Chapter 190

Fated For Lycan's Luna

Chloe

“Made by Uncle Gauss?” My entire body trembled when I heard his name and the words that Blake

said.

In my hands, the very poison used by my uncle to kill Dad.

The very poison I was not able to successfully save my father from. And even after his death and

after five years of relentlessly searching, there was still no clue as to what could counter this poison

at all.

This very poison was one of the two poisons I promised myself to defeat, the other being the one

that infected me and Aurora.

“Chloe... you good?” Arthur called out softly as the two of them noticed that I fell in a daze the

moment I heard the information from Blake.

“No, I'm fine... it's just that, I did not expect that I would have to encounter this poison when I am

still unable to find out how to counter it.” For the first time in the last five years, I openly told

someone that I was unable to guarantee that I could deal with this poison in front of me.

"Don’t worry, we'll help you. Esha is also a good child you taught... three heads are better than one

aren't they?” Arthur tried to comfort me.

"Arthur is right... take your time to study the poison... As soon as I recover, I'll join Caleb on the

attack missions so that we won't delay our plans...” Blake continued.

“Wait, aren't you going back to the Blood Hound camp? How about the “Alpha Sabre’ position?”

Arthur was shocked as he looked at Blake with a questioning look.

"Well... things were getting weird inside. I could not help but suspect that either Alpha Kain or Lyra

was doubting my identity as Alpha Sabre. As such, I talked with the real Alpha Sabre and we had to

push forward our plans to exchange personas.” Blake explained.

Hearing this, I took a deep breath and held back what I wanted to say. Of all things that Blake

needed right now was peace so that he could heal. Moreover, since it was Alpha Sabre who took the

initiative to step in with the plan, there's nothing more to do but to do what I am best at.

"Alright... just promise me you will not insist on joining the missions until you fully recover...” I said

while helplessly looking at Blake.

Even when there were a myriad of words I wanted to say, seeing his hurt state made me utterly

helpless at the moment. As a doctor, and as someone who loves Blake, I knew that this was not the

time to nag him with a lot of things he was being careless about.

“I promise... I surely do...” Seeing the look on my face, it seemed like Blake heard my thoughts and

answered seriously.

"We'll talk later...” I bent down and planted a kiss on his forehead. Then I took the medicine with me

to study in the lab.

When I arrived there, Esha was already prepping the tools we were supposed to use for the day.

“Teacher!” Sensing my presence, Esha put down everything she had on her hand and excitedly ran

to my side like a happy little chick seeing her mother hen.

“En... have you gotten your breakfast? You seemed to be too early to be prepping.” I asked as it was

still dark in the morning when I arrived.

“I want to finish more options today! That's why I went in early.” Esha shyly replied as soon as she

noticed that I was praising her.

“Well too bad, you will not do any potions today... because we will be handling these poisons,

studying them and thinking of a way to make an antidote to counter them,” I explained and showed

her the bloodied sackcloth.

"Wah, it's bloody..." Esha's eyes lit up in excitement, and she became more curious when she saw

the sackcloth ridden with blood.

“This poison was taken painstakingly by Alpha Sabre from the Blood Hound's secret poison

laboratory... he is with Arthur at the moment, tending to his injuries. So let us not waste his efforts

and sacrifice... We shall do our best to see through these poisons!” I instructed.

"Yes, teacher!l” Esha's face became serious when she learned about the origin of the poisons. A

young lady like her who would be turning into an adult in two years flashed a determined

expression that only fervent and experienced doctors would show.

I smiled seeing how far she had grown from the moment I first rescued her along with the other

survivors. She embodies the spirit of the Red Moon Pack - an unfathomable affinity to poison.

“I'll let you handle all of these vials,” I said I sorted the poison vials on the table and transferred

those whose canisters were cracked so that we could preserve it well.

“Teacher, will you really let me handle this much?” Esha’s eyes widened as her hands trembled as if

so afraid to touch the vials I had just given.

"Yes... in two years you will become an adult... It's not wrong for you to be acquainted with these

things. These poisons belong to the third to fourth tier of our poison hierarchy so it would be too

dangerous for you..."

"However the challenge here is to figure them out before the potion fully oxidizes... As you can see,

these poisons arrived here with cracked vessels so their efficacy dwindles as we speak.” I explained.

“I understand the teacher! Thank you for trusting me!” Esha jumped in delight and started to fix the

protective gear that she had on her body.

Since she would be handling unfamiliar potions for the very first time, I still went with her to guide

her in the properties of the poisons. Without having to explain so much, she already managed to

identify which poisons were to be ingested, diffused in the air, and potent through skin contact.

When I saw that she pretty much knew her thing, I let her do what she wanted, to try to decode the

poison.

Now joining me was Arthur, and two of us stared at the revolting poison vial from Uncle Gauss... We

looked at each other and nodded, knowing that we had to help each other to figure out how to

counter the poison in front of us!
