Chapter 176
Fated For Lycan's Luna
Chloe
Arthur quickly flashed toward Carrie and Arlan, full of longing and excitement.
Without much thought he spread his arms wide open and enveloped Carrie and Arlan in his arms.
He kissed Carrie affectionately as he caressed Arlanâs small lovely face.
The scene was so heartwarming and beautiful. Seeing Arthur who had always been keeping a
distance from Carrie back then show how he loves her made my heart feel relieved at the moment,
especially when I saw Carrie's face filled with bliss.
From the bottom of my heart, I am glad that the two of them have been well, despite all the things
that happened back then.
I remained at the spot I was standing in, watching their tender reunion with a smile on my face.
Until Carrie's vision passed behind Arthur, our eyes met.
âChloe!â She exclaimed her eyes widened with excitement and relief. Almost automatically, Arthur
carried the still sleepy Arlan in his arms as Carrie sped toward me.
I smiled and replied, âI came to drop by at Arthur's suggestion.â
But Carrie seemed to have not heard my words as she pounced on me heavily and hugged me while
she bawled like a baby, âWahhh, Chloeeee! I miss you so much! Did you know that I was so worried
about you! You've been away for so long! Waaaaah!â
Lost in surprise, I let out an awkward chuckle as I hugged her back. It seems like she was still the
young lady that clings to me so heartily whether she was happy or sad.
In my heart, I felt so relieved as I felt her warmth and words of worry. Even after many things
happened between Blake and I, our friendship was not broken.
Just thinking about it, my eyes felt hot as tears uncontrollably fell, âI'm sorry for making you worry,
Carrie...â
In the end, the two of us cried without a care.
âPapa... why is mama cwying?â At a distance, a cute tiny voice rang which halted the two of us in our
teary reunion. âAre they huwt (hurt)?â
"Oh, it's not like that. Your mama saw her dear friend and missed her so much that she immediately
cried in happiness.â Arthur cleared his throat and explained it to Arlan awkwardly.
"O-oh... you can cwy when you are happy?â Arlanâs eyes blinked as his two shiny innocent orbs
looked at Carrie and I with an innocent question.
"Sometimes, when you are very very very happy, you couldn't help but smile.â Carrie let out a soft
chuckle and took my hand, then as we walked towards the door where Arthur and Arlan stood
watching, she explained.
âI see...â Arlan tilted his little head then paused, the next moment, he seemed to understand as he
answered with nods.
"Come, Chloe... meet Arlan. He is two years old now.â With a bright smile on her face, Carrie
introduced Arlan to me as she carried him. âArlan, this is your auntie Chloe, please greet her.â
âAuntie?â Hearing the word auntie, Arlan blinked his innocent eyes in surprise then looked at me
curiously.
âHello Arlan, nice to meet you.â The moment I saw him up close, my heart skipped a beat as I saw a
striking resemblance of Blake into Arlanâs features.
Just like Blake and Carrie, Arlan had dark wavy hair and his round eyes looked like he could see the
depths of your soul despite its innocent brightness.
"Hewoo... Auntie Chwoee...â Seemingly curious yet shy, Arlan still followed what his mother ordered.
There was a hint of politeness in his tone but all about him seemed to be bright as he flashed his
tiny milk teeth.
My heart was immediately taken away by his cuteness but I stopped myself from hugging him.
Carrie smiled as she looked at his son once more before beckoning me to go inside. On the other
hand, Arthur seemed to have given me some space as he took Arlan and left us in the living room.
The interior of the house exudes that the family living inside is warm and happy. Nothing about it is
luxurious, however, it was filled with a tone of joy and belongingness.
"How do you like it Chloe?" Carrie looked at me expectantly when she saw that my eyes wandered
around. I suddenly remembered how she would always say how she would build her home the
moment Arthur accepted her love.
Who would have thought that she would really make their home exactly as she always dreamed of?
"Very beautiful, it is exactly as you have always talked about.â I smiled widely.
The next moment, Carrie asked about the things that happened during the five years I wasn't
around. I told her how I have been through the years and she was especially happy when she heard
about Aurora.
"Ah... In the future, whenever it is convenient, I'd like to meet Aurora!â Carrie uttered excitedly as
she looked so relieved about the things that happened.
It was a mysterious yet happy feeling when you see someone who was genuinely happy for you.
Carrie may be someone who was the most affected of the things that happened to Blake and I back
then, and yet it is comforting to see that she never changed.
It was something that made me feel at ease and guilty at the moment. I felt guilty that I had to
ignore and leave our friendship because of the hurt.
But seeing this situation and how Blake and I were slowly rebuilding our relationship... Maybe things
are for the better.
After a while, Arthur came back from the kitchen and beckoned us to have breakfast.
Joining the family of three, we shared a meal together, something that I haven't done in a long
while since the preparation for the cooperation.
The meal was simple and everything felt very familiar to me. I was taken back to the times when
Blake, Carrie, Arthur and I were sitting together on a table and sharing a meal without a care...
Back to the time when everything was all fine and no one was hurt.
Even so, as I found myself feeling melancholic, my mind reminded me of my recent rendezvous with
Blake which made me quite giddy.
We may be far from Carrie and Arthur's relationship now... but we are slowly healing.
With that the negative thoughts at the back of my mind were resolved and I was able to face the
mealtime heartily.
Or so I thought.
In the middle of our heartwarming meal, Arthur's face changed. A flash of surprise doused his
carefree attitude so much that he even lost grip of the cutlery he had at hand.
"Arthur, what's the matter?â Carrie looked at him worriedly.
Arthur looked at me with anxiousness and then with Carrie. His eyes meant something which we
immediately caught on.
Carrie took Arlan who thankfully was now done eating while Arthur led me to his study.
âIs there news on Blake's side?â I asked as soon as I stepped in and closed the door.â
âThere is..." Arthur answered heavily, âHe reported the matter personally to Alpha Kain and all things
seemed to be within expectations.â
Hearing that nothing was wrong with the plan, I was rather curious as to why Arthur's face was filled
with a dark shadow when everything went fine.
âExcept that he now knows who Alpha Kain's wife is...â he muttered slowly.
âAlpha Kain's wife? Who is she?â Curious, I raised my brows and asked.
âI-its..."â Arthur clenched his fist and a trace of disgust and anger showed on his face as he muttered,
âIt's Lyra!â
