I know most of you don't read at the end where I conclude the chapter with a set of questions or statements. So, here are few questions from the author.

Sunshine in his dark life

Author's note:-

In this chapter am not talking about caste and all to insult anyone. Am just gonna talk about society and their views. Yes! there are people who still discriminate people based on caste and many unwanted factors though it's a taboo to even talk. But let's be practical, this is the shit happening in society. I have seen many crimes in the name of honor issues in my surrondings and I put them down here and in further chapters, in words though not in depth still...

Please don't judge me and my writings because I spoke about caste.

Author's POV

2 days later,

''Did you talk to your family about us?'' Asked Arjun to Aarya. She snuggled into his bare chest shaking her head in 'no'.

''Aarya, you aren't letting me talk to them neither you are talking to them. It's high time baby. When are you going to talk to them?'' Asked Arjun caressing her cheeks.

''Am scared, Jun. You don't know about Abhi Anna's possessiveness. Didn't you remember how he beat shit out of Arnab just because he was interested in me?'' Asked Aarya.

''So, how long are you gonna hide about us? I just don't understand why you and Situ hid about your boyfriends from your families'' Said Arjun all annoyed.

''You don't understand. If Situ told about Viru bhaiyya to her family am sure they wouldn't let him live in peace and about me? You aren't aware of my brothers'' she said.

''Why wouldn't Situ's family accept Viru bhaiyya? Didn't they accept Adhira akka and Rishi Anna's love? If only she told about her love matter her family may be Viru bhaiyya would've been alive today and they both would've lead a happy life'' said Arjun with tears remembering about Viraj as he was one his bestfriends.

''Adhira akka and Rishi anna both are of same caste, Jun. Moreover, Rishi anna brought the allaince as a business deal, not even till today no one in Shetty's except cousins knew that Rishi anna and Adhira akka were lovers earlier. Sitaara's family don't accept intercaste marriages, they are kind of narrow minded. Dev mama(uncle) wouldn't object it but Sitaara's grandfather would make Viraj Bhaiyya's life hell because he is not only of their caste but also from another state and a punjabi'' said Aarya.

''Then even Sitaara and Abhi anna aren't of same caste. Still didn't they accept it? It's just your assumptions. Those times when caste discrimination was followed passed away, now no one cares about caste and all the shit which is a good change'' he said.

''Even I have a doubt on it, Arjun. My family were adamant to make Abhi anna Shetty's son in law. Among all my family members mom and dad were much more adamant. Mom literally threatened Abhi anna with her life which she never did with his past allainces she brought for him, only then he accepted to marry. And, yes, time changed and people's mind set also changed but not much and Sitaara's grandfather is the one among the people who didn't change. Ved bro fought with his family for almost 5 years and married to Kyathi akka 6 months ago but still his grandfather didn't accept Kyathi akka as dil of Shetty's. This is cruel. Isn't it?'' Asked Aarya.

''It's obviously cruel. Oh god! I'll never object my kids from breaking up with their partners even if they are from other religion and country too'' said Arjun. Aarya smiled blushing.

''Now, tell me when are you gonna talk about us with your family?'' Asked Arjun seriously.

''I don't know'' she mumbled looking at his toned chest.

''Stop this, Aarya. Fine! You don't talk. Tomorrow I'll come to your home and tell them about us'' he said angrily.

''No! Don't do that. Please'' she said immediately.

''Wait! Are you objecting me from telling to your parents about us because am a orphan?'' He asked with a sarcastic smile and chuckled bitterly. She slapped him sitting up and pulled sheets to her neck. He looked at her shocked.

''Who told that you are an orphan? Am there for you. Situ and Vikram are there for you. Our families are there for you and why the hell would I think in such a way? Neither I nor my family will ever think in that way and they don't object our partners with such narrow minded thoughts'' she shouted.

''Then let's tell them instead of sleeping, making love without marriage behind their back. Listen, Aarya, I don't want us to regret making love behind their back when they trusted me and let me in your home. I don't want break your brothers trust on me especially. When they catch us red handed I will definitely regret making love to you and I fucking don't want that. Just go and talk to them within a week or I'll come your home with my uncle and aunt with marriage proposal'' he said sternly.

