Chapter 189
Fated For Lycan's Luna
Chloe
The night I thought would be peaceful and uneventful became utterly worrisome. I tossed and
turned in my sleep but somehow, my heart felt uneasy.
I felt like something in me was sensing apprehension but I could not point out why.
And it was not only me who was bothered by this unfounded nervousness... Even Aurora felt as
uneasy as I am.
Even so, I still forced myself to close my eyes and sleep, for tomorrow, it will be a busy day as I will
be assisting Arthur and Esha in developing a large batch of poison.
It was a few hours after the struggle that my body jolted out of bed.
Kicking the blanket wrapped around me, I went out of my room barefoot and headed outside the
pack house.
I rushed towards the woods following the scene whom I could easily recognize even if it is faint.
"Blake!" I called out, but dread had already washed over me.
From afar I saw Blake, walking calmly and as unperturbed as ever. But I knew that covered in the
cloak of darkness were serious injuries, wounds all around his body and several broken bones.
He smelled strongly of blood and several kinds of poison... poison in which I could not recognize
but the scent was enough for me to know that they were all extremely powerful!
My eyes widened as my knees almost collapsed on the ground. Inside me, Aurora was exclaimng
the same thought I was thinking at the moment - it's no wonder we were uneasy earlier on.
I tried my best to keep my composure as I rushed toward Blake and immediately supported him.
But my eyes were already uncontrollable as the deep sense of worry and shock overwhelmed me.
âLet me take you to the clinic!â I said while trying to figure out his condition up close when my
vision was already blurry in tears.
The next moment, I felt Blake's rough hands. They gently touched my cheeks in an attempt to wipe
my tears out as he said softly, âRelax... I'm fine...â
"How are you fine?! You... your condition was severe with several bone fractures?! How can you say
you're fine? And the poison in your body...â
âThe poison wasn't inside me... I brought it with me...â Blake then stretched his other hand out and
revealed a bloodied sackcloth containing several vials of substances I could not recognize.
âIt was because of the rough fighting that some of them cracked. I did my best to stop them from
leaking out. That's why some of it went to the protective cloak I was wearing...â Blake answered, but
he could not hide the fact that he was already having difficulty in breathing because of the injuries
he had sustained.
âWhy has it come to this?!â I exclaimed, however, I still supported him as we went back to the
territory.
We met Arthur halfway as Blake had also summoned him. With the two of us around, we took a look
at Blake's condition and realized that what he received were heavy physical blows from an
opponent that is obviously bigger than him
I felt a little bit relieved to see that he was indeed not poisoned at all.
âWhat in the world happened?â As we finished tending to Blake's injuries, we sat beside Blake's bed
and watched him as he took a rest with his entire body covered with braces all over.
"I followed Elder Gauss in his hideout... and I took those things from his laboratory. While I escaped
however, one of the elders woke up from the hallucinations and immediately chased after me... We
fought for a while, even so I still managed to take him out before the others catch-up. â Blake
smiled awkwardly as he met my reproachful look, feeling guilty.
"You know it's dangerous to do that without even having someone standby to pack you up! Look at
yourself...â My body trembled as I heard him explain what had happened, and hearing everything
from him stirred a river of emotions within me.
The fact that he went through this without even realizing that it would cost him his life if anything
went haywire made me feel more than worry but the fear of losing him in this battle.
I have already lost my son, I can't lose Blake as well...
"Heyy... why are you crying? Here I am, ain't I? I managed to return safely...â Blake looked at me with
a comforting gaze and tried to appease me with his words.
But his state infront of me made me feel even worse that I could not help but look away.
âEhem..." In the midst of our conversation, Arthur tried to ease up the tension and commented,
âWell... what's done is done. You two can talk about it later on, but I don't think that these
substances and potions could no longer wait.â
Arthur waved his hands and pointed at the several vials of substances that were still wrapped in the
bloodied sackcloth.
âChloe, I think we must transfer these poisons in a new canister so that we can prolong our time to
study them...â Arthur looked at me and suggested.
While we were now both in the medical field, Arthur's specialty lies on healing while I on poison. As
such, encountering such unknown poison, he opted for me to take charge of the study about it.
Before moving, I moved to Blake and reminded him some more before I took the sackcloth and
looked at the vials inside.
There were several vials in there, some were leaking as they were handled roughly probably because
of the fighting.
But there was one vial in their midst that caught my attention immediately.
A great sense of apprehension came as I put down the sackcloth and took the vial in my hand.
Blake saw my movement and immediately recognized the vial. His face changed immediately as he
said with heavy words,
âThat's the vial I wanted to bring here so desperately... It was made by your uncle... More
accurately, it was a poison perfected by your uncle from the same poison that killed your late father,
Alpha Dean.â
