kind of lady and different from many women around us" he said with smile. She tried to pull her hand back but held it tightly.

"Does your parents know about Sanjana?" She asked.

"No! I never told them. After she betrayed me, I never wanted to discuss about her so I never shared with them" he said with his head still lying on her shoulder.

"After, Samhith left us, I became a drunkard. I rarely used to visit home. I used to indulge myself in alcohols, cigars, drugs sometimes and work. I used to eat for like once in 3 days. I fell into depression, I used to have nightmares. After 4 years I came back home a month before our marriage as my grandfather had a heart stroke because of his age. He begged me to come back and I shifted back to our mansion after 4 years. I didn't even attend Rishi's wedding properly maybe that's why we both never met" he said. She chuckled.

"We met" she said.

Finally Abhi's past is out!! But do you guys think is this is the end of his miseries? Is he hiding anything more?

They behaved as fools, didn't they? They believed Sanjana and Anjana over Anish, Rishi and Anika. Love blinds us from seeing such things and make us attempt many things. Some good. Some bad.

One of my friends too was blinded by love to see the truth of her partner and was even about to commit a foolish thing when she came to know about the betrayal. It's a real life example to explain we really don't see many toxic things drowning in such feelings.

Samhith was always a love deprived child which made him fall in love with Anjana again and again, betrayal after betrayal. Well, Abhi too have his own reasons for falling in love with Sanjana deeply.

It's neither Abhi's nor Samhith's mistake to fall in love and believe in their girlfriends. But they are at fault for sure for not trying to see the reality even for once.

You all might be thinking they are utter fools and couldn't read one's intentions but.... they only tried to read their girlfriends intentions hoping for good things which made them to see only good things.

Never commit suicide or other stupid things. To win over something, we need to live and fight for it. Suicide only pushes the person and his/her people in pain. You see, Samhith attempted suicide but did he see the justice? Are his parents living happily? Are his bestfriends living happily? Did his death teach Anjana a lesson? No! Nothing happened like that. If he was alive today, atleast his parents would be alive, friends would be happy, enjoyed his victory of getting justice, he would have taught Anjana a never forgetting lesson.

I didn't mention about suicide to encourage you guys but to see the effects of it on one's life, one's people's lives, one's happiness. Think before taking such step, think about your parents, friends and the life you have if won't commit such thing.

Anish and Rishi are true friends aren't they? They stood by Abhi and Samhith even when Abhi and Samhith pushed them away, didn't believe them, beat them to death.

You guys must have understood why Anika was forced to marry Rohan, how he tormented her in the beginning, how Abhi was hard in him and how Rohan changed himself.

Even you guys agree that Abhi's and Samhith's foolishness is the reason behind Anika's miseries, her break up with Naman?

Abhi is really a good at taking revenges, isn't he? He tortured Rohan for making Anika go through hell. He is torturing Anjana and Sanjana and her whole family for making them pay fo their mistakes.

So, do you guys think he will help in bringing justice to Viraj if Sitaara ask him?