''You aren't understanding my position, Arjun. My father is sick now, my brother and my bestfriend got married a one and half month ago. If I tell them, though my father accept you without a second thought but Abhi anna won't . He may accuse Situ that she hid it from him and this would lead a fight between them which I don't want. They both suffered a lot in their lives now I just can't rift them because of us when everything is going fine between them'' she said.

''If you tell them after years wouldn't it lead to any fight between them then? Stop this lame excuses, Aarya. From now till a week let's not meet each other and you are saying to your family if not let's break up. I can't cheat on your family anymore'' he said. She looked at him with tears.

''You want to break up with me?'' She whispered.

''If you don't tell them about us, I want it'' he said not looking at her.

''You won't understand, Arjun. Because you never had sister. If you ever had a sister you would've understand how does it feel when she comes and tell you that she love someone'' said Aarya angrily without realising how much her words hurted him to core which reminded him of his past.

''If you never had a guts to tell your family, you shouldn't have fall in love or sleep with me, Aarya. And yes, I never know a brother's position because I am a worst brother in the world'' he said and wiped his tears remembering his sister Maya. Aarya realised what she uttered and tried to hug him but he pushed her away.

''Arjun, baby am sorry I didn't mean to hurt you. Please don't push me away'' cried Aarya.

''Sorry for what? For making me remind that I am a worst brother who can't protect his sister? For reminding me what I have been through for years? For reminding me that I broke the promise I made to my parents before their death? For what are you apologising? You knew how much Maya's topic is sensitive for me still you dared to remind me about it?'' He screamed crying.

''Am sorry'' she whispered crying.

''Wear your clothes, Aarya. I need some time for myself. Let me drop you at your mansion'' he said wearing his clothes.

''Arjun-''

''Make it fast, Aarya. I don't want to hurt you'' he yelled cutting off her her. She wiped her tears getting off the bed while Arjun left the room. She wore her clothes and went downstairs to Arjun who was waiting for her.

''Arj-'' he went outside immediately without letting her complete the word atleast.

Wiping the fresh tears that were rolling down her cheek she followed him. They both sat in his car and rode to Chowdary's mansion with uncomfortable silence between them. He stopped in front the gates and looked straight.

''Arjun-''

''Get down, Aarya. I'll call you once am in mood to talk'' he said cutting off her. She nodded and turned to door. Suddenly she turned back and grabbed his face in her hands and placed her mouth on his. Without wasting another second, Arjun responded pouring his anger and pain in the kiss. He bit her lips hard making them bleed.

''Aarya'' someone called knocking the window glass. They both stopped kissing and pulled away slowly as their hearts are pumping crazily. Aarya turned to door and saw Naman with wide eyes.

''Fuck'' grunted Arjun and got down the car and jogged to Naman's side.

''Naman anna-''Arjun stopped in middle when Naman held his hand out gesturing him to stop. Naman turned to door and opened it for Aarya. She got down slowly and looked at Arjun.

''Get inside the car, Aarya'' said Naman.

''Anna-''

''Do as I told you, Aarya. I don't want you to open your mouth'' said Naman dangerously just like Abhi. Aarya nodded her head and giving a glance at Arjun she sat inside the car. Naman raged to Arjun and held his collar.

''I didn't expect this from you, Arjun. You truly disappointed me. If you loved my sister you would've told us but you didn't and were kissing her on roads. What if Abhi anna saw it instead of me?'' Naman gritted through his teeth.

''Am sorry anna. We were planning to tell you people in a week'' said Arjun lowering his head.

''Fucking hide your face from me or else I don't know what am gonna do with this pretty face yours. It's not because you loved my sister or kissed her but you came into my home as a best friend of hers whereas you are her boyfriend, cheating on us hiding such a big thing from us'' said Naman and pushed him. He walked back to car and drove inside the gates.

''From when?'' Asked Naman coldly parking the car.

''Since childhood'' said Aarya.

