Chapter 156

Chloe's POV

“Chloe...” As I was in my office, Allan immediately came with Vanessa as they reported, “It is as you

said, the Frost Fang Pack has come to town. Caleb is facing them right now.”

My hand froze as I heard their words, “He really came..."

Remembering his words back then, I knew that he would contact me sooner or later.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts and resolved, “Let them in, also,

most of the remaining people here other than you two and Lisa knew Blake's real identity. But since

he came here as the leader of the Frost Fang Pack then none of us shall mention him being the

Lycan King.”

"As you know, most of our men knew Blake's face as the rogue and my mate back then, but they did

not know his real identity. Even so, I don't want any fifth person to know who he really is.”

"Alright..." Even though Vanessa and Allan became confused they still nodded and acknowledged

my decision.

For many nights, I was deliberating how to tell Caleb about Blake... But no matter how I tried, I did

not have the courage to tell him that Blake was the person he was looking for back then.

Apart from my complicated situation with Blake, now that I know Caleb's hatred against the Silver

Pack and the Lycan King, I cannot bring myself to come clean towards this situation.

I have thought about it over and over, but the conclusion is still the same. To get our revenge

against Alpha Kain, our Blood Moon Pack needs to cooperate with Blake, even if it meant deceiving

Caleb and betraying his trust.

This is my choice... and I have to see it through even if it costs a heavy consequence.

“Rest assured, even if Blake and I had been mates, I will not let that matter cloud my judgment.

Depending on how it will turn out, I will make sure that our pack will not be on the losing side.”

I left them with these words before sending them out to inform and assist Caleb in handling Blake's

party.

“Prepare the big hall and let everyone gather... no matter how it is, be prepared..” Seeing that Allan

and Vanessa went on their way, I summoned the aides and gave them orders for preparation.

“Chloe, are you ready?” Aurora's voice inside me asked as we looked from afar to the direction of

the town.

“I'm scared... but I have people to protect behind me. Just as you said, I just need to focus on my

goals and no longer care about anything...” Even as I replied these words, I knew Aurora felt my

discomfort towards the matter.

“No matter what, Chloe, I'll be here with you. You can be bolder with your decisions, unlike back

then, you have me now...” Aurora's comforting words gave me a strong sense of encouragement.

“Right... back then I felt small and helpless. I do not have anyone to rely on other than my poison

and medicine skills. But now I have Aurora, I have my own people as well... I can stand tall."

In no time, the surroundings became colder and tense. I knew at that moment that Blake and his

men had arrived.

"Aurora, let's go.” I uttered as I calmly walked toward the big hall.

As soon as I entered, there was a heavy silence and everyone from the Blood Moon Pack stood

vigilantly as if they were prepared for any battle that should come.

"Greetings to the Leader!” They greeted me.

"At ease...” As I waved my hand, I found three men with faces covered in masks. Although their

attire was no longer identical to the Frost Fang Pack’s uniform due to their disguise, the familiar

scent proved that they were indeed the people whom we encountered during the banquet.

“Pardon us, Leader of the Blood Moon Pack for coming here in this manner unannounced. We

represent the Frost Fang Pack to propose a negotiation with you.” Initiating the conversation, Arthur

stepped forward and talked.

“The Frost Fang Pack... As far as I know, you have pledged allegiance to Alpha Kain, the enemy of

the Blood Moon Pack. Do you think we are foolish to believe you?” I looked at them coldly, not

masking my hostility, releasing my aura indiscriminately.

Seeing how Arthur worded his speech and the tone of his voice, I knew that he had considered that

I would immediately give in to this cooperation.

Realizing that, something in me felt displeased. Are they coming at me knowing the possibility that I

could consider our past relationship?

While that is true and I have no hostile feelings toward Arthur and the rest of the Silver Pack, having

them cooperate with us with such a complacent attitude will only put everyone in danger.

In my peripheral vision, I could see the surprised faces of Allan and Vanessa the moment seeing that

I treated Arthur this way.

“We do not mean to offend you this way, Leader of the Alpha-" Arthur was clearly startled by my

actions as well. Moreover, he seemed to be surprised that I could already release the power of my

wolf Aurora.

However his words were immediately interrupted by Blake's cold and authoritative voice,

“Blood Moon Pack, a pack that has been on the verge of disappearing if not for a mysterious

miracle that rescued your remnants.”

“During the banquet you have made an enemy with the Blood Hound Pack and everyone under

them, including us, the Frost Fang Pack is out to hunt you down and kill you all.”

“Now we came here not only to warn you but to offer you a helping hand. The Frost Fang Pack aims

to defeat the Blood Hound Pack and their forces to protect our own, seeing that you and I have the

same goal, I stopped by to offer you the proposal.”

He suddenly paused and released his ice cold aura, mysteriously different from the aura he releases

during my time in the Silver Pack,

“I'm merely offering you an option.”

"And if we refuse?” I looked at him not backing down.

“The annihilation of the Blood Moon Pack will be solid evidence for the Frost Fang Pack to

completely get Alpha Kain's trust and to fool him until we could kill him.” Blake announced

indifferently as he, Arthur and another one released their auras and immediately suppressed those

who were in the hall.

“Impudent! How dare you threaten our pack when you are here in our territory!” Caleb immediately

flew into rage, when he saw that more than half of our men collapsed.

In an instant a fight broke out. Even Allan and Vannessa who were extremely confused chose to

fight because they saw our men immediately collapse from Blake's aura attacks. They immediately

faced Arthur while Caleb faced the other person.

There were only three of them, but they were able to knock out our men without even lifting a

finger.

I gritted my teeth and stood up, a raging anger in my heart consumed me as I realized that how

Blake acted made me feel like he looked down on me.

"Aurora let's go.” Tapping the power of my wolf, I rushed toward Blake only to find a faint smirk on

his face.
