Chapter 143
Fated For Lycan's Luna
Chloe's POV
It was almost sundown when Esha and I finished tending the human patients. While it was nothing
to us, investigating who the intruder was would entail us to stay within the human town's premises
for a few days.
âWe shall head to the cabin.â I told Esha as we entered the forest.
The cabin by which we use as a guise for temporary lodging was actually quite far from the human
town. Humans would take a few hours hiking to each the cabin, but for werewolves, it would just be
a few minutes of rushing through the forest.
As the sky darkened, the path toward the cabin became densely green and secluded. But halfway
through the path, my body froze immediately, halting my movements.
âT-teacher, what's wrong?â Too surprised with my actions, Eshaâs eyes looked at me in puzzlement
as she waited for my next move.
"Head to the area quickly, there are people there. Whether they mean no harm, I'll leave it to you to
deal with them...â I looked far on the east side as I softly instructed.
âBut teacher...â Esha voiced her unwillingness but I immediately interrupted her.
âThere's news back in the pack, I have to deal with it as well...â
Esha's expression became gloomy but she still hesitantly nodded. She went on her way back to the
cabin as I watched her go in a certain direction.
As I watched her figure disappear into the woods, I stood frozen and lost for a long while.
Someone, is there... someone who I was not able to forget no matter how much I tried.
The one whose presence I tried to run away from, yet it is what my entire being craves.
Blake...
âYou chickened out...â Waking me from my trance, Aurora's voice sounded with a hint of teasing.
âI... just did not know what to do...â With no words to utter as a come back, I replied,
âWhether I would be ready to face him or not... I do not know what is the right answer...â
The moment I determined his presence, my mind exploded in panic. Fortunately, Caleb's mindlink
also came, asking me where I was.
A perfect setting to run away, that is what I could feel at the moment. As such, I did not hesitate to
use this as a cover up and sent Esha to him instead.
âWell... that person is still our mate.â Aurora replied
Her words were very short, but it carried a lot of weight. It was enough for me to suffocate and
drown from the contrasting emotions I had at the moment.
âNo matter how we run, we will still have to face the fact that we yearn for him..." Aurora continued.
âEspecially his body... it's been years Chloe... Aren't you not craving for it?â She teased.
I shook my head vigorously as I chided Aurora, âJeez, how in the world did our conversation go in
that direction?!"
"Well... I'm just telling the truth...â Aurora replied with nonchalance in her voice. âUnless we reject
him, we cannot deny that we still yearn for him no matter what...â
âMoreover, you know that the two of you already hold a bond that goes beyond being mates...
Chloe, you and Blake have already gone past that boundary...â She added.
âBut things happened... Aurora... and it hurt us both in a way that can not be repaired by just mere
words." I muttered.
For a long time, Aurora's voice went silent.
âIndeed... but look how your body responds to him Chloe...â
After a long while, Aurora's voice sounded once more. But her words made me pause in shock as I
realized what I just did.
I subconsciously followed Blake and the rest toward a dilapidated cabin where the young boy
almost the same age as Esha lived.
âSee... your body is more honest than yourself Chloe...â Aurora teased once more.
A wave of embarrassment mixed with exasperation and confusion made my face flush.
I tried to find the words to explain myself but then, no words could have better explain why I
followed them all the way here other than that I really wanted to watch them from afar.
From the moment they entered, till the moment they parted. I watched each and every expression
Blake made.
Time seemed to have stopped when his gaze turned in my direction. Panic ran over me as I
prepared to retreat.
'Will he go in this direction?â
âSurely he sensed my aura here..."
There was a gentle smile on his face, seemingly void of any madness. His expression pierced my
heart as I watched him take a deep breath and bade the young boy goodbye.
Reading his lips, I knew that his words were not only meant for the boy but for me as well, âYes, I'm
going home..."
My hand trembled as it subconsciously reached out, watching his back walk off without any
hesitation or looking back.
"Sigh... Chloe, it's been years... and you already knew that Blake was not the one to blame for the
loss of your little one...â Aurora's words slowly rang in my mind in deep sorrow. âIt was me..."
Feeling the despair and guilt, my chest tightened heavily as we remembered my little one.
âLet's not talk about it Aurora...â I uttered as I closed my eyes to calm our pain.
The truth made me feel lost towards what I should feel toward Blake. I can't deny that part of our
drastic actions has made a great contribution to the outcome of losing our child.
But to know that my child ultimately chose to take the poison to himself as he went back to the
Moon Goddess arms, caused me to feel like a hypocrite.
Blake is not the only one responsible. I, too, am responsible.
For we are his parents...
Years passed but I still knew that I could still not come to terms about this matter. In the end, here I
was, with absolutely no idea what to do at the moment.
My hand that was still outstretched in the air slowly lowered as I clenched it to a fist, âNevertheless...
my priority now is to reestablish the Red Moon Pack...â
âl am sure that he also came to a decision in his heart.â I told Aurora as we stared at the distance
which no longer had any trace of Blake.
The cold wind blew as I stood there unmoving.
Only after a voice rang behind me did I realize that Caleb was already behind.
âYou know him?â