''Yeah, since your childhood you both were making us fools hiding it, isn't it?'' Mocked Naman.

''Am sorry. We are gonna-''

''Does Situ Vadhina (sil) know about it? Oh! Am a fool to ask you, she might have known about it after all you guys are bestfriends since kindergarten. Even she hid it from us making us a fools'' said Naman bitterly.

''Don't pull Situ in this anna. I was the one who opposed the idea of telling you people when both Arjun and Situ asked me to disclose it'' said Aarya calmly.

''I don't care even if you beat me or scold me but I won't stop myself from fighting with you people if you drag Sitaara in this or blame her'' she shouted and got down the car.

Naman too followed Aarya after locking the car and went inside. He directly went to his room ignoring sitaara who greeted him cheerfully.

Sitaara frowned at his behaviour and let it go assuming that he had a bad day at office and need time for himself.

She prepared snacks for everyone and they all were having them watching football match. She saw Aarya who was sitting quietly more like spacing out. She saw hickeys on her neck and immediately walked to her and pulled her hair in front to cover them.

''Seems like you both did 'that' very wildly Huh? You both compensated one and half month desire in one and half day'' teased Situ but Aarya didn't blush like every time.

'Did she even heard me? Stupid girl even after spending time with her boyfriend for whole day, she is still drowning in his thoughts' thought Situ and giggled.

''Aarya'' she called slowly. Aarya looked at her and faked a smile which didn't go unnoticed by Situ.

Perks of being best friends since childhood!!

''Are you fine? What happened?'' Whispered Sitaara. Aarya didn't say anything and left from there. She was about to follow her, Dhruv stopped her.

''Vadhina (sil) can you get me brownies please?'' Asked Dhruv with puppy eyes. she chuckled nodding her head.

''She isn't a maid, Dhruv. Lift your ass off the couch and get it by yourself'' said Abhi coming towards them removing his coat and looked at Sitaara. They booth had a brief eye lock and averted their gaze. After his weird behaviour the other day, he came back home today after two days.

''Here comes the Mr Possessive freak'' mumbled Dhruv and turned to Abhi who was loosening his tie.

''I know you want your wife for yourself all the time but that doesn't mean she can't get brownies for her poor bil. You won't even wear your blazer on your own and you are asking me to move my ass from here? If you are her husband then, am her bil'' said Dhruv and pouted.

''You are so much possessive anna. You don't even want your wife to help someone because that someone is not you. I hope your possessiveness doesn't affect your relationship with Vadhina(sil)'' said Dhruv dramatically.

''Shut your mouth and move your good for nothing ass off the couch and get your brownies along with some juice for me. Am fucking tired'' he said and sat in couch lazily. Scowling, Dhruv went to kitchen scowling at him. Everyone chuckled.

''You didn't come home for 2 days? You are married now and have a wife. You just can't leave her alone. You know how much she was worrying about you since two days?'' Asked Sakshi massaging Abhi's temples. This reminded him of his possessive act with Sitaara. He looked at Sitaara and found her looking at him already. She soon averted her gaze.

'I hope your possessiveness doesn't affect your relationship with Vadhina(sil)' Dhruv's words rang in his ears.

He turned to Sakshi and smiled. ''Workload, amma. We need to make up the loses for that fire accident. Government also took a major action on it as it affected nearby areas. I was busy looking after legal things whereas Naman was handling the company issues'' he said and sighed sadly.

''Just this one accident made our shares drop down drastically. Am working hard hoping for the best'' he said with a sad smile.

''Everything will be fine, Abhi. You will make everything right soon'' she said and kissed his forehead.

''Eww...Peddha mommy ( father's elder brother's wife/ aunt/ badi ma) don't touch him. He didn't take shower'' said Disha scrunching her nose.

''I took shower in the room which is connected to my office cabin'' said Abhi and hugged Disha tease her.

''God!! Go away. You didn't freshen up. Only god knows how many germs you carried home. Vadhina(sil) don't let him touch you untill he takes bath again'' said Disha pushing away Abhi. Abhi rolled his eyes.

