Chapter 187

Fated For Lycan's Luna

Blake

“Not to tell the Alpha’s Queen? Isn't that Lyra?"

I hid myself deeply as I pondered the meaning of Gauss's words. What is it that they must not tell to

her?

In the end, I had no choice but to set that side for a moment as the air had already turned eerie and

cold. The atmosphere around the dark and secluded hall turned even more sinister.

I watched as the rest of the elders nodded in agreement and wordlessly watched Gauss maneuver a

mechanism in the door.

vir.

Being a bit too far from them, I was not able to see how Gauss opened the door but the slight

tremors around the cave signaled that he successfully opened it. There revealed another room, far

smaller than the laboratory rooms outside.

In the dark light, using Eron’s power, I was able to somehow figure out the interior of the room

which was filled with a lot of vials and glass canisters of different sizes. They were certainly filled

with something, but I was already too far to figure out what it was.

“This is the strongest weapon that we, the Blood Hound Pack had...” Finally, Gauss took out a small

vial and showed it to the rest of the elders.

The liquid in the vial was blood red, and the moment Gauss carefully took out the cork that was

covering it, an aggressive putrid smell assaulted my nose, almost urging me to gag uncontrollably.

The elders also could not help but back up, and together, all of us felt a deep sense of apprehension

toward the liquid.

"Elder Gauss... what is this thing?” No longer able to comprehend what he was seeing, one of the

elders took up the courage to ask about the substance.

“It's actually the completed version of my arrogant niece's poison. If you remember, I used the

poison made by her on her very own father. But that poison took too long to kill a strong person

like Dean. As such, starting that day, I set out to study this poison and make it perfect!”

"But I came across a great hurdle, the missing element that would be strong enough to become the

main carrier of the substance. The poison component itself was so strong that it would make any

kind of liquid evaporate.

I tried everything... water, several kinds of medicine, and even melted metal, but it was not strong

enough. Finally, I remembered how that niece of mine would use her own blood in all her creations

As such, I tried to use mine...

But unfortunately, it did not work.

However, I knew that I was on the right track... the only task left was to find someone who carried

the same blood as hers. I tried pulling some strings to take her back and become my blood bank,

but she disappeared for years... only to appear right now...”

Gauss's lengthy explanation finally satisfied most of my questions, but the moment I heard that he

wanted to take Chloe to become a blood blank my face darkened in raging anger.

I wanted to rip his mouth right away and kill him at his moment, but I knew that I could not do it in

this situation where I was alone with several elders in their hideout.

“Elder Gauss... you said that this poison was already perfect... that means... you have found a blood

bank already?” an elder questioned.

Gauss's expression lit up as he proudly answered, “Indeed... that is why I told you, not to tell it to

the queen.”

Hearing his words, I was frozen in shock. From Gauss's statement, it seems like the source of blood

has someone to do with her.

Remembering her pale complexion that could not be covered up by the most colorful makeup and

sparkliest jewelry, my thoughts wandered.

Could it be that they were secretly drawing blood from her and were using it for their experiment?

However, I remember that there is nothing special with Lyra’s blood unlike how it was for Chloe.

Could it be that the properties Gauss was talking about lie not in the power of Chloe's blood but in

another factor?

Sadly, their conversations no longer gave me useful information as they only moved to take a few of

the vials from the room and carefully carried them out in the secluded hall

I trailed them carefully, watching every movement they made.

At this moment, I knew that I had to at least take a sample of this poison so that I could help Chloe

and Arthur figure out how to counter it.

But I underestimated how Gauss would deeply guard the vials. He did not even let the normal

laboratory workers see what they were carrying.

Before they went, he let them place all the vials in an insulated brocade box and let the strongest

among the elders carry them back to the main laboratory.

I did not have a choice but to go back to the secluded hall either, because I was unable to see how

he opened the door and even if I managed to open it, the tremors that it would cause would alarm

Gauss and the elders that there was an intruder!

Watching them preparing to place the vials in a storage vault, I knew that there would be no

opportunity left for me than this moment!

“Eron... can you help me?” Knowing that my plan had a low chance of succeeding, I could not help

but ask Eron as a form of reaffirming myself of what I was about to do.

"Whatever you do, I'll support you..” Eron replied with a still serene voice.

With that, I took the vial that Alpha Sabre gave me and quickly found the nearest air vent on Gauss

and the elders’ position.

Finding it quickly, I used a bit of my power and encased the entire vial of the powder hallucinogen

into the vent closest to them and immediately diffused it in the air. I knew that I could not let my

guard down, which is why I did not risk to only use a little of the hallucinogen but used it entirely.

Fortunately, the poison took effect just before Gauss was able to close the door of the vault. All of a

sudden, Gauss and the elders stood in a daze pausing whatever they were doing as their eyes

turned blank like their soul momentarily left their bodies.

Not risking to expose myself to others, I flashed as quickly as I could beside the vent and reached

out the box. With a few moves, I managed to take out one vial and put the box back in place.

Seeing that they were still unaware and that all the other workers were also affected by the

hallucinogen, I quickly grabbed random vials around so that I could also bring them to Chloe.

Then I quickly flashed to the exit and ran as far as I could.

However, just as I was about to successfully escape, I could feel a hostile aura coming at me very

fast!

To my dismay, one of the elders had already escaped from the effects of the hallucinogen and was

now chasing after me madly!