''Anna juice'' said Dhruv forwarding the glass. Abhi took it blindly and was about to drink sitaara pushed it away. Everyone looked at her shocked.

''What the hell, Mani? Can't you take care of yourself once? Do I have remind every damn thing to you? How did you manage before marriage if you are reckless about health? You idioitic piggy'' she shouted. Everyone looked at her confused initially but at the end everyone burstout laughing listening 'idiotic piggy'.

''Wow!! Such a nice compliment to anna. Don't you think it's suits him Disha? ''Asked Dhruv laughing. Abhi's one glare shut him up.

''Why did you push away the glass, taara?'' Asked Abhi with confused expressions.

''That was kiwi juice, Mani. You are allergic to it. Your tongue will swell and also causes throat itching'' she yelled at him. He smiled at her care for him.

''How do you manage to remember everything about everyone and especially about me from my day to day schedule to food I take, the colour I prefer for my outfits? You are just amazing'' said Abhi. She smiled.

''Am not a top graduate of MIT for nothing. I obviously remember everything and I know am amazing'' she said lifting her imaginary collar. Everyone smiled nodding their heads agreeing with her. Sitaara instructed the maid to clean the floor as juice is spilled all over.

''Where is Naman? He don't miss even a single foot ball match then what happened to him now?'' Asked Abhi looking around to find any sign of Naman.

''He is in his room and might be upset of something. So, we didn't disturb him'' said Sitaara.

''Now, go to room and freshen up'' she ordered.

''She behaves like a mom to me more than a wife'' he mumbled and went away. She chuckled looking at his retreating figure. Anjali pulled sitaara to sit between her and Sakshi.

''You know, on that day I really felt agitated when Sisira ran away but today I feel very happy'' said Anjali. Sitaara looked at her confused.

''Because we got you for our Abhi. Since 7 years I never saw Abhi this happy and 4 years ago he just forgot how to smile. He used behave as a dead corpse. Void of emotions. It was very difficult for us to handle him. We contacted many psychiatrists, even country's top psychiatrist but they couldn't help his condition as Abhi was never supportive. He used to behave like a wild animal when ever we used to take him for consultations. Trust me when I say this, Sitaara you became a sunshine in his dark life. We almost gave up on our son and then you entered his life. Thank you is a very small word for you, Sitaara'' said Sakshi as tears made their way. Sitaara saw not only Sakshi but everyone, even Dhruv who never drop his smile off his face, is crying now.

''What made him like this, Athamma (mil)?''Asked Situ.

''Let him tell you, sitaara. Sharing it with you by himself might cure him completely'' said Suman. She nodded.

''Sitaara'' she heard Abhi's scream from their room.

''God! Your son is worst than a kid. He won't even pick his own t-shirt, Athamma (mil). I made a deal with him to select his office outfit but he made me select even his hankey by me'' said Sitaara shaking her in annoyance.

''Sitaara'' she his scream again making everyone laugh. Cursing him she immediately ran to their room.

''What?'' She asked closing the door behind her.

''Why do you fold clothes and arrange them in closet? It's one of the irritating task to find single tshirt. Before marriage, I used to pick up clothes with closed eyes but now even if I borrow 100 pair of eyes I can't-'

She ignored his rant and walked to closet. Picking up his shirt and tracks she came out and threw them on his face.

''I don't need to wonder if one day you ask me choose even your underpants'' she said angrily and left from there. He laughed at her frustrated tone.

She walked to Naman's room to check on him. She slowly opened the door and peeked her head inside and saw him working on his laptop. Naman looked up, Sitaara smiled at him like a kid but he ignored her and turned his attention to his laptop again. She pouted.

''Am I not allowed inside?'' She asked.

''I already told you Vadhina (sil), you don't need to take permission. Not atleast till I get married and get busy romancing with my wife'' he said looking into his laptop as his fingers were continuously were dancing on the keys of the laptop. She giggled at his bold words and entered inside.

Sitaara not only changed Abhi but also Naman. The one who used to be conservative and speak two to three words in one hour of their conversation, now speaks without a break and boldly. He is no more that hollow Naman who was brooding himself in pain but a Naman who moulded into a new form.

She sat on the other couch beside the one on which Naman sat and peeked into his laptop.

''Why did you hide about it, Vadhina(sil)?'' asked Naman. She gave him a perplexed look. He paused his work and placed laptop on the table infront of him. Turning to her completely, he cleared his throat.

''I saw Aarya and Arjun kissing each other. He was literally sucking my sister's face. Trust me I felt it gross!'' He said making faces. Sitaara looked down.

''I know, I and Aarya shouldn't have hid this thing from you guys especially to you cousins but Aarya was afraid to tell you people. She took a promise from me not to speak about her relationship with Arjun to you people. Being a friend I stood on my words respecting her feelings but being the eldest dil of this house, I failed'' she said sadly. Naman held her hands immediately shaking his head in no.

''No! You didn't fail being the dil of this house. It's just I felt betrayed as even you hid such an important thing about my sister. I understand Vadhina (sil). Even I hid my relationship with Anika but Aarya is a girl. What if the guy take advantage of my sister and leave her? We know it's Arjun and his character but if it was any other guy? I can't even think of it Vadhina(sil)'' said Naman.

''Am her bestfriend, Naman. I would never let her choose a wrong person for her. Aarya is the important person in my life, Naman. She is the person who walked with me in my thin and thick. She was with me in all my days without expecting anything in return and I would never let her ruin her life. It is the promise I made for myself'' said Sitaara smiling. Naman went silent.

''I know you are a great friend to my sister but being a brother we have our own insecurities. Just because she loved a guy and want to spend her life with him, we won't agree with our closed eyes. We obviously do a background check on him though the person grew up with us ''said Naman. Sitaara smiled.

''If it was Abhi anna who saw them kissing then we don't have to wonder if he even kill Arjun. Anna is very possessive of Aarya, he treats her like his own daughter, infact he loves her more than any of our brothers and sisters not because she is his sibling but she was the first kid in his life when he started understanding this world and obviously he is over protective of her'' said Naman.

''Don't worry about your brother, I'll talk to him, Naman. You tell me, are you okay with Aarya and Arjun?'' She asked.

''Am okay from what I have seen in Arjun, from what he showed up but I don't know anything about him in depth though I saw him from chilhood, to trust him with my sister'' he said. She smiled.

''Okay let me tell you about his past which clearly picturizes his pain, betrayal and his character'' she said and narrated about Arjun's past. At the end the both were in tears.

''He suffered so much. I just can't believe he still managed to stay strong and forgive the persons who are reason behind his miseries'' said Naman wiping his tears.

''He still cries to himself for his painful past, Naman but never shows up his pain to anyone except Aarya. She is sunshine in his life''said Sitaara smiling with tears.

''Am okay with their relationship, Vadhina(sil)'' said Naman smiling.

''Thank you for giving them a chance a Naman. Now go and talk to Aarya. She is crying'' She said. Naman nodded.

''BTW, when will you talk to anna?'' Asked Naman.

''Soon, very soon'' she said looking into space.

Aarya and Arjun fought!

Arjun is right, isn't he? They shouldn't hide it anymore from Aarya's family when they trusted him. Since years they hid it as they are still studying and now it's time reveal. What do you guys think?

Maya? Another new character! Seems like Arjun really have a painful past.

Naman caught them red handed! Naman's insecurities about his sister are reasonable?

Should Abhi take Dhruv's advice seriously to form a strong relation with his queen?

What might be Arjun's past? And his sister Maya? Wanna know?

This book not only justifies Situ's and Abhi's lives but also many other characters. Read the title of the book 'THE SUNSHINE OF MY LIFE' everyone has a past and there would be one person to bring sunshine in our dark lives. Like Abhi and Situ to eachother, it's Aarya in case of Arjun, Rohan and Anika to each other, Anish and Aastha, Rishi and Adhira and there would be entry in Naman's life too. There are many more people in this book who are smiling outside and are crying inside, will reveal their past and the pleasent present and future soon.

Yes, Anish and Rishi are also affected by their past but their partners helped them to come out of it.
